I played it safe last year and went with the 6. I love the phone, but I started getting "Plus Envy" after about 6 months. I've been to the Apple Store and played with the 6+ quite a few times since then and have decided to go with the 6s+ this year. I have big hands so using the 6 one handed is a piece of cake and the 6+ is barely a change. It's still very easy for me to use one handed. :)

I'm the Opposite I have very small hands But I love huge phones I don't mind using two hands. My husband who is 6'4 with massive hands is praying that they come out with a 6s mini or 6c. Which I don't think its happening. He had the 6 sold it and returned to the 5s.

I also had 6+ envy and went from a newly purchased 6 to a 6+ after only 5 months...but now I keep going back n forth in my mind about getting the 6S when it comes out.

Everything I mainly use my phone for, the 6+ makes better (pics, videos, battery life) but I cant lie, the SIZE of the 6+ is an issue, it doesn't fit comfortably in my pockets, it doesn't fit in any of my purses except the largest one, it barely fits the cup holder in my car and I have to use the slimmest of cases or else my phone looks mammoth! I just don't know if it's worth keeping....the 6 was a great phone, the 6S will be better, I just hope I can get used to the smaller size now that I've adjusted to the 6+.

If I could, I would have both. The 6 would be better for outdoor activities like running and walking. The weight and size of my 6 plus is noticeable when I have my phone in my arm band. My 6 plus is nicer (not saying better) for use while sitting or while using it as a navigation or video viewing device due to the larger screen. In the car, the 6 plus is fine as long as its not in my front pocket. Its a little too big if your pocket is fitted but fine if you're wearing something loose like shorts. If my only option were the 6 I would be happy with that but I selected and stayed with the 6 plus and plan to stay with the 6S Plus in the future. I deal with the size but do wonder (often recently) what a smaller phone would be like. I've said it before, since getting an Apple Watch I see my phone less and less because I handle most of the reason to pull my phone out right on my wrist now. The times I pull my phone out are when I'm sitting and have to wait longer than 10-15 minutes and want to kill some time. Lately, this is less and less common. So, there have been many times where the smaller model would have been the better choice. When I'm home or know I will have more time for a screen in front of me, I'm on my iPad. Its a tough choice for someone that is willing to deal with the size but could also make use of a smaller device at times.

Side note: I have this idea for what I would like to see one day. It would be a credit card sized (or less) processing element that lives with my credit cards. It would include an equivalent SIM, memory, and processing and allow me to go running with a 3-4 inch display; something just big enough to see workout details and music selection. It would connect to my car for use with the dash video then with my 10 inch display for use around the house. The displays would cost much less than the whole unit since its just for the purpose of display. Not sure about power other than to say wireless so I could place my wallet on the charging pad at night maybe. Some details to work out but much more flexible than having to live with a single screen choice.

What did Apple give you for your 5s? How does that work?

I don't know how much the person you're responding to got, but I just checked and a 64 GB 5s Space Gray Unlocked in near-perfect condition is going for $165. I could sell one like that for $400-450.

Plus for me. If the 6s has the same exact specs as the Plus, then its a tougher decision. Ive been on my 5 for a long time now, and this will be my last upgrade for a good while, so Im looking to get the best bang for my 800€.

Hi,

It's their recycling programme. Basically you take in ID and they go through the settings of the device to make sure it ok , look at it aesthetically, and to check its serial number etc they then offer a price.

I received £250.00 ($390'ish) for the iPhone 5s 16Gb

They then put that on a store gift card and then use the gift card to help pay towards the resale of the new iPhone.

Handling the 6Plus is fine. I don't mind two handed use. Even though I'm petite I can even use it one-handed in a pinch. But carrying it around is a huge annoyance. I hate carrying it, to put it plainly.

What I really don't want to give up on the Plus is the battery capacity. And mine is not even that good. For some reason my battery always drained faster than the one on my husband's. But it still is a far better battery life experience than I had on my iPhone 5s.

It's going to be a harder choice than I thought, though. I really really really really really hate the challenges of carrying around the iPhone 6Plus. But I also hate the gimped specs on the smaller phone. The lack of OIS. The less sharp screen. I especially dread, hate and fear the reduced battery life. If only they'd make the smaller phone just a bit thicker to accommodate a better battery. But no.

At this point I feel like I'm just going to try and choose the lesser of two annoyances but I'm not going to ever be happy like I was with my iPhone 4. What I want Apple to do is to give the 6s a higher resolution screen, OIS, and increase the battery life and keeping the smaller phone comparable in overall specs to the 6S plus where possible. And not gimping it just to make an artificial differentiation. I'm cynical now and skeptical that will happen.

I'm leaning toward the 6S right now but I'll make my final decision when we know the final specs.

