This needs to be fixed ASAP. I really can't stand watching that stutter every time I close the app. I'm surprised its not big news everywhere cause its happening on every iPhone 7 or 7 Plus.

It's not big news because it's not a serious bug. The phone functions as per normal with blazing speed. Just a minor hiccup in animation.

But that's not to say it shouldn't be fix, it just wouldn't be top priority

It may not be top priority but its still high priority to me specially since this is a newly released phone. Don't they test their phones before shipping them? Do they noticed and said you know what, we don't care we'll fix it later, that's what bothers me. The past couple of years apple has been losing its quality and iOS has been more messy and buggy.

Admittedly yes, they've been really slow with bug fixes lately.

Just updated to 10.0.2. Did not fix it. How don't they catch it? The lag is very obvious and from what I see it's on all iPhone 7's.

I've turned on reduce motion for the time being because the animation was annoying me to much but yes be sure to file a bug report.

I see this stutter on iPhone 6s plus too. Probably this is iOS 10 issue. There is also severe lag in recent apps screen while scrolling through app cards. This is unbearable

Lets spam apple with bug reports about this....

I have to say reading this thread makes me atleast feel better that others are experiencing this as well as me, I went to the apple store and played with a demo phone just to see if it did the same and they did as well, seems worse when switching from safari for me, like the screen hops or drops down without smoothness, tried it on two 6's and they both updated to same software do not do what the 7 does. Drives me insane...just makes it seem glitchy, everything is quick and smooth then you switch a app and studder, it's jarring. I had hoped todays update would address it but nope.

Checked a 7 in jet black in the store. The homebutton had a delay on this device and there were no stutter when opening the app switcher. In the settings the homebutton click speed was normal.

The app closing animations had lags aswell

I don't think there is a stutter when you open the app switcher, but there is a quite a big one when you start scrolling through the app cards there.

Open an app and then open the app switcher by double press the home button. There will be a silly animation like bouncing apps

Mine doesn't seem that bad, nor does it bother me. My folders minimize perfectly smooth as well. Only the app minimizing on my phone.

I hate it, i need apple to fix this asap, i dont care if you call me picky, i pay 800 for something i dont wanna look at stutter
Same thing here! I ordered 7 plus to shift from Note 7. But after visiting app store and playing with display units there, I take my note device and it seems like a butter. Before it used to be vice versa. I used to be amazed by the smoothness of iPhones and Android devices used to have a lot of stutter. If they don't fix this by the time I receive my shipment, I might go back to note 7

I haven't spent a whole lot of time on my 6S Plus, but I did notice the lag you mention and occasionally I see stuttering when I turn it on and the app icons load. SE looks a bit slower, too, but I haven't caught stutters with animations on the SE yet. It was definitely after the first iOS 10 update. I haven't attempted any other subsequent updates.

My husband just read out a news item about Mac OS Sierra causing some serious problems for people. Really serious. Dang, come on Apple, this is very un-Applelike behavior.

I just got my replacement Note 7. It's definitely been a lot smoother. It's nice and I love it but there is still occasional lag and I've had a game crash a couple of times. I haven't seen any stutter or lag with waking the Note 7.

I'm sure Apple will fix this, though. However I am waiting to order an IPhone 7 until the stores are able to keep enough in stock to easily replace if I get one with problem.

This certainly isn't a big issue, but it's definitely annoying. My 6s Plus should not feel faster than my 7 Plus, and yet it does feel faster in most tasks. I've filed a bug report with Apple, hopefully others have done the same.

hmm... it's weird how this beast does lag.
has anyone tried to turn on the reduced transparency? I remember I did this before(iOS8) on the 6 Plus and it did improved a lot in terms of transition.

I have two iPhone 7 Plus models in front of me and only one of them had this animation bug. Of course, the one with the warmer screen wasn't doing it. I erased my phone and restored 10.0.2 from an ipsw file and it works fine now. Not sure why this even happened since I always start my phones as new. Hopefully that helps for some of you if you decide to go that route.
