so if i buy a verizon 6+ from an apple store on a 2 year contract will i be able to put any sim card into it? if not, what limitations will I have?

I understand that the answer to my question is that YES i can put any sim card into it if i buy it at FULL PRICE, but is that true if i get the same phone on a 2 year contract from verizon at an apple store?

yes. Verizon 6/6 plus is gsm unlocked even on contract.

I know I can buy a full price iphone 6 from Verizon and then use it with T-mobile. This maybe a dumb question. But do I have to have an active sim card from tmobile? I'm concerned if I walk in a tmobile store and ask to activate service, they may not do so because I have a verizon phone? Thanks in advance for any replies.

It doesn't have to be already activated. You can go to tmobile no problem

Guys, if I buy an Verizon iPhone 6 at full price, it will work in a GSM local carrier in Brazil?

Can I buy elsewhere besides the Apple Retail Store? Their stocks are very low these days and I can't find the model I want. In stores like Best Buy, Target or Radioshak the Verizon model its also unlocked? Or should I buy at a Verizon store? By the way, in these stores they let you try your SIM card before buy the phone? where it is easier to find?

Sorry about all these questions. I have a few more days in america and I'm afraid of not getting buy the space grey 64GB model. :(

Bestbuy , Verizon store , Target .... Required you need to have Verizon account to buy their device.

Thanks for your reply. Then, for those who do not live in America, the only way to buy a unlocked iphone 6 is at the Apple Store?

Edit: never mind, on second read I see this question was for those who don't live in the US.

Quantos dias mais que você tem aqui?

It depends on what country and also the phone company there along with the frequencies used for LTE, if you are concerned about LTE, otherwise any unlocked iPhone 6, 6+ should work.

My concern is about carrier lock in phones purchased outside the Apple store. I heard that at&t and t-mobile models purchased elsewhere has locking for 40 days or something like that. The LTE frequencies are compatible.

Mais 3 dias, amigo. Parece que a minha única alternativa é a Apple store então?

Any Verizon 6 is gsm unlocked from the get go. Doesn't matter where u get it. Even on contract it's gsm unlocked.

That's it really

Thanks for the reply, mate. I understand that, but to buy an verizon out of the Apple Stores you don't need a verizon account?

I prefer try to buy at stores like Best Buy because stocks are very low at Apple stores these days. You have to arrive very early, stand in line for hours and probably settle for a different model than I'd like. I would understand if it was possible, since AT & T and T-Mobile are locked for 40 days and the verizon model needs a verizon account.

one more time, thanks for your answer and sorry about my poor english.

You can buy them without an account in store. Otherwise you do need an account.

The AT&T and T-mobile versions are unlocked from day 1 if you buy them full price from an Apple store

So I was just at the Apple Store and decided to buy the Verizon iPhone 6 Plus 128gb silver. I currently am on att. So what do I need to do? Can I just pop the Verizon sim out and pop in my att SIM card before turning on the device? How will this work?

Yes. Just switch sims. That's it

US iphone 6 works in UK

USA iphone 6 works in the UK

An iphone 6 bought from an Apple shop in the USA last week works in the UK as the one I bought works fine with my UK sim card in when I just got back
You must buy the expensive T mobile contract one .Put your UK sim card in BEFORE turning it on and then activate in the usual way
They did this in the set up section of the Apple store for me
There was no problem buying on from the Apple store and stock is available despite what the Apple.com store says!!!
I ordered in the morning by telephoning the Apple store close to my location there and collected the same day

I think what will be interesting to find out here quickly is if the Verizon iPhone 6/6+ is more GSM friendly than the iPhone 5 and 5s were with LTE bands. For example, on the iPhone 5 Verizon you could put an ATT sim and get service, however not LTE service. With the new device supporting so many LTE bands, it'll be interesting to see whether these new bands will allow access for most if not all GSM carriers in the US. I've always said the Verizon iPhone is the one to buy off contract regardless of carrier, so it'll be interesting to see if the same proves true with the iPhone 6.

Well technically the Sprint/International model is the best one but getting that one in the US and unlocked is a *****. Regardless AT&T/T-Mobile/Verizon iPhone 6 has every LTE band you'll ever need minus TD-LTE bands but many networks run TD-LTE adjacent to FDD LTE so I wouldn't worry about it unless you live in China. As I'm a cellular tech nerd here is a list of LTE networks world wide and you'll see that you should have coverage worldwide with ease....

I'm sure if you plan on buying it directly from Verizon retail, then yes it's likely you will need an account with them. Buying at Apple store, you don't need an account. I was able to get the verizon model at the apple store device only and did not ask me account info (since I don't have an account with verizon.
