This is the thanks us Londoners get for carrying the rest of the country on our backs :p

Only joking!

You near ealing? I'm near that area and it's 20th Oct

Spell out Apple on your keypad and you'll get through to the big man himself!

Near Ealing? How about IN ealing... well I live near Hanger Lane to be specific...

Hello. Been lurking since the start and have replied to a couple of comments but just thought I'd give my full sit rep.

Woke up early for the pre order, couldn't access the store until around 8:15 ... I'm based in West London BTW. I was able to wizz through the preorder process as I have all my details saved on autofill. The confirmation email came through around 8:18 for my iPhone 7 + 128gb in Black. When I first got to the site the dates were set to end of September. When the email confirmation came through it said between the 4-10th Oct and that hasn't changed since then.

I hoping that, seeing as the UK is one of the launch territories, we will see a large stock boost this week... I always seems like Apple way over estimates its deliveries in order to surprised and delight customers when products turn up early. I cannot see a situation where they don't have at least 10 million of these units produced already.

I think we will see a lot of positive changes this week... hold tight for America to wake up.

I ordered my black 128gb plus at 13:34 on Friday and I have the same 4 Oct to 10 Oct. i'd of thought mine would be a lot later than yours considering you ordered earlier?

I really hope you are correct, sir! Everything crossed!!!

I have an iPhone 7+ Jet Black 128gb on preorder, email confirmation at 8.10.

Same, even tho mine says 27-29.
But strangely even the watch is still processing, no money taken or held, and says delivers the 16th.

did anyone in here manage to order a phone for in store pick up on the upgrade programme? I haven't seen/heard anyone in the UK be successful with it yet

I've just noticed that they've changed the buttons on the Apple leather cases, wonder why they've done this?

Hello gang, just thought I'd share my experience to date, seems similar to many - I ordered about 08:15 on 09/09, I wanted the 128gb Black 7 Plus, but I could see they were already 2-3 weeks dispatch so went up to the 256gb which was still showing as 6-8 days dispatch at the time.

On checking out it was still saying 6-8 days dispatch, but 'delivers on' was 27-29 Sept...

Since my original order, I've subsequently checked my orders and can see the 'Delivers' has changed to 20-22 Sept as shown. I see in the forum some peoples 'Delivers' has changed and some hasn't. Definitely a bizarre and inconsistent approach from Apple.

I did call Apple (30min wait) because I saw my shipping was 'standard shipping', and I wanted to ask if they could change to like... 'better than standard' (I didn't see any alternative delivery options when I ordered, but I wasn't sure)... Bodrick@Apple who I spoke to said they can't change anything after the order has been placed.

I assume they only offer 'standard shipping'?

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but has it been confirmed that Apple are taking payment from those customers who have reserved phones for pickup in store?

My friend was charged last night for ones he's picking up on Friday and to make it worse, they've taken it from his default card register with his account.

This is what he said:

Just called Apple and they said that the process has changed this year. They had problems last year with people reserving them and then bothering to go in and buy them, so it's first come first served with payment this year.

Not sure many people aware if this is the new process.

Same here as well no activity on my credit card at all and it's still processing as well. Usually the amount is allocated but nothing yet. I preordered a case from Tuff-Luv and they've processed that already.

That's because you're outside of London.

As far as i can tell from my data (due to the speed of sales, it's really tough to say for sure) - they're using the same stock for both reservation systems though, which makes it a bit different to the usual Apple Store pickup process, as the stock was already allocated to the store before people paid for it.

I think they just wanted to speed up in store pick up by having people pay online before hand so staff can concentrate on iPP.

Also noteworthy: Around 6:46am each morning Apple have been adding new stock to the reservations (Sat/Sun). This includes Jet Black 128GB iPhone 7's (no other Jet Black models though - i've been hoping for a 128+)

On Saturday, the stores which got stock of these Jet Black 128GBs were (time in brackets is how long it took for stock to deplete):
6:46am: Bentall Centre (25m), Milton Keynes (20m), Bromley (20m), Trinity Leeds (10.5m), Meadowhall (15m), Grand Arcade (15m)
6:51am: Covent Garden (6m), WestQuay (20.5m), Victoria Square (45.5m), Apple Watch @ Selfridges (10.5m), Festival Place (30.5m)

Today (Sunday) the stores were:
6:46am: Bullring (26m), Bluewater (20m)
6:47am: Covent Garden (10m)

(Edit: Times were one hour out - GMT/BST issue!)
this is super handy to read! Do you know what stock milton keynes got? May have to keep waking up early and hoping MK gets more. looking to get the 7+ 128 in black.

(does this mean the actual time was 7:46 AM)

Yes, in-store pickup is charging before collection.

However you can still reserve an iPhone without an upfront payment if you haven't got the cash available immediately (like me).

You do this by reserving for the iPhone Upgrade Programme, and then on arrival asking to change it to full upfront payment in-store.

I did around 08.30 on Friday Morning. A 128GB Rose gold 7 plus. I cancelled it because my home delivery order is moving along and is due for delivery on Friday. Also I don't want to do the upgrade programme, I just want to buy my phone out right.

Yes. I eventually figured this out. I've reserved one and I've been charged. I guess they've changed the process so you can't just reserve one and then not turn up. Once you pay, you're pretty much forced to go and collect it.
