I'm french, but if was American I would be on T-Mobile. How stupid can people be to be on Verizon or AT&T (especially knowing that they steal or your data to sell them to advertisers or give them to the NSA?)

Like they say in the usa you pay for what you get.

Besides the big names there are also a host of smaller companies that resell service usually off-contract. Prices are often great if you are a light user. Unfortunately many phones sold internationally lack the critical bands for good operation under T-Mobile, looks like the 6s and 6s+ are an exception to that rule ( finally ).

Another thing to be excited about, and not just for T-Mobile but all the carriers, is carrier aggregation. For T-Mobile markets, like Phoenix where there are two separate LTE carriers on AWS band 4, now can be aggregated for better performance.

They've said a number of times that it is sustainable. They're getting faster and faster.

Source? According to various tweets and Un-Carrier announcements, John said they will honor existing users for now, but cannot make any guarantees in the future as there are just far too many abusers.

Been doing it for a while when on LTE. Not sure about the other bands though. But a year or more since LTE started to reach well outside of philly.

All of AT&T and T-Mobile's 3G/"4G" support this.

i would like to know too. wonder if this upgrade from iPhone 6 is worth it for this reason alone......especially living in Chicago

Band 12 isn't available for T-Mobile in Chicago.

Sounds like you don't either. Was just out on a trip this past weekend with a friend and his wife both have T-mobile. Out on the open road, mountains, small town we visited, yea they don't get signal too often. They even took a trip to a small town, ended up sitting at the bar for pretty much the entire day trip because they had no signal and didn't feel like exploring.

I'll give credit where credit is due, in the city T-mobile often has faster LTE than my Verizon. But out there, it doesn't work very well. But if you are just going to blindly defend T-mobile then we have nothing more to talk about.

You must've just been in unfortunate areas. I've gone on plenty of road trips across Texas and Florida and can't recall any issues. You haven't provided and locations or background.

They're working on the abusers. I don't have any specific links at the moment but I remember hearing about this in various Periscopes from JL.

Quesetion - Is this the only phone that can see the 700mhz increased coverage? Maybe thats why sensorly still shows bad coverage in most areas? Do any android phones already have this capability?

I haven't read through the rest of the thread just yet so if this has already been posted, sorry.

The Samsung Galaxy Avant has band 12. I purchased it when it came out last year as my work iPhone had horrid coverage at my house with T-Mobile and I'm in a band 12 area. I tried the Avant and it was an improvement.

I'm glad they added the 700mhz band, I'll definitely be upgrading as I'm a T-Mo user.

Northern Arizona once you leave the more populated area. There are several smaller cities. Parts of hiking trails around Phoenix, also even in Phoenix once you leave the more populated area the signal starts to drop.

The Verizon one looks to be the best, it's unlocked as are all Verizon 4g phones and it has the most bands.

It doesn't though. The GSM standard one has Band 30. The Sprint and Verizon one do not. Band 30 is AT&T's WCS spectrum... And Verizon will activate it even without CDMA radios...

Meh. That's Tmobile's coverage map now and it doesn't mean data coverage. I have Tmobile but moved and now there's no Tmobile within 200 miles of me. And now I have no data. Oh wait Tmobile graciously gives me 10mb of roaming data. It's always a good laugh when I get a text from Tmobile on day 1 minute 1 of a new billing cycle stating that I've used 8mb out of my 10mb of roaming data for the month. *** man, I can send another 1/4 of an iMessage before my data is used up for next 29 days 23 hrs and 59minutes.

But hey the advertisements constantly let me know I have all the data I want overseas in a 100-something countries and Mexico and CAnada as well. Basically if I roam anywhere in the world i get data. But stay near home and nada.

I can't complain too much. IT's free for me. Otherwise I'd have switched to ATT or VZ by now.

I was on a regular EIP through T-Mobile with my 5s and am looking to upgrade to the 6s using the Jump On Demand program to save the $125, but it sounds like I have to trade in a device. Anyone know if I can dig out an old flip phone as my trade in device? Trading in my 5S would pretty much wipe out the $125 discount.

EDIT: Nvm. I just contacted T-Mobile chat support and was told that "No device trade-in is required." I am going to be a new Jump On Demand customer so I am not sure if that changes anything.

Sounds like you're in an AT&T roaming area? Other T-Mobile roaming partners don't cap data usage or speeds.

They're really not keeping the Big Two on their feet... AT&T and Verizon are really the only go-to phones for businesses, travelers, commuters and folks in rural areas. If I didn't travel for work and lived in a city with good T-Mobile coverage, I'd consider it, since with the added price of AT&T Next, I'll soon be paying about the same that I do for car insurance for my mobile phone service.

I don't think you understand what the phrase "keeping them on their feet" means. T-Mobile is adding more subscribers than the other two and was the first to really introduce no contract plans and leased devices, doing away with carrier subsidies. They have introduced clear and simple plans and have forced the other carriers to do the same. In fact, competition by its very nature, keeps others on their feet.

Anyone know if the higher capacity models will be discounted as well?? 16GB just not enough.

They charge you extra at the time of purchase to keep the payments the same. So, for the 6S Plus, it would be:
16GB $0 down/$24 per month
64GB $100 down/$24 per month
128GB $200 down/$24 per month

I may leave AT&T next year and jump onto Tmobile. I would lose my lucrative FAN discount and unlimited data but with all of the music freedom and greater building penetration with band 12 it may be enough for me to just do that (and I still have another year to go before my contract is up so who knows what else Tmobile will announce).

You shouldn't have switch carriers to benefit if you have roaming and proper settings enabled an unlocked or AT&T iPhone 6S or 6S Plus should be capable of latching onto T-Mobile's signal/network they may be corporate rivals but they're still compatible roaming partners

So, let me get this right. I sign up this weekend for Jump On Demand and get an iPhone 6s 16gb for $20/mo. I have to get a plan, so let's say I get the base qualifying plan at $50/mo. I then use the phone for a very short period (within a month) and report I am dissatisfied with the coverage. They will then unlock the phone for me so I can change carriers and refund my first month's plan cost. I then am required to pay off the 18x$20 agreement ($360 total) and must then either turn the phone in or I can pay an additional $164 and keep the phone and move to another carrier. Total cost for unlocked iPhone 6s 16gb within a month after launch = $524.

Why should I not do this vs buy from Apple or anyone else?

Your the reason we cant have nice things like this. Your also the reason I want to believe in karma.

Because of this article I signed up for the iPhone 6s Pre-Order through T-Mobile! I didn't know this. Thanks MacRumors!!!

On a happy note anyone know how the preorder will work? Will I need to do this on Apples sight at midnight on the 12th or will tmobile have their site up and available to for preorder at the same time as well?

Ha! I see your point and it would be valid (and unethical) to enter into the agreement with zero intention of giving tmobile a chance. However, I am fine with sticking with Tmobile if the Band 12 inclusion (band 12 is in my area) proves to be an improvement in indoor signal quality when using Tmo with an iPhone, I just don't trust that it will. Tmobile certainly finds this scenario ethical as they directly state if you're not happy they will unlock the phone so you can change carriers. My scenario is karma-friendly.

It doesn't look like you can pre-order through Apple if you are on T-Mobile. T-Mobile's website says you can pre-order there at 12:01am PDT Saturday.

My understanding is you lose the discount if you don't live out the length of the plan so you actually wouldn't save anything at all, but would have an unlocked iPhone that you paid for.
