I'd use SimplyDrop - I just sold the same phone as yours (last week got £293, price now £245), posted phone on Monday, delivered to them 11:15 Tuesday, email from them 12:30 Tuesday confirming BACS credit processed and money in my account by Thursday - I'd never use anyone else, 3rd phone I've sold to them and similar good experience every time.

Not heard of SimplyDrop before but will keep them in mind going forward, thanks :)

I'm sure everyone is about to post this. But I just got a call from Apple about my online order. Asking me to confirm it was me placing the order and that I would get a Confirmation & Shipping email shortly.

Iphone 7 plus, matte black 128gb.
20th - 22nd showing on website.

Dang, just before I read this I ignored a call on my landline from an unknown number and now rather wish I hadn't! Did it show a number when they called you?

How annoying are the " Told you so " people on here

Everyones took a chance just wanting there phone no need for the sarc comments :D

Extremely! 100s if not 1000s have preordered from Very and there's only a small minority of them on here so it'd be interesting to see how many others like me are (hopefully) getting theirs on Saturday as now advised.

You can't deny that there should have been some sort of warning.

Personally I would have added a note like the abrasions warning, or at least rephrased "Available 16/09" to "Starts shipping 16/09". Or added an asterisk with "*Most models".

The centrepiece model of ALL the branding for the 7 was not available on launch day. That's never happened before that I can recall.
Yeah, this is pretty much how I would have expected them to handle the situation.

I certainly cannot remember a launch where the highest profile model was not even available at the start.

There was this referendum earlier in the year. You may have heard about it. Pound plummeted in value...
And largely recovered (some folk made a bucket load of cash out of it too)... Although the trend over the past 24 months has been mainly downwards anyway.

I don't know fella, but I'm sure there'll be Apple Execs no happier about it than any of 'us' and there will be heated discussions ongoing.

There will be a lot of middle management in Supply Chain getting caned to produce as many phones as fast as possible, but there can never be enough available with such a short lead-time from production starting to announcement to Launch Day. If they've likely made more units than ever before and it's *still* not enough then that's a successful launch ...

The distinct difference here was there were ZERO Jet Black Pluses available for launch day, and that was the only phone used in the marketing! Not enough is understandable, of course. Zero is a lot different to not enough.

This has never happened before. The closest comparison I can think of is the higher-end Apple Watches. They were 4-6 weeks from the get-go. But the only difference was the strap, so it isn't really comparable, and the backlogged models were never pitched as "the" ones to get.

It dropped from 1.42 to 1.32 the day after. Today it's at 1.32. The drop has, not coincidentally, pretty much been adjusted for by Apple's price rises in the U.K.

It's been happening to LOADS of people. Very routine. Usually a call from Cork, Ireland or Austin, Texas. Someone hypothesised it was for orders over £2k but it seems it's just for orders that the Apple system flags as potentially suspicious or unauthorised.

(Fortunately Apple seems to be one of very few companies that manages to flag for suspicion without interrupting your order. Many times I've ordered from John Lewis, had the item never arrive, and then find out they cancelled my order for suspected fraud with no warning.)
Strange, I have never had this happening to me before, I have ordered few things from Apple before that was over £2000 and no call, only time I got a call (not from Apple but my bank) was when I ordered the iPhone 5 yrs ago, thank you for the details.

Yeah I've never had a call either and I can't imagine an amount limit that I've not reached! Haha

I think it is related to if the delivery/billing/Apple ID addresses don't match up.

Hell I have 4 iPhone orders, and that's over 2k, I wonder if they'll call me this time XD

Just got a text from the apple store saying my Black case is coming tomorrow :)
That must be a mistake, Apple never gives products before their launch day.

OMG I did the exact same thing, BT Caller ID picked it up as an unknown and I didn't answer it. I'm guessing it might have been Apple. But my delivery isn't expected until 26th Sept - 3rd Oct.

Due to me being i'll yesterday (and today) i didn't post the photos of my new midnight blue silicone case and dock

and as i said i'll be receiving my Black silicone case tomorrow and hopefully if i'm all ok i'll post some photos :)
