Incorrect. The iPhone 4S had a SIM card with Verizon, for roaming internationally.

By roaming do you mean on Verizon's network, if that's the case it's pretty much useless. Unless you have money to throw away. I'm not talking about roaming here, I'm talking about the ability to simply use a carrier from another country without having to deal with Verizon.

Either way, if anybody wants a phone that work will internationally I'd go with anything after iPhone 5.

I have a Verizon iphone 6 being used on my ATT service without flaw. I switch back and forth between my verizon service and att service.

----------

For those with Verizion phones on AT&T, what kind of LTE speeds are you getting?

I am getting VERY slow speeds. DLs at like .5Mb/s. I previous had an iPhone 6 Plus (an actual AT&T phone) and was getting super fast LTE.

i'm getting over 30mb/s on AT&T with a verizon iPhone. In areas where they have multi-carrier LTE up and running I get closer to 60 mb/s

No, on GSM networks outside of the U.S.

This may be a stupid question so please forgive me but Can someone please tell me if there is a difference in buying the phone from att at full price (I'm an att customer) and then having them unlock it via email for you vs buying let's say the Verizon/T-Mobile iphone 6 unlocked from factory. Once att sends you the unlocked code can the phone now work on all networks like Verizon one for example?

I guess what I really want to know is the unlocked phone from att essentialy now the same as the Verizon unlocked from factory or is there still differences in the two?

Only difference is the Verizon 6 can be used on Verizon.

So what your saying is an att iPhone 6 that has been unlocked via att. Will NOT work on the Verizon network?

I'm confused then because to me that sounds like the phone isn't truly unlocked then? Can someone please elaborate for me

I still would like to know if there is a difference between buying the att iphone6 at full price and then having att unlock it for you via the email code vs buying the unlocked from factory Verizon/ T-Mobile one?

Unlocked refers to gsm unlocked. Verizon is a CDMA carrier. Verizon will only activate phones on their network that they have a Meid for. So an att 6 even unlocked will not work because Verizon won't activate it. But a Verizon 6 can be used on gsm networks like att no problem.

Once again, unlocked Verizon/att/tmobile iPhone 6 are all the same on gsm networks. With Verizon ur able to use it in Verizon also. That's it.

Just get a Verizon 6 if you're that worried. Really that's it.

I'm only asking because i already have an att iphone6 that I had unlocked and Tried to put my moms sim from her iphone5s (Verizon) just to see what would happen and the phone connected to Verizon's network and I was able to make and receive calls from it. Is it possible that unlocking it enables the cdma radio that is In the phone somehow?

I've read that with the 6 some are reporting success with that. That'd be new info if it works. Normally to cover the bases getting a Verizon 6 covers it all

Yea that's what keep reading my self the Verizon iPhone6 covers them all.

I can confirm though for anyone that is interested the unlocked att iPhone 6 does work on Verizon's network, atleast it does for me that is. Im curious if anyone else has tried this

I wonder though if it's because you already had an activated Verizon sim. Like if u try a new Verizon sim it won't activate

Ok that's very odd because I just tried to enter my imei for that link and it says my phone isn't compatable with Verizon yet when I put the active Verizon sim in the phone the phone works on the Verizon network.

At least for my unlocked AT&T iPhone 6, this page strongly suggests I can activate a line of service with my current IMEI/MEID: http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/nso/enterDeviceId.do?&zipRdr=y

That's weird that your imei works for that link and mine doesn't.

I don't think it matters but did you buy your phone from att or apple? I bought mine from att then had the unlock code emailed to me

I wonder if it's what the trufan31 suggested, the Verizon sim I tried was already active for an account that's why it worked? But then again why should that matter, it should either work on the network or not work.... I'm even more confused now lol

I bought mine from att, but had apple replace it due to an issue. I later submitted an unlock request to att and had them unlock it

The way it works I think is the SIM will work in any device with the right radios, but Verizon won't let you change the plan or activate a new line of service if they don't recognize the phone

Allright, so I really want to be clear before I order one of these.

If I buy this Verizon iPhone 6 from Best Buy and pay the $699.99 replacement device cost, when I receive it, can I just pop in my T-Mobile SIM and it will work fine?

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/apple-i...-6-and-iphone-6-plus&cp=1&lp=2&contract_desc=

I do not have a Verizon account and don't plan to get one. I know it's a $50 up-charge vs the T-Mobile version from Apple, but I have RZ certs that I want to use. Thanks!

Yes. That's it

Thanks, I just ordered one online with a mover coupon. Should receive it Wednesday and will pop in a T-Mobile SIM. Hope it works!

It will. Doesn't matter what you paid for it. Verizon LTE devices are required by law to be unlocked.

I'm new to this forum

Would it also be unlocked when you buy it from the Verizon store at the full price?

Yeah, that should work. Also ask them to price match with Apple - they might be willing to

Yes

You'll prolly wanna check online which bands there are in Indonesia and compare to the us versions. You'll want either the tmobile contract free or the Verizon or the full price att if u buy from an apple store. They'll all be unlocked for gsm.

Depending on which apple store u go to will determine stock.

Does it make any difference if i buy the full-price device-only phone online (through apple website) vs walk-in to the apple store? In terms of its compatibility to be used out of US. Thanks..

No difference. But I dont think you can buy the full price phone on the Apple website (yet