6s Plus. The only annoying thing is the size when it gets to put it into your pants. When you sit down it's so uncomfortable..

But the battery-life is just amazing & the screen's PPI is flawless.

If you think that you could benefit a bigger & "sharper" screen with an amazing battery life then go for the plus. If you like using your phone without difficulties with one hand & you like light phones, get the 6.

Honestly, it depends on the style of the case and your pants are. The 6+ fits fine in my front pocket, jeans/khakis or dress pants. I do thin cases. Black Apple Leather or this below. Anyways enjoy your 6s+. I'm sticking with my 6+. Just updated to it. Lol

My boyfriend has huge hands and very long fingers and he just felt more comfortable with the smaller phone. The 6 Plus (which I have) feels awkward to him (he was coming from a 4S).
Gotcha, I was making an assumption that somebody with massive hands would feel more comfortable using a 6 plus. That being said, the 6 fits me perfectly and allows for easy one handed usage but I wouldn't consider myself as having massive hands.

going to get 6S plus as my samsung galaxy4S is going( charger port that is) I looked at the 6 and plus- they are close in size to my samsung- spoke to anybody I see wiith the apple 6's. One woman close to my age said her daughter has the 6 and she got the plus for the bigger font sizes-( that will save me from putting on glasses to read e-mails or enlarging them)- My BF is going from a flip phone to the apple- same culture jump he did when he got a new car in 20 years- free workshops- sign him up! Hope the rose gold as well as gold are both available- he wants gold with the james bond screen saver - i like gold too and rose gold is just different enough- ARRG! this android phone is killing me- battery dies in 10 hours- plug into charger overnight and due to the loose port, it is dead in the AM- Pay how much for a replacement?? Rather put that to new phone- Going to apple store- Best buy is OK for most info but apple folks know apple- much more durable than android I see from folks here with 3-4 year old phones- android seem to have mechanical issues at 18 months

I'm 6'6 with large hands and I went from the 5s to the 6 Plus. Never regretted the size. Its perfect, but most cases can make it bulky very easily, especially width wise. I primary used the Apple Leather Case, but I picked up this nice Monoprice bumper and really like it (my current case). The extra battery life is amazing and has come in handy quite often recently. I only charge my phone overnight, then wake up and use the navigation during the week, normal browsing and calls, etc, and the most I have ever run my phone down to was 11% in an 16 hour period. Amazing. The phone actually seems small to me nowadays, until I go back and try to use my old 5s. Then I remember what it was like using the business card sized screen and I don't miss it one bit.

Everyone has their prefs though. My brother prefers the 6 to the 6 Plus.

I will be purchasing the 6s Plus this year and I am very excited. Can't wait!!

I bought the 6 last year sight unseen, and worried that the plus would be too much of a massive size jump. Now I've seen them in the wild, and handled one, and given the extra battery life I'll probably order the 6S Plus in a gold color. I use the leather case so the color isn't too relevant, but thought it might be nice for my home button to look different this time around. Still want the white plastic through.

A few weeks on after the start of this thread and my mind is already made up.
I'm definitely going for the 6S Plus.
Even the regular 6 is too small now, and my works 5S is HORRIBLE to use. Took it back to a Apple the other day as it had a serial number that was covered under the camera replacement program, the head phone jack was loose and created static noise at times, and my volume/mute switch was a bit hit and miss.
Got a brand new (white box) replacement and 3 months warranty, so should help with the resale in a few weeks.
I just love the PPI and battery of the plus, I'd consider keeping this phone but it's white/silver, and I think the white makes it 'look' bigger. I think the specs on the S are going to be pretty significant also.

will you be getting the Plus again or the regular 6S?
I'd like to move down to a iPhone 6s from my plus, but I'm having a hard time justifying the replacement of a perfectly good phone, i.e., I'm in contract and I don't feel like dealing with spending even more money on a phone.

Lol, you're a staff member. You must be loaded from all the product reviews and ad revenue this site is generating. The macrumours community wants you to upgrade. haha... Lets re-visit this thread post sept 9th.

I'm heavily considering going from an iPhone 6 Plus to iPhone 6S because of its size. Don't get me wrong: both the display and battery life are amazing and I have no trouble whatsoever to use it with one hand. But, in my case, it usually 'only just fits' in my pockets.

That's not really a problem if you are doing something static, but as soon as you start to become more active (for example, if you go cycling), it's becoming a problem because you'll feel pressure.

The 6 Plus, honestly in my opinion, is just ever so slightly too wide and ever so slightly too tall. If they manage to reduce the bezels with the iPhone 7, the device will be a lot more mobile I believe.

Again, display and battery life are awesome.
Went from 6+ to 6 because if the same reasons and the lag. Seem to be set on 6s this time for near certain.
