iPhone 7/7+ - UK Orders & Dispatches Thread

I got all excited this afternoon when I received an e-mail from Apple, only for that to turn to disappointment after finding my payment had failed, and after retrying several cards and contacting my card company (who couldn't even see an attempted transaction) I eventually called Apple and I guess expectedly was on hold for almost 40 minutes.

Explained all this to Tim (don't think is was the main man) who said it looked a little unusual at his end, but he couldn't change the payment details or take a different payment card. He then updated the order on the system and it processed without any issues. Very strange. Anyway, still showing as processing and delivery between 26 - 3. Tim did say that the 3 would be the latest date I should expect to see it, and it's more likely than not I'll have it closer to the 26, if not before.

Shame not to have it to play with today, but I guess that's an extra week or two where I can't put any scratches on it :D

Yeah, quite annoyed that lots of people with orders later than 8:05am have all seen status updates to preparing to dispatch and getting tracking numbers... mine is still stuck on processing. No payment issues or attempts that I can see.

Wow. So they seem to be shipping way ahead of the estimate.

Awesome! So they're obviously hacking through these pre orders pretty quick... hoping the 4th-10th october estimates start to come forward!

Really? If your phones being dispatched from China then they would need to dispatch pretty soon now to meet the 20th - 22nd estimate. Hope you see some movement soon.

You won't. It doesn't. It's something retailers do all the time. Mostly we wouldn't know about it but we are obsessed nutters so we are finding this stuff out.
 
I picked mine up in Watford thus morning. What a journey. A normal 45 min drive turned into 2 hours with bad traffic. My appointment time didn't mean diddly squat. I was in there for an hour. First queuing outside for 20 mins then inside for 35. People were moaning they needed to get work. Oh well at least I have my iPhone. They didn't ask for any form of ID either.
 
Ok, well my friend Dave from DPD delivered my RG 128 iPhone 7+ and I love it! I would say though that this is more of an iPhone 6st than an iPhone 7 really. I moved from the 6s 4.7 to the 7 plus, and used an S7 edge for 2 weeks after I sold my 6s, which was great for getting used to the bigger size, but I hated the software (apart from the always on display). Changes in my work and eyesight have persuaded me to move up to 5.5, so it feels like a bigger upgrade for me. The camera is amazing, the home button is great as long as you just press it as usual and don't think about it. It is super speedy, and the stereo speakers are not bad at all. I also appreciate the shower proof-ness. Just my initial thoughts, but having been on android for a couple of weeks, it was iOS I missed the most. I'm very happy overall :)

Received my 7 Black 128GB this morning from Apple. Everything was going great unitl 3D touch suddenly stopped working. I tried everything I could think of but no dice. Went to my local Apple store and they managed to swap it for an identical one that had been pre-ordered but cancelled so I was lucky. The staff were quite surprised and were not really set up to give support for 7's yet.

3D Touch is on the 6S too, so I don't think the bit about staff not being set up to give support for the 7's is accurate at all.

Not that it matters now, but I think a factory restore would have solved the issue.

Yes. My 6S plus. I've ended up doing a half restore from back up and then I stopped it as it stalled and then installed the rest of the apps manually. I still got all my settings, emails, messages,photos, calendars in the restore. It installed 81 apps and the other 110 I did manually.

I checked my order earlier and there was a red message saying failed payment..i phoned the halifax bank and they saw an attempt at a 720 payment but there was nothing wrong at the banks end..they said it must be at apples end the way they were processing it..
Anyway im still at processing stage and i havent phoned apple yet.. i dunno what to do de dum..
I havent recieved any emails either..weird..
