Hello

Just wanted to ask those with past experience with ordering from Apple directly. When the delivery window is set at 4 to 10 October, do they usually deliver on the earlier dates or will likely wait until the last few quoted delivery dates?

Ordered a 256GB iPhone Plus in Black.
Don't know if it's any consolation but when I ordered my Apple Watch it was a 4 week estimated delivery and I got mine within a week didn't order it on launch about a month later. When I spoke to apple today they said that as soon as stock comes in to fulfil orders they would be send out. To put it in her words "Apple loves to surprise its customers"

Quick update on the "Unlocked" stock showing on the availability matrix.

It means that store has run out of available slots to setup your iPhone Upgrade Program contract, but still has stock. You should be able to reserve with full payment via the Apple Store online, or just walk in on the day and pay in full - but that stock may just be treated as walk-in stock so will probably go quickly in the morning. :)

But what you see, she sees. Does it still say "Processing Items" for you? If she said it's preparing for dispatch, she's probably just saying that to calm you down.
Your sig says Apple Watch Series 2 reserved.

How?

This is exactly my issue with this launch. Frankly the right thing to do would have been to make clear the thr Plus models in black finishes were not going to be available at launch. It is about setting people's expectations appropriately.

How about your expectations?

They've sold a billion iPhones, many people of all ages / incomes the world over would trade body parts for a shiny new one - my expectation was that 'it might be a bit busy' to begin with and that hopefully I'd be somewhere near the front of the queue, though not necessarily the first.

I just checked and mine has been added to my support profile, serial number and everything!

Mine too, I read somewhere that means it's been dispatched but not updated on order status page. Also if payment has been taken then they say it's been dispatched also.

I'm sure everyone is about to post this. But I just got a call from Apple about my online order. Asking me to confirm it was me placing the order and that I would get a Confirmation & Shipping email shortly.

Iphone 7 plus, matte black 128gb.
20th - 22nd showing on website.

You can't deny that there should have been some sort of warning.

Personally I would have added a note like the abrasions warning, or at least rephrased "Available 16/09" to "Starts shipping 16/09". Or added an asterisk with "*Most models".

The centrepiece model of ALL the branding for the 7 was not available on launch day. That's never happened before that I can recall.

Sorry. Not reserved. Pre-ordered. My bad.

iPhone 7, Black, 128GB. Pickup at 0815-0830 on Friday. Norwich.
Phew!

Ok just noticed on the Apple Store app, if you are picking up from store there is no entry on the progress bar for dispatched. It goes from progressing to ready to pick up and then picked up. So we won't see it change until overnight Thursday I guess

Confirmed £240 for my iPhone 6 64GB from Musicmagpie, well happy with that..

I'd use SimplyDrop - I just sold the same phone as yours (last week got £293, price now £245), posted phone on Monday, delivered to them 11:15 Tuesday, email from them 12:30 Tuesday confirming BACS credit processed and money in my account by Thursday - I'd never use anyone else, 3rd phone I've sold to them and similar good experience every time.

This is strange, never heard of this happening from apple.

I've didn't get a call when I ordered my 6.

It was a number from wales, I simply told them yes that's my order. and they said thank you with no information exchanged obviously.

It's been happening to LOADS of people. Very routine. Usually a call from Cork, Ireland or Austin, Texas. Someone hypothesised it was for orders over £2k but it seems it's just for orders that the Apple system flags as potentially suspicious or unauthorised.

(Fortunately Apple seems to be one of very few companies that manages to flag for suspicion without interrupting your order. Many times I've ordered from John Lewis, had the item never arrive, and then find out they cancelled my order for suspected fraud with no warning.)

Good to hear that I didn't just have a quick chat with some random person then.

Thanks for the info.
