Ordered a 128 GB Jet Black 7 Plus on 9/9 at 7:20 am EST - Online it says that since it was ordered before 8am CT that it should ship by 10/7 - just got out of live chat with Sprint and the rep told me this :

"Agent Tyler XXXX: According to our latest inventory update provided by our manufacturer your device IPHONE 7 PLUS JET BLACK 128GB will ship by 11/11 ."

So I asked him what changed as online it said it would ship by 10/7 and he said :

"I must inform you that our manufacturer , Apple just released a new shipping delivery date for this device and other models"

I hope this isnt true! Sprint live chat hasnt always been the most reliable source of information in the past.. but still doesnt make me feel good about it!

Think he was just quoting the shipping times Sprint updated today. If I understand how those work, they're for new orders from today on.

I called the number listed on the status on the order status page: 866-789-8292

I called that number which is Sprint order support. They guy told me 9/23 for my 7P 256 Black. He asked for my order number put me on hold to check inventory which could have been BS. Lol

I just called this number and was told that my order will ship NO LATER than 9-16 after Sprint's e-e-mail gave me a date of no later than 9/30. If it ships before I will have it Friday, if not then I will have it Monday.

I just got off the phone with them as well. I ordered the 7P 128 gb Black on 9/9 at around 1:20am PST(as soon as website was back up). I have the "will ship by 9/30". The rep told me that there is a backorder but he said that there is a very good chance i will get it sooner. He said they keep getting shipments and once the 16th hits, it would ship in 2-5 days. He said a lot of orders are just sitting in the warehouse right now so once they ship they will email a tracking number.

Im still hoping to get it on release day, but as other people are mentioning, it feels like Sprint just overestimated dates to keep everyone from being even angrier if it didn't ship on time lol

Was just told by order support on the phone that my iPhone plus black 128gb black is still in backorder but will ship by the 16th. Not sure if that's true but we will see.
 
I don't think any of the people that are picking up the phones and taking questions about the status of the order know much except what has been told to them. Which is basically the same thing, we have either in our emails or the order status.

I just got off the phone with order support and they said my order is currently sitting in "the warehouse" waiting for a shipment. The rep said it will be delivered Friday 16 September 2016. It should be getting a tracking number assigned to it either later today or tomorrow.

I ordered a 7 Plus 256GB in Black around 7am CST 9SEP2016. May the odds forever be in our favor.

Just got of the phone with sprint order support. call them they can find your tracking number for you.

How long did the call take? Just curious. Might try to do it through LiveChat on Sprint's website. I hate calling companies lol
 
I will personally be very upset if we do actually have to wait for our phones. We all stayed up until the crack of dawn just to secure our place in line, but Sprint being Sprint, they screwed it up and dropped the ball. If we held our side the way we should, shouldn't Sprint be working in overdrive to make sure that we- their very loyal and very-much-bill-paying customers- get our devices in a timely manner?

Sprint has made some dumb choices in the past (Samsung Instinct promotion, anyone? Remember that miserable flop?) and they have let their customers down too many times to count, but this one really has me frustrated. Especially because they explicitly told me that their servers were running updates (what exactly that would help, I haven't the slightest) in order to handle the deluge of traffic.

Honestly, calling order support is a waste of time right now, since you don't know how reliable their information is. Your time would be better spent trying to find someone on Twitter or Reddit that actually works in a Sprint warehouse to let you know where they are in the shipping process and what phones they have inventory of. Seriously. I did this the last two years and was reassured about receiving a phone on release day even though the order status said otherwise. I'm not even bothering with it this year because I'm not as worried as I had been in the past about when I'd get my phone.

When I called I disconnected the guy by accident and he called me back. But just to tell me 9/23 Lol.

That's complete BS, they should've alerted everyone right when the pre-ordering went up that the Jet Black models were not available. If that had been the case, I would've gone with the normal black.

Here is to hoping! I ordered the exact same kit as you but my order wasn't put in until 11pm on 9/9.
 
If we're getting the phone on launch day, will we know beforehand? Do we get a tracking number and/or email from Sprint?
 
By any chance did anyone order an iPhone 7 - 129GB - Black on the 10th? By the time I ordered mine it was around noon on the 10th. I've been told I have overnight shipping, and it should ship by the 16th. Anyone get an email about tracking who ordered their phone on the 10th yet?

The previous times I pre-ordered, I was shown that I'd receive the device on release day. However, I wasn't sent an update and/or tracking info until just a few short hours before the device arrived at my house.
 
I find it hard to believe that Sprint doesn't have a single Jet Black iPhone available for launch day. I've learned to not take estimated shipping dates seriously. My 4s and 6s Plus from Sprint all arrived on launch day with estimated dates at least a week in the future and I was able to pick up a 5s a few days after release even though they estimated that it would be 3 weeks until they had any in stock. (5s didn't have a preorder) Even my Apple Watch came a month and a half before it was supposed to when I was late to the game in preordering.

If I had to guess, anyone who falls in that 10/7 bubble for the Jet Black will be receiving it on launch day... or maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part. :confused:

That's the same thing I been saying. I can't believe. Its the newest color and of course everyone is going to want it...and the carrier absolutely has NONE in stock. Its just too hard to believe. I can see if it became backordered down the road, but that's not the case.
