iPhone 7/7+ - UK Orders & Dispatches Thread

Even from my limited testing it's clear that the front facing camera is way better than the Galaxy S7's. Very obvious difference in clarity and sharpness that was immediately noticeable. The iPhone captures way more detail for selfies.

The rear camera I haven't really had time to compare properly. From the looks of it it's very close to the Galaxy S7 camera. Samsung wins in focusing speed no doubt. In turn, Apple's photos don't seem to suffer from the over sharpening that Samsung's can. Can't judge colour balance as haven't viewed them on the same display yet. The real test will be low light.

The stereo speakers are louder and better than the S7's mono speaker. In terms of the display Samsung wins - I think that will suprise no one.

It will be interesting to see battery life. S7 has been very good from my experience in this regard.

I just can't get this phone set up. I've given up on doing a restore and I'm trying to set it up but it won't let me download any apps. It keeps saying that iTunes terms and conditions have changed and sends me to iTunes to accept the new terms but then it says can't connect to iTunes. If I can't download apps then the phone will have to go back.

Does anyone else's new iPhone 7 plus make a clicking noise when you push the bottom of the front casing? Also when gently twisting the phone? Was going to take the phone under water but this worried me

I had that on my old 6 Plus. It was like the screen would click down a bit? Bugged me for all the time I had it. If it doesn't feel right take it back.

Ok I'm just going to send the phone back as this is ridiculous. I've been trying to set this thing up for almost 7 hours and I'm not getting anywhere. I can't even set it up as a new device.

So I spoke to apple. They tell me Apple Pay has caused them and the banks huge issues.
He took my card and expiry date and the £1 authorisation went through fine and immediately. Order is still showing as 'processing' but delivery still on 20-22.

Hoping it's not going to go tits up now. I had zero issues with the Apple Watch bought at exactly the same time.

The banks are freaking out because of the £1 authorisations made but are only valid for 3 days so they need to be tried again. This is probably causing the blocks and things.

Mine was apple pay and had the same...Hopefully now ive switched to a normal card it will go through. Thanks for the info.

keep me up to date mate, The lady from Halifax did say her colleague has called apple and they have said they are having major issues their end as well.

Be interested to know if yours moves or mine doesn't! I am on live chat now, weirdly got the same person I was speaking to before I was cut off.

I ordered through Vodafone and Apple. Decided to go with Vodafone but it was too late to cancel my Apple order.

I refused delivery of the iPhone with UK Mail (to the shock of the delivery driver). I assume it will go back to Apple and they'll issue a refund? On second thought, should I have accepted it and then returned it?

Why on earth are you going with a phone locked to Vodafone when you could of had an unlocked one direct from Apple?

I suspect their servers are overwhelmed, If it was me I would switch it off for a bit (I know its easy to say as I don't even have one!) and give it a rest for a couple of hours.

Sounds like Apple have been on server meltdown today, Barclays, their own, Banks etc etc

Vodafone was on contract. Apple was outright purchase.

Mine was the same and the bank told me that Apple had imposed a limit on my Apple Pay purchases and that was why it was failing to authorise. Rang Apple and changed to debit card now back in Processing again

Went to preparing today and have fingers firmly crossed for Monday (although range starts tues) as working from home on Mon then away with work!

Well mine went for preparing to dispatch last Friday and was dispatched yesterday however I think yours will move onto dispatch and delivery quicker as Apple were obviously holding them back for launch day. They couldn't ship them any sooner. In your case they can be shipped as soon as they are ready to go.

On another note my app downloading issue was randomly solved. I was able to accept the terms and conditions on my 6S plus and now my 7 is able to download apps.

If they don't have stock, you won't be able to reserve it.
