I'm supposed to be sending off my iPhone 6S Plus 128GB to Envirofone by the 23rd and have a 27th-29th estimate still on my Matt Black iPhone 7 Plus 256GB. Does anyone know if they will extend the date for sending on request? Trying to figure out otherwise because the price has lowered by £30 since my quotation.

They offered without asking last year when it got close to the end of the 14 days. Am hoping they will do the same this year. I 'rebooked' on Monday but notice this morning that my model has dropped £15.

Not sure whether it's been mentioned here yet but John Lewis are allowing you to order from 20:00 tonight to collect in store on launch day.

They are currently showing Jet Black in stock for 7 128gb.

Their customer services also told me they have good stocks in branches on launch day so will definitely be work they a visit as a lot of people forget about them lol.

I've bought my iPhones from there in the past as you get a 2 year guarantee as standard - 1 year longer than Apple's for the same price.

The 2 year guarantee is good..........unless you plan to sell and upgrade next year. Though I see many people pass their previous model to a family member.

Back on topic for a second... :p

I haven't actually seen anybody else apart from me with a Friday pickup/delivery time from Apple of a Jet Black device (please, don't think your CPW/EE/whatever receipt is worth the paper it's written on).

I've got reserved two 4.7" Jet Black iPhones at my local store to pick up on Friday afternoon. Lucky me. (Well, I am highly paranoid that something will go wrong because according to @RazorD's data they were the only two the store ever got, and I suppose two phones out of thousands could go missing/stolen/broken. But hey what more can I do than reserve at Apple! Hopefully it goes fine.)

So now I'm being ultra-sad and planning where to take some hopefully gorgeous photos of the Jet Black finish and get them posted on this thread! :p

#ShotOniPhone7

Agreed if people just took the time to read 2 pages back from the end the question they have will have been answered.

We could almost do with a top post on every page:

- NO IPHONE + BLACK MODELS FRIDAY
- JUST BECAUSE VERY / WHOEVER SAY DELIVERY FRIDAY DOESNT MEAN THEY WILL GET STOCK.
- IF APPLE SAYS DELIVERY ON 16th YOU WILL GET IT ON THE 16th

Anything else?

Yes no walk ins!

Just took order of my Apple dock, tan leather case and Spigen flex case for my Gold plus . I like the new buttons on the side of the case.

7+ 128 showing as preparing for dispatch for Friday delivery - as others have said this means it is in the U.K. And hopefully DPD will be delivering it for me.

...it's happening!

What a delicious selection of goodies to have delivered!

It almost makes me want a gold iPhone!
That leather case is such a nice colour.

Thanks for sharing. :)

think we should all be putting in our signatures which model of phone we've pre-ordered.. will avoid the "my delivery status has changed" and the inevitable "for which model?" replies.

(yes, I'm guilty of not doing this either)

  • NO WALK-INS
  • NO QUEUEING
  • NO CHANCE OF SWAPPING RESERVED 4.7" SILVER FOR 5.5" JET BLACK
  • IT IS POSSIBLE TO CHANGE AN UPGRADE PROGRAMME RESERVATION TO ANOTHER PAYMENT METHOD, OR UPFRONT PAYMENT, IN-STORE

Sorry about the formatting I'm on holiday so using my mobile.

Except there definitely will be walk-ins for some models, and there will definitely be queues at every Apple Store ;)
I have a feeling they will tell you to make a reservation online first.

Why?

Scenario: A few devices left in stock. Reservation possible online. Walk-in customer wants to buy model at the exact instant reservation made online. Whoops - one iPhone sold twice.

Edit: You might think the same thing could happen with in-store pickup, however you can only do pickup when there is "good stock" of the product you're after which is more than 10 from what I gathered during Pencilgate.

The system is smarter than that - if stock is that scarce, it won't show online. Each store will always have a few in reserve incase a customer has to return due to a fault and they need it swapped.

I'd put a month's rent on saying each store will have at least one of two of every model they have available on launch day (so, probably not Jet Black pluses, and some stores didn't have any Jet Black normals too) for walk-in customers. Those hardcore queue-ers who prefer to line up for 12 hours than try and rush a reservation system.

This has absolutely been the case at every iPhone launch before this one, and this isn't the most sold-out iPhone launch by any stretch.

Seriously questioning my choice of 32GB now I've installed iOS 10.

My iCloud Photo Library now takes up 18GB of local storage. Fair enough it's over 13000 photos, but I was hoping it would not use up so much with optimise storage.

Has anyone ever gone through the process of exchanging or returning one?

Can it be done in store or do I need to do it online?

Ugh. I was sitting here with a collection date (from O2 store) of 21st September, thinking "hmmm, wonder if there's ANY chance at all of it getting moved up to release date"...

Looked over my confirmation email from O2, and I must have misread it first time round - the date is 21st OCTOBER, not September!!

Absolutely gutted :(

Same phone as me, and we both have really early confirmation emails, so if anyone in the uk will be getting Apple orders of that model on launch it will be us! The game isn't up until Thursday night, it's unlikely we will get them on launch but always hope :)

I ordered the 7 Plus 256 gb black and had confirmation at 8:03 - still showing as 27th-29th September as well

I will bow to your superior knowledge on the subject but I was always under the impression that paid-in-advance in-store pickup accounted for scarcity and removed the pickup option, but that the separate reservations system ran at 100% availability (not accounting for the odd spare due to DOA devices).

Additionally I spoke to the staff of two Apple Stores who said there would simply be no queuing allowed, and no walk-ins. Again, I know they don't have the best track record for reliability! :)

Yep. 32gb is a waste of time... Apple only offer it for the price point.

My CPW saga has finally ended, I had a 'last straw' moment & cancelled my upgrade through them. Despite being at the front of their queue I've jumped ship onto the back of EE's waiting list just now.

Carphone told me a bunch of contradicting things, but the gist of all their made-up estimates was "Apple aren't giving us any Plus models for launch, we don't know when we'll receive any. It could be the end of September. It will probably be the end of October" and maybe even longer delays for all colours and storage options. EE seemed fairly confident that even by preordering today I'd receive a Silver Plus model within three weeks of launch & beat the price CPW were offering, so that's my new plan. Good luck to everybody with a non-Apple order hoping to receive their handset on Friday, it's chaos out there.

I've just read in the US/Euro thread that someone with a matte 128 plus has just managed to find their UPS tracking and their phone will be here on Friday. Still plenty of time for us ;)

Do you use iCloud photos? I have 37,853 photos and 613 videos on mine and it uses 14gb!!

But I use iCloud photos so it stores thumbnails on my phone and downloads the full resolution when I open the photo up.

Great way of carrying all your photos around
