Went to the apple store this afternoon and one of the workers checked out my 6s. I was eligible for the battery replacement and they signed me up for a new battery. Thanks apple, just kinda of ****** that I find out that I have a blue tooth problem with my phone though :(

Does anyone know why batteries cannot be replaced until after the 5th ?

I was told a couple of weeks ago that mine was expected on the 12th, but got an email today saying that it has arrived.
In the meanwhile had my express replacement arrive, so called the store to release the battery to someone else considering it's no longer needed...

How do you manage to contact the Apple Store direct by phone or email ? As every time I try to contact the Southampton store it just goes to the Apple support. All I want to do is call and ask if any batteries are in stock .

I can confirm that replacing the battery AND iOS 10.2b4 fixed my shutdown problems with my 6s. Replacing the battery alone still led to shutdowns at around 10%
with 10.2b4 i could use the phone until 1% for two times now. This was never possible before the latest beta, even with brand new battery.

Genius Bar lady told me how... when talking to the automated answering system, say you want to check your repair status and talk to the store manager, otherwise you'll be transferred to the generic apple support, and not the actual store! ;)

I sent my phone in Tuesday when I received my shipping box from Apple. Just got notification it shipped yesterday and is arriving this Friday AM. Guess they fixed it faster than their estimated time (the 10th). Curious to see if its the same phone or a total replacement since the rep said they didn't have batteries until the 10th...

How long does it take to get a shipping box from Apple? And is there a time frame on when you have to send it in? Meaning could I go ahead and request service, but not actually send my phone in until I'm off for Christmas break?

I just got my phone back. It is a replacement, under the 2nd year of warranty in Europe, Orange carrier. It is a brand new one, I don't know why they didn't just change the battery, maybe the battery is not the only problem...

Earlier this year I had a Samsung 128GB 6s with this problem, its first two replacements were also a Samsung and was doing the same thing. I had gotten a TMSC next that was working fine until last week and has started having shutdown issues again. My SN is in the range to be replaced. Glad to see the issue officially acknowledged, hopefully a new battery takes care of it.

I took my 6s in for the battery replacement yesterday. The man who helped me said they had just one in stock and set me up with an appointment. I came in, after the quoted hour of service, and they didn't have my phone ready. Problem was, the pull tab for the battery broke off so they could not safely do the replacement. Instead I was offered a replacement phone, which I happily agreed too. I just needed to erase my old phone, then take my new one home to restore from backup. An odd, but positive experience for myself.

Not sure you might have to ask the support rep that helps you. For me I got the box within a day or two. Got the box Monday, sent it in Tuesday and it just returned today, Friday. So they overnight it both ways so it's pretty speedy.

As for me, it appears they just replaced the battery with a new one. Still have my glass screen protector in place so that was a giveaway when I opened it.

Not planning to use the phone, going to put it on Swappa or save it as a backup.

My phone was received by Apple on Monday, and I got the repaired phone back today (Friday).

Apple not only replaced the Battery, but they also replaced the LOGIC BOARD!!! (as well as removed my screen protector), they also assigned my phone a new serial number. (due to replacing the Logic Board)

I find it strange they didn't just replace the entire phone with a warranty replacement.

Restoring from my iTunes backup, then I plan on testing it thoroughly.

I knew it couldn't have just been the battery! There's no way!

Guys, the thing is really really serious. Noone (official) has a clear answer about what is wrong.
Is it the battery? Is it the iOS? Is it the logic board? Don't you find this weird?
And I do believe that the replacement programme has been an act of "despair"...

My iPhone 6s Plus turns off around 10%. Sometimes I don't even know it is off until I try to use it, I restart it only to have it turn itself off again.

Strange.

Today my phone went from 58% to under 20% in a matter of minutes. This is getting really annoying, and I hope the new battery fixes it, even though other's say it don't.

Mine does the same sometimes, although not as quick.

Also, I notice that mine charges pretty quickly too sometime. Like faster than it should.

I've been trying to get a refund for the battery replacement fee I already paid to fix my eligible 6S. It's been a complete nightmare. 3 online chats and 2 phone calls, and I finally get to the right person (which is a senior advisor). They then tell me that because it's a refund, another department must review the case and approve it... which could take 4 weeks to get processed!!! Oh. And to issue the refund, they need to credit my bank account. So they need my routing number. I havent carried checks in years, so no idea what it is. They will mail me a check instead. Said it was an exception they would do for me. So I might get a check in 5 weeks. Yay me. :/

I should have just written the $80 off and saved the hour and a half crap show of "customer service".

I recently received a refund from Apple, and since the Debit card I used had been compromised, and my replacement card no longer had the same number, I went with the Account/Routing number option. (which you can find by logging into your Online Banking)

I received a confirmation of my refund within 3 days, and the actual refund direct deposited into my account within another 2-3 business days.

Had my battery replaced! Problem PERSISTS!!!!

I seriously don't think it's the battery that's causing this issue. It's definitely software, my iPhone 6S only started randomly shutting off after I had installed iOS 10. Apple don't know how to fix it, that's why they're replacing batteries. Convenient that this problem only began after the iPhone 7 came out.

I'm sick to death of this, can't even book an appointment to get the battery replaced because none seem to ever be available. 3 calls to Apple and have gotten nowhere.

This may sound silly, but could a software issue cause the battery to fail? Drawing too much current perhaps?

If so, then replacing the battery is only 'closing the door after the horse has bolted' and these new batteries will fail too unless the underlying issue is resolved.
