iPhone 6S or 6S Plus?

I think I'm going to get the 6S. Right now I'm using the OnePlus One, which has 5.5" screen. I feel the 6S plus is a bit too big as I already find it challenging at times using my OnePlus One one handed.

There, I fixed it for you.
It goes without saying that anything posted on an internet discussion board is going to be someones personal opinion. I could follow every sentence with 'for me' or 'in my opinion' just to keep people like you happy, but I think most intelligent people would know from reading my post that I was obviously taking about my personal opinions and experiences of the 6 Plus.

Nah... That's a really poor excuse, to be honest.

You wrote: "...and apart from the better battery life theres really no major advantage to having the Plus..."

You can see how this comes across as passing your opinion off as fact. I did find the rest of your post to be informative though.

You can be as pedantic as you like over my wording but no one else on here seems to have taken issue with what I said. In the context of my entire post it's obvious I am stating my own opinions and no those of everyone else.

Contrary to the views of the majority, I see the 6S as being more premium than the 6S+

Reminds me of the laptop/notebook market where there is an optimal cost-effective size (15.6") - where anything smaller becomes more expensive due to the more specialised components and engineering required to have everything fit and function correctly in a smaller package. To provide pretty much the same specs in a smaller package is a magnificent feat of engineering and I definitely feel I have the superior phone when sitting next to someone waving their large phablet around.

This makes no sense.

I honestly feel like you have to be an incredibly indecisive person to not be able to make the decision between a 6S and a 6S+ without coming to the internet and asking.

The two phones are so immensely different in size, that it confuses me that people have trouble knowing which one is for them. There are some people who simply will refuse to have a phone as big as the 6S+ and there are certain people who just know that the bigger phone is what they need.

It's never struck me as one of those "hmm.. not sure which to get" sort of decisions. Similar with 13'' rMBP vs. 15'' rMBP.

Which part? Shall I dumb it down for you?
You state that the 6S is more "premium" than the 6s+? Let me dumb it down for you. Think about the 15" retina MBP vs the 13" retina MBP does that make the 13" more premium? Sure the differences are greater between those than the iPhone's but at the end of the day the larger, higher res screen and longer battery sure scream premium to me.

I preordered a 6S 128gb. 64 is all I need, but its only $150 for double storage. Itll be my first iPhone (well, i had a 6+ for a week last year and it was way too big, felt clumsy, and iOS isnt 1 hand friendly even with reach ability for me). Gonna test the hell out of it during that 2 weeks.

I agree that it is more of a challenge. The only problem is that the 6S screen kinda sucks comparded to the 6S+ and most other manufacturer's flagship handsets

The 13" and 15" MBPs don't even have the same standard specs - if they made both with the same CPU, RAM, storage, then yes, I'd call the 13" more of a premium device. It has been a constant trend that as technology advanced, portable devices have shrunk where possible/practical. For a good while, there was a race to provide the most powerful, yet compact phone until people started clamouring for larger screens again. However, it's still the case that in the notebook market (particularly outside of Apple's world), the more compact devices (ultrabooks for a while, now largely superceded by the hybrids such as the Surface Pro) attracted higher premium than the standard 15.6" mainstream systems, in part due to the engineering required to fit the technology inside such a compact form factor.

The raison d'etre of the Plus is it's larger screen size - the larger battery and screen resolution are side effects (more empty space inside the Plus shell provided the ability for Apple to fill it with a larger battery unit and they had to increase the resolution just to make sure that it didn't look any worse than the preceding models. It's a fine handset, I'm just saying that "in my opinion", it's really just the same device, with a bigger shell (and a battery to fill the shell). I still think the 6S is a more impressive package.

I pre-ordered a 64 GB 6S+
Coming from a Nexus 6, I was tempted by the portability of the 6S, but at the same time, I don't think I'd be able to live with the smaller screen.
I don't think you could go wrong with either and I don't believe one is inferior to the other.

Had the 6+ for the past year now going to 6s, whilst I love the screen on the 6+ I find it does not fit so well in everyday use for me personally, besides not fitting any of my handbags!

i have an iPhone 4 and moving back to the states in January and can not wait to upgrade.

So is the 6plus to big? Is it hard to put in your pocket or carry around?

If you have the 6 did you wish you went bigger. Thanks

It really is personal opinion, but as I've decided to come back to iOS (I toggle back/forth every few years between the OS that fancies me at the moment), I think I'm goign w/ the 6S+.

I love what I'm seeing on the camera on both models, but I've been using 5"+ screens for a while now, and I have kids so OIS interests me quite a bit.

All in all, go for what interest you... are you a "1 hander" or "mostly use both". I've found I tend to use both hands regardless so the size isn't as big a deal as someone who tends to pull their phone out, and try to do a quick 1 handed message.

I'm planning on going from the 6 to the 6s Plus. I figure now that I have the Apple Watch I use my phone less and really want the increased screen size and battery life. I'm planning on trying out a Bunker Ring or I-Ring to aid in one handed operation. Has anyone tried either of these on the 6 Plus?

Anyone come across from android with an 'in between' screen size? I'm changing from an Xperia z3 with a 5.2" screen, so the iPhone 6s seems small, but the 6s+ seems big.

My temptation for the plus is for the larger screen when browsing and watching video etc, but then at home I'd use my iPad anyway. And having a quick test in a shop the 6s snuggles in your hand nicely, whereas the plus sits more 'on' your hand, so definitely harder to hold.

I see it as a completely reasonable question. I don't want to literally know which one I should buy - how could you possibly tell me as you don't know me? But, perhaps like others, I have some thoughts about the possible pros and cons of each version, and would appreciate input from others on how they found the different sizes when used in daily life.

That to me is a good way to make an informed decision

I had the 6 last year because I found the 6+ unwieldy. This year I tried the 6s at first, but ultimately chose the 6s+. It is larger, no doubt: it's a trade-off.

After using the 6s for 13 days, I decided that it was worth adapting ergonomically to get the better battery, video, OIS & larger screen. I'm completely delighted with my choice.

There's really no harm in picking one up, testing it for a week or so & exchanging for the other model as long as you're within the 14-day window.

As far as phablets go the + version of the iphone is fairly easy to hold, easier than the Note 4 for example in my experience. But still the + it isnt a one hander, no matter what kludges you add. If you must one-hand, dont waste your time with it, stick to the regular iphone..

But obviously you dont look at the + if screen size and batttery arent important for you.

I would say why not just go ahead and buy the + keep it for a bout 6 weeks, them decide. At best you have got the phone you needed and at worst you sell the + for a small loss and buy the regular size iphone.

I had a 6 and when my BIL got a new 6S+ he gave me his old 6+. I LOVE it and of course am very appreciative of the amazing and awesome gift, but it did make me realize that I honestly like the size of the 6 better. I am a girl with small hands and the 6+ can be a bit cumbersome for me to use @ times. I have also found the phone to be a bit big to try to wear on me when working out. I also like to carry small wallet-type purses, and the phone is actually too big for a few of them. So while I am happily using and loving my 6+ (it's a great phone), I do think (all things being said), that the 6 was probably a better fit for me.

I went with the 6 last year, thinking the plus is just too big, but thinking of a change this year.
Those who went from a 5S last year to the plus, how have you found it over the last 12 months and will you be getting the Plus again or the regular 6S?

iPhone 6S for sure... the plus thing didn't work :p
