I don't see what's wrong with those terms. Of course they can't ever promise a model availability or date. But as I said in earlier comment, they wronged those people by placing them in a separate queue with much fewer inventory. Therefore, they are just trying to undo that now. Equal opportunity 🙂

Can you not read? Don't need to Google squat. I just posted the exact quote from Apple's documentation about the program. Problem here is you've latched onto a couple of pieces of information and just playing parrot without doing any research to back it up. I think you need to be doing some Googling.

Agreed.. The Matte Black is slick.. The case I originally ordered (Spigen Neo Hybrid) ended up being just a tad to thick on the bottom to work with my ProClip mount, so I have the Spigen Thin-Fit on order now from Amazon.

What's worse is he bought an iPhone 6 16GB for $250 thinking he can trade it in yesterday and pre-order the iPhone 7+ 🙁

Tell that to the people at Tmobile, Best Buy and others who now aren't getting THEIR devices because of that move.
 
well i'm getting my 32gb gold 7 plus 9/19-26 iPhone today.
partner is not getting his 128gb JB 7 plus 9/19-26
daughter is not getting her 128gb BM 7 plus 9/15-9/16

they both are ok with it, they say they can wait. i did the phone orders for them and now i feel bad.

I place blame on Apple and T-mobile for the issues with the Plus not being available.

Apple: I'm reading that they didn't anticipate the black/jet black Plus to be as popular as it is, or the 7 would be this popular. Here is the fault with that argument: There are NO plus phones in black or jet black anywhere. Normal production would have produced some of them, but it is almost as if they didn't make ANY in time for the launch. Noting it was available for pre-order when the product is NOT available at launch is deceptive. They could have easily noted in the Keynote that the Black Matte and Jet Black versions would be available in October, and then if supply was available, send it earlier than the estimate. I don't know of anyone who would be upset getting it earlier than the shipping estimate, but they surely will be if it is late.

T-mobile: Not being able to handle the numbers. The system crashed at 12:15am on the 9th and many, many customers could not pre-order. Then promises were made and not kept about phones being available on launch when it was not confirmed they would have the product to satisfy those pre-orders. In my lowly opinion, when T-mobile noticed a problem with supply and demand, they should have released an email to those customers (or text) noting what is going on: let your customers know we initially were told we would receive them in time for the launch, but Apple has delayed delivery. In my opinion, transperancy is key, and while you will not please everyone, having CSRs saying different things to customers in the age of social media is not an effective communication policy. Just be honest, and upgrade your IT!

YES -- it is pre-installed. However -- if you want to use the new pre-installed SIM, you'll need to do a SIM change -- and the online SIM change tool is down and you need to call customer service to do a SIM change. I just swapped out the pre-installed one and installed the one from my 6s and I was good to go.

Meh, I'm not mad because I knew what I was in for - totally random order fulfillment. If you absolutely must have an iPhone on launch day, you pre-order from Apple and hopefully get the order in before the dates slip.

Pre-ordering from the carriers is risky business because they don't know exactly how many phones they're going to get. Their shipping estimates mean nothing.

Let's face it, the reason most of us ordered from a carrier this year is for the deeply discounted upgrade deal. The people in charge at the carriers know that too, so they know they're not going to lose significant sales if they screw it up.

The only thing I'm worried about is whether that $120 upgrade from the 6+ to 7+ will actually happen, or whether T-Mobile will screw up the trade-in and give me the $195 they "promised". Note that so far, nobody anywhere, EVER, received a written promise to receive 24 months of $27 credits. We won't know for like 2 months and I'm betting really good odds that I'm not going to get the $27/mo credit for 24 months because I have no confidence in their process.

I agree with that. I am not at all saying that Apple isn't wrong here. I am just saying that from the 'collective satisfaction' perspective consisting of the entire customer base of pre-orders, this was a right move after the fact that a mistake was made. This doesn't make Apple any more "right" in the first place but this is certainly the right thing to do to correct that mistake.

Online SIM change is down. You need to call if you want to use the new SIM. "We are currently improving the digital SIM change experience. To activate your new SIM card, please contact Customer Care by dialing 611 from your T-Mobile phone or toll free at 1 (800) 937-8997."

Snipped for clarity. I agree, this is where the ball was really dropped. Tmo just wasn't ready for a launch/preorder day inundation. Apple should have waited a week to release, but even so tmo wouldn't have been ready for it had they waited. I "completed" an order at 4:10am eastern time that started at 3:01am. It wasn't the fault of the poor woman I was on the phone with, it was the system going completely bananas... something that could/should have been avoided.

I suspected trouble with my order and called back a few hours later and wouldn't you know it, they'd lost it somewhere. This is just not how a functional company runs its' business.
