I think it's safe to say it has 2GB of RAM. If for some reason no site confirms before launch and you get it and it's butter smooth, no refreshing and all around super polished but you found out it had 1GB would you still return it? I'm all for 2GB but it's like complaining because a 200HP turbo 2.0L IS FASTER than your 500HP V8 6,000lbs truck. It's all about power to weight and how you use the power.

The problems will be evident later. I have a 4S with 512 MB of RAM I can't even play Apple Music and Clash of Clans at the same time.

According to some people here it's your fault to be running 2 apps at once. You should only run one at a time when you know it's ram intensive.

512 ram is already showing its age when games like fallout shelter won't even work on it. How some people will argue in favor of Apple if they stick with 1G of ram just baffles me.

Why is everyone speculating over RAM..

Why doesnt anyone just email Schiller or Cook and ask? Be polite, be nice, praise them a bit then ask, you might get a reply and you'll be the hero of the forum and all the news sites!!

This would completely spoil the current joy of tension and uncertainty.

I've just posted a mail to Phil and Tim too, i think if we all bombard them with the same subject line 'how much RAM' and he gets a load of emails he might even come out in the press and answer it lol

There are enough pointers to 2GB that I'm going to go for it on faith. Heck, I'd probably upgrade regardless, but like some others, getting 2GB is a big deal to me. Much better multitasking, faster page load speeds, and lower incidence of app crashes.

As I mentioned before, I really don't think 3D Touch Peek and Pop functions would work with adequate smoothness if they didn't upgrade the RAM this time.

I'm sold that it has 2GB also for the reasons mentioned above & also the fact that they implemented a new way to multitask between apps using 3D touch. Can you imagine sliding (from left to right) to the previous app just for it to reload ?!? Lol

This would completely spoil the current joy of tension and uncertainty.

It would spoil the fun but will also increase the chances of getting one on launch day

Basically those that want 2GB find out its got 1GB wont order one!!

Those that dont care about RAM get one anyway. Win Win

I'm always worried that too much hassle and you'll get the Apple Ninja Death Squad sent to your house ...

Another apologist.

What if the site has more than a photos loaded? Should I change my browsing habit?

The 512mb devices are already becoming obsolete with many newer programs not supporting them. Do you really think it's a "bad" thing to have more ram? Or is Apple's bottom line more of a concern to you?

what am I apologizing for? I want 20394802938409238409283TB of ram. not going to get it, but not going to leave the phone over it.

Not apologizing, but doing apologetics -- defending the faith, defending a negative policy

The problem is my Plus on 1GB RAM doesn't run fine. Web pages are constantly having to reload and I get quite a few web page crashes, especially lately.

I wouldn't trade it for any other phone but these new ones better have 2GB RAM or I won't buy it this year, and I always get the new one every year.

I'm not defending anything nor am I giving two sh*ts what apple does or sells. Im simply stating to someone that has a problem with safari: the ad blocker feature greatly reduces tab refreshes (on sites I typically use).

If it has 1GB of memory and runs just fine I don't see what the big deal is. If your all for specs why not move over to android where the specs look great on paper but the experience is terrible

1GB of RAM in the 6+ looks damned poor on paper but if it had worked ok then I'm right with you. Sadly it has proven itself to be desperate for more RAM and so your comparison to Android is flawed.

I'm not in the argument one way or the other, just explaining what an apologist is: someone who defends something, not someone who apologizes. Crazysword called you an apologist and you thought he said you were apologizing for Apple. And I hope you're right about the ad blocker feature.

For those of us looking three or four years down the road using the 6S or 6s Plus, it may matter a bit more, wouldn't you think?

I think it is 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM! LPDDR4 is 4X faster and has been available since 2012! But knowing Apple; they just buy the cheapest possible RAM and since they buy it in super bulk volume it like a couple of dollars for 2GB sticks!

At the cost of not helping my cause, I want this thread to die. iPhone 6S has 2 GB RAM, end of story.

Having it continue to remain prominently posted on the first page only confuses people. OP, at least consider changing the title.
I am not sure how to change the title of the thread in this new forum format. When I try to edit my OP, it only allows me to change the body of the post, not the title.

Any mods want to help me out here?
