That's the same thing I been saying. I can't believe. Its the newest color and of course everyone is going to want it...and the carrier absolutely has NONE in stock. Its just too hard to believe. I can see if it became backordered down the road, but that's not the case.
To be fair, even in the Apple announcement there was a little asterisk next to the Jet Black iPhones saying they would be available in limited quantities.

My bet is Apple didn't have enough time to meet demand, but still wanted to launch on time.

I can understand them having few on hand, but having none until 3 weeks after launch? I find that hard to believe.

well I ordered a iPhone 7 plus 256 Matte Black at 3:37 CDT (I was trying since the pre order started 2:00am CDT) my order email gave me the 23rd as the "by" date. I called Sprint twice trying to get a more definitive answer and every time I called they pushed my date back a week!

I thought I would stop before I was in November....

Best buy is now taking preorders for the 7 Plus devices as well...including the Jet Black model. We are telling customers that they won't be available till after Oct 7 as well. But this is for ALL Plus models...for what's its worth.

What about the regular iPhones, like the Jet Black?

I called that number which is Sprint order support. They guy told me 9/23 for my 7P 256 Black. He asked for my order number put me on hold to check inventory which could have been BS. Lol

True you know they probably telling people what they want to hear.lol

Saving hope! I ordered at 8:30p.m. on 9/9, but I wanted 2 iPhone 7 32GB - Black, I think my order changed?

I remember it saying something different and that it "MIGHT" ship by 9/16, now it says it WILL ship. Am I crazy?

COME ON SPRINT!

Based on the page: http://shop2.sprint.com/en/legal/os_shipping_taxes_popup.shtml?ECID=vanity:ship

The iPhone 7 for new customers looking for a 32GB Black is still 9.16, so here's to hoping!

These Sprint support people that you all keep contacting aren't given any insider info. They are told to read you the same dates as stated in the order page and they don't know any better than we do as to when we will actually be seeing our devices.

Also keep in mind the sheer volume of orders they have to fulfill.

Here's my two iP7 128GB order times on 9/9:
1:25A - 803451XXX
1:29A - 803452XXX

In the 4minutes between orders then 1600 other orders were placed. So, the number of orders between Midnight and the time you order is a whole lot of telephones. And while they may not all be Jet Black, it is the hardest one to make so maybe Sprint did get their initial shipments. They just didn't get more than 4 minutes worth.

I was given an earlier date than my order status shows. Whether that is true, I guess I will find out. It probably just depends on who you talk to.

I got into sprint website around 6:50am (central time)wasn't able to place an order after many many attempts untill 10:20am. Upgraded to Iphone7+ 128gb Jet black, got an ETA of 10/21.
Got my order in at 3:30 AM CST and got a ETA of 10/7

New Sprint Customer Here!

Coming from T-Mobile prepaid, after doing extensive researcher the past 3 days or so, I canceled my Apple order and decided to switch to Sprint. I hoping for the best with this network.:)
[doublepost=1473684178][/doublepost]Also, I just made an order for the 7+ 128gb Matte Black, like everyone else my order also says shipped by the 9/30. Hoping that just a place holder and we'll get it sooner.
Yes, you will definitely need hope, hope that they will get their crap together. E.g. Service, coverage, website...

hopefully it's because they are getting their s*** together and adding everyone'a tracking information lol
Yeah I gave up on launch day or any where near it couldn't order through Apple because of iPhone forever program so according to sprint I'm waiting till November which sucks. They won't even let me cancel and chose a new color because they stated a phone has already been assigned to me I just want to know how with a 2 month wait Ugh I ordered the 7+ jb 128gb

I did some looking into how many iPhones your average airplane can carry... oh, let's say a UPS 747-400 for example. The answer? A metric crapton, to be precise. At least, around a whole lot more than a few thousand. As I write this, there are roughly 1,000,000 iPhones in the air... though I'm being modest, as I think it's the better part of 1,200,000. But what's an extra 200,000 iPhones? Most are currently leaving Anchorage and heading to Louisville. There have been many phones transported just today alone, and there are still many more to come.

I write this for a couple of reasons-

1- With that many phones (remember, that number is just RIGHT NOW, and it only makes up a small portion of the total number that are/were/will be moved this week) in the air, there are bound to be more than just a small handful of jet blacks. I sort of thought that phone would be on the lower end of availability, due to its manufacturing process probably taking more time and still being fine tuned, but also because of extreme demand. So hold out hope for at least a few more to make it through than what is being predicted.

2- This one is important: These phones are on their way to their main hub. Louisville is the center of the earth, according to UPS. No, really... go look it up. Once the phones are there, they'll be processed in, divvied up to their respected zones, then sent to their final staging areas where they will await either another flight to their rough delivery destination, or, as is the case with me (yay), kept for more localized delivery. Louisville is kinda, sorta, maybe a little close to me, so shipments like this are typically held there up until the very last minute. So to anyone in the midwest- if your phone is on its way there right now, it may just sit there until tomorrow night. Then, when the UPS elves put their magical hands on your new iPhone's box and lovingly chuck it onto the conveyor belt of lost and found dreams, you'll get a tracking number. Maybe. If not, it will just show up. THEN you'll get your tracking number.

I personally think that this is going to be the case for most people, though the jet black phones will be harder to predict.

That... doesn't make sense. If they have a phone assigned to you, that means there is a physical device sitting somewhere with your name attached to it. They're not going to keep a device sitting in a warehouse for 2 months. They would lose all kinds of money doing that. So either the person you spoke to had no clue what they were doing, or you have a device on its way, but it may be in the later shipments. But they'll be moving devices out of warehouses as quick as possible to keep making money. Sitting on them is a total drain on the bottom line.

i think until people see their real shipping dates, they will continue to agonize and post questions and hold out hope for more information, then when friday comes, they will either be very happy or very upset

Yup. So let them be. I kinda thought that that was the entire reason for threads like this in the first place.

Just a heads up... Best Buy just added 22,000 iPhone 7 Plus to their inventory. The inventory now shows the 128gb and 256gb Jet Black orderable/in stock (in store only). Just got this info from a District Manager. This shows me hope that these sprint pre orders will be filled

at this rate, I'm about to just go join the "I gave up hope for a 9/16 delivery" thread.

just kidding. I know it will most likely be delivered on Friday regardless how much I check, but I just want an update dang it! No change since ordering! Give me something! Anything!

This gives me hope that the 7Plus Rose Gold that I ordered in the Sprint Store on Friday will be there on the 16th!
