I have a T-Mobile pre-paid plan. But can't find any tmobile iPhone 6 plus, if I buy the Verizon version, I can use it with no problem?

In theory, Yes it should work. If Verizon 6 Plus works on AT&T network ( I think I meant if AT&T network work on Verizon model, but I think you know what i meant), then it should work on t-mobile as well.

I'm using a Verizon iPhone 6 with a T-Mobile prepaid SIM and everything works fine. Simply take out the Verizon SIM and insert your TM prepaid SIM and you're good to go.

Should I insert the TM sim before I turn it on? Or it doesn't matter?

I have a Straight Talk sim which is a AT&T network and in my Verizon iphone6 right now and the lte is faster than my Verizon sim. Turn phone off and insert new sim then turn back on and the network setting will change automatically.

That's awesome! So do they automatically come unlocked? Or do I need to get in contact with Verizon or something to get it unlocked?

Yes, automatically unlocked (from the factory basically).

iPhone 6 Plus Verizon is Unlocked!

I don't wanna be negative but there's been like multiple threads and even in this thread we've all said the same thing over and over.

The Verizon iPhone 6 and 6 plus are gsm unlocked from the get go. It doesn't matter where it's bought from, it could be under contract. It's still gsm unlocked. Is there any confusion to this? It's simple. I'm amazed were like almost 200 posts in here just saying the same thing. The thread title is really all that's needed to be said.

Interesting. I spoke to an Apple employee about an hour ago and she said that the phone comes locked.
Unfortunately it sounds like that employee doesn't know any better, which is not unusual, as unfortunate as that is.

So is the Verizon iPhone 6 unlocked right away then? ;)

Unactivated T-Mobile Phone

Okay, so I got an iP6 at T-Mobile, but the sales rep never activated the phone. The sales rep actually activated a different SIM on my new line and told me to replace the existing SIM before I turned on the phone to activate.

Of course I didn't activate the phone yet, and Apple's website shows a non-activated device without a carrier or warranty start date.

Does this mean the phone is currently unlocked and carrier free?

I was going to put an already activated VZW SIM in it to activate vs T-Mobile.
I'm wondering if the phone will remain unlocked if I do this then swap to the correct T-Mobile SIM.

Any opinions?

Longtime lurker and have a few questions about usin a Verizon iPhone on Att in USA.
I currently have att becuse it was alltell before the merger a few years ago, so I kept service and didn't swith to Verizon. I have to travel into a couple of town in the next county over and had service before the merger, they deemed att had to drop service and only Verizon could be provider for this area(it's two counties in Virginia that border Kentucky).
I'm afraid my order from 9-20 for the plus through Att is going to be canceled, but came across this thread and was wondering a few thing. If I were to go ahead and get a Verizon 6+ I would have to activate it so then I could have service in those Red counties with no Att, but swap sims and use it with my Att at home. I can't switch everything over at the moment because I have two iPads and another iPhone using the Att service and can't afford to buy two new iPads.
Any problems if I got cheapest plan at Verzion and used the Att sim with current service until I decide to switch?

A Verizion iPhone 6 or 6+ will work just fine on AT&T and other GSM providers.

I apologize if this is a dumb question and has already been answered somewhere in this long thread. I went to the apple store and purchased an A1549 Iphone 6 yesterday. From my understanding in some of the replies, they were able to just install a SIM from ATT, T-Mobile or Sprint and the phone would work. I placed a nano Sprint SIM in this phone and I couldn't place a call, also "SIM failure" was displayed on the phone screen. I told them specifically that I needed to purchase the "unlocked" version and no contract. Which is what I was given (So I believe) Am I missing something here? Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered.
