Well, like I said, I needed a change up from always having black faced iPhones. From seeing it online, looks like the white border makes the colors on the screen pop! The add in me loves that. Anyway, I have no problems with sprint on the regular, but it is quite ridiculous the way they are handling this pre-order business considering other phone company's have their act together. It's like, your a cell company, this is your job. Is sprint run by clowns? Shame. Ok, I wish all of you luck with your phones. I know waiting and not knowing sucks. We will all get our phones eventually and be happy. If they pull out some amazing tricks for the iPhone 8 next September and I'm locked out of upgrading I will be pissed. I'll have to look into that later. Good luck everyone!:)

Also, wanted to add that I have had all black faces iPhones before. Changing it up to the white cuz the thought of looking at another black phone was making me crazy. White's good, right?;)
After years of black iPhones I went with white last year just to shake things up. Overall its okay but I prefer black.

My experiment was over and this year I was all set on getting black again but last second chose.... pink.

I figure that having white two years in a row will make next years Jet Black 10th Anniversary Super Mega iPhone X look even more special.

I have the 9/23 shipping date. I think I'll see mine like 9/28-9/30. No hope for Shipping Friday.
If my buddy has his Plus Black 256 from a store reservation on 9/9 I'll be hot. Lol

anyone realize when you get the jet black iPhone actually in your hands for about 3-4 hours your minds going to change up I mean ya the fact apple changed up but yea all in all those finger prints are going to be everywhere ( for the OCD people ) lol.... but well see on launch day in my eyes jet black with the high of gloss to it just brings back 3G days.........

This reads funny to me. If I ordered before 11am on 9/13 (I did) it will ship by 9/23.

However if I ordered later, I could get it on 9/23.

I believe I know what it implies but it certainly doesn't make an effort to be clear or reassuring.
 
They charged me immediately as well then it dropped off got charged again on the 12th and it posted. normally they only charge you when they are about to ship it so I don't see how they charge me now and make me wait till November? Unless this is normal practice i don't know lol

Glad I'm out of the country and don't care that my pre-order won't be delivered until 11/11. Also phone pre-orders are a little different than other pre-orders in that they are usually a week or two before release. I pre-ordered the PS4 and Xbox One almost six months before they launched. I pre-order video games sometimes up to a year before they are released. So waiting a few weeks or longer is nothing to me.

I get it, everyone is different and expects to get the phone at that time. I look at pre-orders as a guarantee that I will get the product.

I ordered the 7+ 128gb Jet Black.

I don't use a case and always get Apple Care Plus, so I'm not worried about damaging it. And my plan is to get a new iPhone every year. If that wasn't the case -- if I had to make the glossy iPhone stretch over two years -- I would've gone with the flat black.

But there's no way I'm missing next year's big redesign, so I went with the hot new color, for once.

ya man I agree forsure but just the Gloss is what really kills it I cant imagine how much times ull have to clean it off a day
 
Sprint charged my card yesterday but no tracking, Jet Black 128Gb + . Did they charge anyone else?

They charged me on Monday for the tax and $100 for each phone. ($360 total). I ordered two 7+ 128GB (black & rose gold).
 
I sent an email to that person and received a call back from someone at Sprint corporate confirming that, even though my order went through BEFORE THE PHONE WENT ON SALE, it probably won't be arriving until the first week in October.

The guy who left the message said he ran that by the warehouse, although the date he gave was Oct. 7, the same date I received when I ordered the phone.

This is the 256GB Jet Black Plus, FYI.

I know most of this is all just anxiousness and fun, but some people are starting to get pretty upset at Sprint for not delivering on a date that they never promised. Sprint said from the start dates like 9/30 and 10/7 so why are we getting upset that were not getting 9/16 deliveries? :D

Ive seen the terminals that the Sprint employees use to check order status and account info and they dont have much more info than we do. So contacting Sprint is pretty much saying "Hi, please log into my account and make up a great story about when my phone will arrive or else I'll yell at you."

Same. I do believe it though. She couldn't explain why the status update says basically that no matter when you ordered you'd receive it nearly the same time. She was unapologetic and was perhaps the final straw for this whole ordeal. T-mobile offers nearly the same price for what we receive with better coverage & speed. It's no so much receiving the device as Sprint itself dropping the ball with us once again.
 
So I called the guy back. Nice fellow called Nick.

My question was: Will the very first person to place an order for a Jet Black Plus in 256GB receive his/her phone on launch?

Nick said no. Sprint did not receive any high capacity Jet Black phones from Apple to deliver on launch, at least according to Nick.
 
I'm not trying to tell anyone to stop the discussions because this community complaining is the online equivalent to physically camping out for a new phone. But it is interesting to watch the mob mentality that many of us are participating in. Sprint made a promise of dates like 9/30 and 10/7 but somehow everyone is getting agitated at them for not delivering on 9/16.

I know that most of us are just venting out of anxiousness and boredom (and fun). But so far then nothing thats happening is any different than what we've gone through for the last 4 years. Lots of worrying and frustration followed by a delivery date that is much sooner than Sprint estimated.


(BTW. Ive seen the terminals that the Sprint employees use to check order status and account info. I'm surprised at how similar it looks to our account interface. I really doubt Sprint employees have much more info than we do when it comes to tracking orders)

Here's why people are venting. When I ordered it said NOWHERE that I wouldn't be receiving the phone at launch. I would've gone with other, better options had I known I wouldn't, and now it's too late to do that. So it's not like there's no deception on Sprint's behalf.

I ordered a 7+ Rose Gold 32G online late in the day on 9/10. Tax charged on 9/11 (according to my CC company; 9/10 according to Sprint). They also pinged my card for the cost of the phone, then refunded immediately. I'm assuming that's a credit check. I was due for an upgrade, so no other charges thus far.

Since then: No shipping information. No change in status since 9/10. No hope remaining for a release day delivery.
