I honestly can't remember how I did it last year as I was on holiday and had crap Internet. I had my iPad and iPhone open. The iPhone on the app and the iPad on the website. It might have been the website that I got through to make the instore reservation.

And yet your up this early on the exact same forum that people who have got up early to pre-order are also on, now that's irony! Also It's more like Apple know that they are not going to have enough iPhones, especially the Jet Black.

With delivery you maybe charged fairly early on, usually it's a day or two before launch, however Apple often ring fences the money from the time of your order.
With in store pick up you can opt for a time that suits you, I'm pretty sure 8am is an option and depending where you need to be at 9am maybe it's an option for you (last year I was in and out by 5 past 8), if not then just select a later option slot.

Completely.

I've been lucky enough that this year, and the year of the iPhone 6 Plus that I've been able to buy outright but before that I was dependant on the carriers and getting it through them! They leave it so late and not always the best 'experience' through them either!
 
Morning chaps! To confirm, I simply go on the Apple Store app at 0800 and reserve my iPhone?

Seems too simple ...
 
Was going to get the Jet Black but after seeing live videos of it alongside the normal black, the black wins hands down for me. I'll trust the opinions of the vast people who have had one in their hand and noticed some of the scratches already surfacing. 128GB 7+ is what I will be getting. Just hope the frickin' app store updates on time.

ANyone know a way to refresh the app store?

Erm I'm still an apple fan with an active interest in Apple products. But a spade is a spade and apple have already done their damage control.
I am up because I'm commuting to work as I always do at this time every day.
All I'm saying is every single one of you will get the model you want. This is not going to sell out. Mark my words.

In some hands on video footage I already saw some scratches on the jet black, or atleast oil off fingers that make it appear to be scratches. There is now at the jet black is going to stay looking good, yet it will be a big seller because it's the new colour.

Also, the only good way to refresh the App Store would be to close it and re-open it.

Oh yeah I imagine they'd take the money by Tuesday. So I have to decide by then. My son is having his jabs at 9 am on Friday morning so I can't go to the Apple Store before. It's about an hour and a half away too. My husband might be taking the day off as he has an appointment at 12.30.

The jet black will likely sell out pretty quickly, you may very well be right that others will get the one they want easily enough.
 
Anyone else getting Apple Care Plus?

AppleCare now has a £25 excess for screens and £79 for all other damage. That appears to include if you need a replacement phone. The non-AppleCare prices are now £146 for a screen and £306 for a replacement phone. So well worth having it now, just incase of 1 accident as so expensive to replace phone these days.

Just allocate a time that is good for you. The good thing about in store collection is that you go when it's a good time for you, there is no waiting around either in queues or for the delivery driver.

True I did this last year and it was a breeze. I'll just do it again. I hate waiting for deliveries. I always get angsty lol unless it's DPD as they have 1 hour time slots.

People can get contents insurance on their home (which includes accidental damage to their gadgets) for less than the cost of Apple care.
