It was actually released in March. No one really knows when something like 10.3 would be out (likely sometime in the early part of next year), or if it will even have anything related to any of this in it.
If the rumored changes to iOS on the iPad are indeed coming in the Spring, I expect 10.3 to carry those and accompany the new iPads around March/April.

Just noticed the lags when closing folders, too. Its not the same stutter when closing apps, but lagging also....

Cmon apple, give us the update this week!

Give up.....Hell Apple hasn't addressed their iCloud push email failure yet...they SURE aren't going to address animations considering animations last worked correctly in iOS 6

Am I under right impression that the closing animation has been almost fixed?

Also the app switcher works better. It's less laggy, still not fluent. In landscape there is still a choppy animation.

iOS 10.2 b3

I am observing similar things. The app switcher is still choppy to scroll through, but it's better than before for sure.

The closing animation seems to have gotten *maybe* slightly a little bit better, but not by much. Something seems a little different but I can't lay my finger on it.

The app switcher "bounce" when you enter the switcher from an app is a little bit different as well but still definitely there.

I can't find any differences with it. The wallpaper still continues to move after the dock stops.

To be honest the more I use the phone the more I get used to this lag which is still present.

Damn apple.
[doublepost=1479200293][/doublepost]Also I think it is smoother on iPhone 7 than it is on iPhone 7+. On videos of iOS 10.2 b3 on 7+ the lag is much more visible.

I've played with my cousins SE for o while. I've remembered what an iPhone should feel like;)

Apparently it's not all iPhone 7+s?

This is driving me nuts... I'm on 10.1.1. Is it worth trying betas?

I know someone mentioned they noticed a difference, but could it be placebo effect? :p

WTF

It's any iPhone 7 or 7 Plus. All of them do it. Anyone who says otherwise has reduce motion on or just can't see the difference.

I was the person who said it seemed a little different but it was definitely placebo.

I'm going to see my friend's 7+ soon so I can compare. He says he doesn't see it :>
This is what my 7+ does
Are we talking about the same thing?
The app switcher and its scrolling is also slightly lagging...
[doublepost=1479520311][/doublepost]Disabling Magnifier triple click helped immediately. For now anyway.
I'm going to ask my friend to turn it on and see it he gets the lag.

Did you try it?

I made a comparison video with Magnifier triple click turned ON and OFF

Oh and my friend told me that he is experiencing the same issue on his 7+.

Yes we are talking about the same thing. You should see if you could get your hands on an older iPhone and do a comparison like that with the slowed down frame by frame thing! That would be interesting showing the smooth transition on older iPhones where the new ones have the extremely visable (especially once slowed down) jump in the middle of the animation.

I tried showing my friend the jumpiness on my iPhone 7 Plus next to his 5c (which has the smooth transition) and he couldn't spot the difference, so. It's very dependent on the person looking at the phone. Some don't care and don't notice. Others notice and don't care. Others notice and do care. I notice and do care but I've gotten used to it so it bugs me but not that bad anymore.

...but even with this Magnifier thing turned off I can still see A lag, but very minor. Both lags for me were random really, but 9 times out of 10, not every single time.

For the people who were complaining out the triple-click being turned on....

I found out a couple days ago that some iPhones come with that option enabled by default.

I had to get my iPhone replaced because of a bad camera, and the new iPhone had triple-click enabled on the very first boot!

So there you have it. I guess we can't give people a hard time for having an option turned on that they didn't even know about!
