So, should I get a replacement? Seeking opinions.

Yes. The screen flickering seem to be a potential hardware issues since most with the phone deep unwakeable sleep problem don't have this symptom.

iPhone 6s 64 gb Silver (Samsumg chip)

I have it for 11 days with no issue, last night my iphone was dead, on/off button not working, home button not working, try hard reset and iPhone went to life.

IOS 9.0.2
My iPhone was restored from Itunes backup, (not icloud) when I bought it.

no problems in first 11 days until I installed an old app from App store "NoiseWatch" version 2.0 (last update 02/01/2013)
I uninstalled it

It's only happened to me once since getting the phone on launch day. The one thing that was different the day it happened was that the battery had gotten quite low (below 20%) when I plugged it into the charger that night and it was unresponsive the next morning, had to hard reset. The battery has never been that low before or since then.

Brand new 4 days old, happened this morning at work, full battery.

iPhone 6s, 64gb, space grey, iOS 9.0.2.
Non responsive black screen, hot home button.
Hard reset temporary solution.

Not impressed, come on Apple!

Exactly the same situation and phone specifications. BTW, I've set it up as entirely new phone and didn't use my previous iPhone's backup since I wanted to have a clean installation. Very disappointed in Apple! It happened few days ago. Today it happened twice within an hour...

I had the same issue for the first time this morning. Tmobile version, 6s Rose Gold 128gb. Running OS 9.0.2.
Home button was extremely hot to the point I thought something was frying inside. Phone was lying face down charging via apple charger overnight, my alarm did not go off in the morning due to it being frozen on this black screen. Unplugged it and tried to revive, and noticed the home button getting hotter and hotter. My watch seemed to still be "connected" to the phone, but couldn't place any outgoing call or ping the phone. Only the reset worked. Wondering if I should take into the Apple store for replacement, or if this is a waste of time.

Just experienced the issue for the third time. It's totally unexpected as I was just using the phone to surf and 5 mins after standing by, it require the hard reset. Not charging or anything at all.

Need a fix real quick..

iPhone 6S 128GB SG / Model A1633 / iOS 9.0.2 / Samsung CPU / AT&T

After having my iPhone 6S thirteen days, today, approx. 1PM I had my first occurrence with this issue. I found it unresponsive and had to do the two button hard reset (I didn't notice a warm home button). I had left it on its side, asleep, and unplugged at 80% for a little over one hour. I had not done anything unusual with it before.

Thinking back since I've had this new phone...two weird things (besides today)...I remember the home button feeling strangely warm (not hot though) about a week ago. It never happened again so I didn't give it a second thought. Two...about the same time I had an unexplained drop in charge of 20% in under one idle hour....which also never happened again.

In view of the fact that tomorrow is day fourteen, I may roll the dice and exchange it.

I haven't had an issue for several days now on 9.1 Beta 5 on my 6+. Two things to note; I did have an issue before with 9.1 Beta 5 and my Touch ID stopped working correctly. After my Touch ID went on the flake, I haven't had an issue with needing to reboot so far.

Updated phone to iOS 9.1. There was no mention of any fix to device not being able to wake though.. I hope this somehow fixes the issue

All I can say is I still haven't had an issue since loading 9.1PB4, where Apple told us 'it had items that might address the issue'. Let's hope it does the trick for all of you!

I sure hope it fixes it for most. I have not had the issue since PB4 and PB5 unlike a small handful of others... Now that iOS 9.1 has been officially released it will be interesting to track if this issue has been mitigated.

Iphone 6s+ 64GB Space Grey
IOS 9.02
Restored from Itunes backup
TSMC processor

Mine has locked up 3 times and always at night while sitting on the charger. Can't say I have noticed the hot home button but will check the next time it locks up.

Stick 9.1 on it, it helps.

I am running into this same issue, even when in use I've had the screen all the sudden turn slightly darker and become unresponsive until I hard reboot. Updated to 9.1 and just now had it happen again... this needs fixed!

iPhone 6S Plus
Verizon
iOS 9.1
TSMC Processor
Never restored from backup, setup as new phone out of the box

Same here, been running PB4/5 for just over 2 weeks without a single issue. In the 10 days prior to that the issue occurred 3 times for me. Feels like a silent fix was added.

I decided not to exchange. But I did update to 9.1.

Okay, I got my phone replaced today. Genius at the store was a jerk. He brought me out a phone, where the whole left side was dark. He told me to just live with it. I told him I would not. He became irritated but got another iPhone. This one was better. I showed him the two screens side by side, but he still told me I was being picky. As much as the phone costs, I have a right to be picky. At least I didn't demand to know which chip it has in it. (Haha) Everything seems fine on this one.

Im glad to hear the new phone works and that things worked out at the store.

Installed 9.1 on my 6+ and I've had 4 lockups already. This is incredibly annoying. 9.1 Beta 5 had some issues with Touch ID, but whatever was going on with Touch ID troubles seemed to fix the lockups. I've tried disabling Touch ID on 9.1 release and this hasn't helped at all.

I'd have the hardware looked at.

I experienced this problem once on my iPhone 6 while I was still running iOS 9.0 public betas, can't remember which beta. Since upgrading to iOS 9.1 betas this problem seems to be solved. Actually, 9.1 betas seems extremely stable in every way.

Brought it in to the Apple Store a couple weeks ago and there were no problems on the hardware diagnostic checks. They told me I could get it replaced for around $325 :-/
