Rose Gold = looks pink to me, more of a pale pink...

The photo at the keynotes shows another color, not pink, and even the Apple Watch, which in photos match its colors, still doesn't come out pink when you see it in person (I don't own one obviously, but have seen one in person). So, no, not pink, unless you think rose, or light pale red is pink.

It looks like they got it out of a dumpster that caught on fire behind the center for color blind idiots with no taste.

Many people perceive the color below as pale pink. In the video, it can look pale pink, salmon, coral, or pinkish copper depending on the angle and lighting, but the common denominator seems to be pink (e.g., salmon is an orange-based pink).

Is the rose gold targeted towards females?
I think it's targeted towards Chinese women. Gold phones are targeted towards Chinese men. Similar to how, generally speaking. White phones are targeted towards western women and black phones are targeted towards western men.

And I thought gold couldn't get any uglier for Apple products, and BAM! Jony delivers rose gold for the iPhone! That's unapologetically disgusting.

It's almost day and night from the iPhone 5/5S, yeah? The protruding camera, the rounded edges, the huge, clunky phone, the plastic eyesore band strips on the back, the obscenely tacky colors like gold and rose gold pink... It's unimaginable.

Even if I were to ever imagine them getting to this point, it CERTAINLY would not have been guessed to occur this quickly. I mean, they designed arguably the most beautiful phone in the world just 2, 3 years ago when they introduced the iPhone 5.

Sad to see where they've come.

Whoever doesn't think rose gold looks pink is seriously deluding themselves. It's pink, plain and simple. I don't care what Apple calls it. And having said all that, I know a ton of ladies who will be getting it.

I'm probably one of the few people that like Rose Gold color. I love pink. much to my husband dismay. i had hoped that the RG was more of a pinkish color rather that a copperish color . it looks like my wish came true. I already brought a clear hybrid case for it. so that the pink can shine. though i know its not for everyone as everyone has different tastes. now my husband is wishing that apple would come out with an electric blue color with a black front. That would be his dream. :)
My space grey can look gold, silver or grey depending on the lighting. So I would guess the Rose gold could also take on coppery sheen or pink depending on the lighting, with warm incandescent lighting bringing out a coppery hue and cool lighting from LED or fluorescent bulbs giving it the pink shade seen in these photos.

I can't understand people begrudging the release of this color when Apple is still making the more conservative silver and grey tones. They're offering the customers more choices and trying to appeal to foreign markets. I would never presume to impose my tastes on the rest of the world by insisting Apple never produce colors of which I don't personally approve.

While I'm delighted with it just because it is new and fresh and a break from stodgy monotones, I can understand some people find it excruciatingly ugly and fully support their right to say so. But to insist it should not be offered at all when fellow customers are enthusiastically ordering it seems very entitled to me. Really, if you don't like it, don't get it. Nobody is forcing people to buy pink iPhones at gunpoint. Well, it's a crazy world so perhaps I shouldn't speak in absolutes. There may be some lunatic out there with a pink iPhone fetish. Okay...I'm clearly up past my bedtime. o_O

That's not the S model. This video came out with the 6 and I clearly remember watching it. Also, there is no S mark on the back of the phone. Don't line their pockets.

They just renamed and re-uploaded the same video to get hits and make money.

Correct. Also, the purple 'Starry Norway' wallpaper is not in iOS 9 and therefore would not be on the 'S' models by default, as shown in the video. Definitely an iPhone 6.

I don't think the color in these pics is a good representation of what it actually looks like since whoever took these images used a potato.

Don't be too concerned, remember photo probably taken with an iPhone and being looked at on an iPad.

Just joking!

Have you held the dock, watch, and phone together at the same time? Try again sir.

That awkward moment when I have, which is exactly why I mentioned it in the first place. Don't worry you'll see on Saturday when you line up to go see

People never learn.

All three items are the exact shadel. It's all uniform.

The aluminum watch, dock, and phone will all be the same color, because thats the hue of pinkishness you will get from aluminum. Its the real gold 'rose-gold' watch that looks coppery.

That is the pinkest rose gold I've ever seen...

I'm starting to think Apple named it "rose gold" to attract more buyers because who would buy it if said pink? Certainly not most of the male gender.

How have you held the rose gold iPhone? Wait, the answer is no because it's not released.
