I was going to buy from John Lewis as they give you a 2 year warranty, but they seem to only be offering the phone with a selection of cases so didn't bother. Pre ordered the matte black 128GB 7 and Product Red Apple leather case from Apples website, it's still being processed though and has been for a few days.
amazing, thank you, i've seen folk buy second hand phones before from exchange shops and they still have data on, like the email in imessage. it didnt even ask me to turn off find my iphone :/
I think you always were advised to turn off find my iPhone and iMessage manually otherwise the device could still receive your messages as it's tied to the device ID rather than phone number.

Just called JL. They said Cheadle has stock of 7plus but not online. Just arrived at Cheadle and they said no they have never had 7 plus stock since launch and there are none in their distribution Ctr either.
I know for a fact that's JL's systems are a little outdated and having a huge upgrade, thus, could be a result of this.

With the iPhone 4 launch Apple warned people in advance that the white version was delayed so wouldn't be available at launch. All they had to do was say something similar for the Jet Black Plus. Pretty sure there was virtually none available world wide for launch day, just a small handful here and there.
You could only use the iPhone Upgrade Programme if they had in store stock so there is an important differentiation between launch day and sometime shortly after. If there is no launch day stock then you couldn't use IUP, and is no way to queue until some do become available, you just have to keep trying every day which isn't brilliant from a customers perspective.
I understand it is a huge complicated logistical nightmare, but Apple made the Jet Black iPhone the main focus of their keynote and website, they knew stock was incredibly limited by anyones standard so they could have done something to manage expectations.
If I could do IUP online and then be given a delivery estimate I'd be really happy to wait, but they don't let you do that.

Why on earth would you put that on a brand new £800 device. Words fail me.On a separate note, these protectors arrived today ahead of my phone- they come with an installation tool etc and say they are for the 7+. Do these cutouts look right? It's mostly in Chinese so I'm hoping they are right.

It's due to their outdated systems. They are going through a £100 million upgrade ATM. They use stock systems from the 90's and have many many systems for checking simple things.
when i log into find my iphone from another device, its now picking up my new iphone as the same name as the old.

I've just cancelled a reservation at Leicester Highcross for a 128GB black 7 if that helps anyone. I assume it'll pop up on the site soon.
