and i cant find my minion ring tone. its not there with the restore.. and Zedge doesn't seem to exist anymore... waaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

My ringtones also left town with no sign of where they went!
There is a free app to make an iPhone ringtone from any song, but you do have to faff around with iTunes to get them to work.

The only thing I can think is maybe some people are behind caches, or their browser is caching an old version of the availability data. I make sure i'm not getting cached data, and was loading it every few seconds this morning so we could see how quickly things sold out.

Unless someone wants to show us a reservation of a black or a jet black iPhone Plus, i'm going to stand by saying there was zero stock of either today, anywhere in the UK (from 6am to now)

Apple helpfully provide the data as one big blob which I process after i've captured it, so it's not like i'm checking each store and each model. I get the exact same snapshot of data that powers the reservation site.

The site went live between 06:01:03 and 06:01:16.

It's stupidly long, but here's the raw data.

I think the tool that you have created is excellent!

Although, I am beginning to wonder if it is picking up every device? I happened to check my local store (WestQuay, Southampton) through the Apple site just now and noticed that a 7 plus 32GB silver appeared. This was at approximately 12:15. This wasn't there this morning. Anyway, just checked your website And it hasn't shown up? It's definitely not cached, I ensure I waited for the next update.

Any ideas?

Cancelled reservations do not show up as available until the next morning at 6AM. I was at the Highcross store picking up my girlfriend's 7 yesterday and a guy in there told me he didn't want his reservation for a 7 Plus 32GB Black and that I could have it if I wanted. The Apple Store employee said they do not transfer reservations and that, if he cancels, his phone would be available on iReserve at 6AM. It wasn't, because there were no black Plus units anywhere in the UK this morning. But all the same. That's not how the system works unfortunately.

Good on you for not settling just so you can have a phone sooner. That's such a moronic thing to do and I've seen it too much over the past week or so. Just WAIT guys, you WILL get the config you want soon.
Don't think this is true. A friend cancelled their reservation and 5 minutes later it showed as available.

Just going by what I've been told and what I've experienced. Either I missed out this morning and they're WAS one available, which I doubt, or he didn't cancel his reservation. Of course, the other option is that they didn't make his phone available again. Maybe someone in-store got it.

Words fail you? No ones died. I was asking a question.

I'm travelling a lot for work over the next few weeks- planes trains and automobiles and hiking and working at the same time. The fact it's a 800 quid device is exactly why I'm putting that on it.
It's just a horrible looking bit of plastic, i understand your requires but just get a normal screen protector? A friend had one of those applied and it just looked and felt terrible

Did you get it? I've just been to the MK Apple Store and I wasn't on the reserved list when I got there! Showed them my printout and email with the QR code on it and they told me that the reservation system had somehow allowed people to reserve stock that they didn't actually have. Anyway, long story short, the manager did actually find me one in the end but I wonder how many went away empty-handed...
Same thing at Meadowhall, reservation system wasn't supposed to be live for them but I managed to get one when they did!

Its glass.
It cost me 6 quid.

If it looks crap I'll throw it away.

I always use them for a week and then give up.

My phone was due for delivery today but didn't arrive. Rang parcel force and they basically told me it looks like the driver didn't bother to deliver it today because it would of made him late back to the depot.... now have to wait until Monday.

Okay, thanks for this. I'll dig into my data and see if there is anything i'm missing. Maybe Apple are returning something that I'm not detecting as meaning stock but their system is...

Same thing with me this morning in MK - 7+ 128Gb in Gold. Manager somehow managed to 'magically' find the phone for me and said "It's probably someone else's reservation but we'll cross that bridge when it comes to it". Initially offered me a free case and they honoured that offer after they found the phone as well so ended well for me in the end

Did you order directly from Apple?

Royal Mail for an iPhone? That's unusual!

Is this an Apple order? Can't believe the JBs are beating the mattes!

i ordered via very.co.uk

I have a Matte black coming next week directly from Apple, is it possible to refund it in store and join the upgrade or payment program for the same device?

Were you able to reserve it? (You can always cancel a reservation)

I've checked my data (i'm loading every 60 seconds at the moment) and the stock for every minute is shown as "NONE" (Raw data below).

I'm not sure what's going on. It's possible Apple have different cache servers which are returning different things I guess, but that would be pretty bad as it means people are seeing different stock.

I've changed my code to load every 30 seconds for a few hours and we'll see what happens. Also, I notice there are 2 different possible URLs which you can load the data from (one on cdn-apple.com and one on reserve-gb.apple.com), and it seems like Apple have changed the one they're using for the reservation site for today - I was still loading reserve-gb and they're now using cdn-apple.com, so maybe there's a a discrepancy between the two!

Either way, let's see what happens. Sorry if i've missed any stock that people were hoping for!

I am complaining because Apple over-promised and under-delivered as I would with any company that did the same. Not quite sure why you're so keen to bend over backwards to defend them on this and then insult anyone who disagrees with by insinuating they are petulant and a child.

Exactly what did they over promise ? Where are the promises ? I'm not bending over backwards I'm just giving my opinion (the same as you are) and my observations about the many childish and petulant posts in this thread because some can't have what they want NOW !!

I called Apple this morning to check there were no other issues (yet) interesting the lady told me it wasn't even the banks that were throwing a problem - it was the Bank of England not accepting the encoded keys and not passing them into the banks. They didn't expect so many transactions.

That they failed to point out the black models would be a late release and in limited supply. It looks to me that they were just to trying to capitalise on Samsung's difficulties with the Note 7 with this rapid release after announcement.

If I order a phone to collect via the upgrade programme link when I get to the store can I pay it in full?
