It ludicrous that people who might have only been a matter of minutes later, in my case because the stupid app wouldn't show anything, have been stuffed right to the back of the queue when it comes to one model & colour. I didn't get this issue last year with the app.

iPhone 7 Plus 128gb Black marked as PFD and payment captured on my card, on another note, has anyone ordered a case from apple? Mainly the tech 21 case, they seem to be taking ages to dispatch it, both the phone and case (separate orders) have the same delivery window

Does anyone else's new iPhone 7 plus make a clicking noise when you push the bottom of the front casing? Also when gently twisting the phone? Was going to take the phone under water but this worried me

My payment was blocked by Halifax for fraud prevention on Friday last week. I was regularly checking my order status and that's how I found out. I got it authorised by Halifax and then the payment went through straight away. My status changed to preparing to dispatch about 4-5 hours later and I still got my phone today.

I don't know what is up with the banks this year. They seem over zealous.

Thanks so much for the reply dude. Puts me at ease a little haha!

The funny thing is that Lloyds literally didn't know either.
She said, on the system it was because it was too much money from an ATM...

Then proceeded to tell me to swap cards just incase. Shouldn't be that difficult to order something these days.

Does PFD mean that payment has been taken? I paid via the app with Apple Pay and they my old address was listed for billing. Phoned up Apple and got it changed, but the old address is back so I'm hoping it went through as it's listed as PFD!

spoke to apple because I didn't recognise the last 4 digits of the card.

However what the live chat person didn't tell me was its perfectly normal to have the "wrong" last 4 digits. because I used Apple Pay.

By the time I found this out it was too late, they had removed that as my payment option and I gave them my credit card directly rather than via Apple Pay.

I have had a £1 hold on the card but nothing else.

So I rang Halifax, who I must say are excellent with their customer service, and the lady confirmed it had been flagged and she has un flagged it. the problem is that apple have removed that payment and are re-trying with the same card but who knows when they will retry.

The most annoying thing was if I had been told that the last 4 digits are always different with Apple Pay it would have been an easy phone call.

So the long and short of it is:

Who knows what will happen now!?! If I was really really lucky it may get put through and go through ok soon. If not he said they will try for payment on the 20th.

I am waiting on live chat again to see if they can"push" the payment through but I am not hopeful....

Interestingly enough when I spoke to the halifax I asked if there was a way of giving them a heads up about a substantial purchase and she said its totally random and automated so theres nothing they can do. Which explains why in April I successfully used my debit card to pay £7000 for a car without an issue. Yet a £819 phone causes all this.

I have said it before but this launch has been such an utter debacle, I actually feel exhausted from all the calls, panicking, logging in and out, so lucky I have had the week off work to deal with it today. Really rubbish launch year this year
I know it's ridiculous. I've spent much more than £819 in one go and Halifax didn't bat an eyelid. Heck I've even used my card abroad without telling them I was travelling. No issues.

My 6 does this and i have no idea why... but this is 2 years old, don't think it should happen to a new one though.

I was told last year that I could swap my silver 6S plus for a gold one in the same configuration. I even rang up the store which had the stock and they confirmed that I could. I never did because I had morning sickness and couldn't get down to the store.
Well hoping to just swap out for a black, lets hope they get them in for reservation in the morning.

Spent ages waiting to finally get connected then my internet drops out!

I don't think this phone is meant to be. Literally everything including the kitchen sink has been thrown at me today
At least something went wrong for your status to not progress... mine is golden but no movement, ordered before some of those that have had movement, feels like I've been queue jumped, grrr.

Those who's shipping dates were showing around the 22nd are rightly seeing their orders start dispatching.

Those with orders of 4-10th oct, me included I feel are unlikely to see a change at the end of next week at the earliest if not after the 25th. Unless the estimated date moves forward, I fear were have another 8-10 days wait.

If apple have ramped up production of the larger black variety of phones, they probably have enough to fulfill these first batch of orders we're seeing moving today. Remember apple will need to produce enough handsets to fulfil the next batch of orders and clearly we are not the only country in this position. Once they have a palette/container ready for the UK, us 4-10ers will see a change.

My current thinking anyway

Ok. I've officially given up with trying to restore this phone. It's stalled again at 81 apps and it's getting horribly hot.

For credit card fraud detection, items like phones are high on the red alert list to flag as suspicious. Espically if a large item like an iPhone is outside your usual spending pattern. You informing your bank or card provider about an impending spend does not automatically authorise the purchase, it just allows the agent who picks yup the referral of your transaction to make an informed decision on its validity.

Using your card in person, be it abroad or buying a car, typically means you've put your pin in, thus providing a greater level of authenticity of the purchase.

I ordered through Vodafone and Apple. Decided to go with Vodafone but it was too late to cancel my Apple order.

I refused delivery of the iPhone with UK Mail (to the shock of the delivery driver). I assume it will go back to Apple and they'll issue a refund? On second thought, should I have accepted it and then returned it?

I am actually glad they flag transactions. But this one time has caused me so much aggro (still waiting for a live chat rep)

Doesn't look like my issue will be resolved any time soon

Just coming back from picking up my GF's 7 and I could not be more impressed with how quick and easy signing up for IUP was. All done via their handheld systems and all in all about a 10 minute process.

Also, I got chatting to the Apple guy and mentioned I was still waiting to reserve a 7 Plus. A guy behind him said he had a reservation for my exact configuration that he doesn't want but the Apple guy said they could not transfer reservations but it meant there would be at least one of that config available at 6AM!

So I spoke to apple. They tell me Apple Pay has caused them and the banks huge issues.
He took my card and expiry date and the £1 authorisation went through fine and immediately. Order is still showing as 'processing' but delivery still on 20-22.

Hoping it's not going to go tits up now. I had zero issues with the Apple Watch bought at exactly the same time.

The banks are freaking out because of the £1 authorisations made but are only valid for 3 days so they need to be tried again. This is probably causing the blocks and things.
