iPhone 7/7+ - UK Orders & Dispatches Thread

Like I said earlier we all have differing views on what 'late' and 'limited' are in the context of a new worldwide phone release .... my question still stands what did they over promise ?

Agreed - this is so tiresome.

Apple Corp exists to provide its shareholders with the maximum return on their capital invested, end of chat.

Neither customer nor supplier owes anyone anything other than what's agreed in the terms of their sales contract.

The phone was announced, preorders to open a week later, with the FIRST of those preorders to START arriving FROM the following Friday.

You want one? So do a lot of other people too it turns out - you may need to wait, tough ****. Take a ticket, sit down & shut up.

Don't like that, or can't wait 3-weeks? - don't buy one then. It's a slightly better phone, not a liver transplant, get a grip.

I've managed to reserve a 32gig 7 plus just now on the upgrade program. Will they let me buy it outright instead?

This mess up with the card and Apple Pay not working has worried me and there will be another 'issue' to sort.

I had a problem with my order not processing..i phoned apple up today and the woman re took my credit card details over the phone..she also openly admitted that alot of people are having problems buying the phones with the apple pay option..im still on processing with a delivery date 20-22.

Don't put a picture of a Jet Black Plus next to "Available 16 September" on the non-US sites. Simple.

My 128gb JB 7+ is still showing processing, with ships in 2-3 weeks, with a delivery estimate of 4th-10th October.

As the days go on, the magic is beginning to fade and I'm wondering whether I made the right decision. selling my 64gb 6S+

I've had every iPhone since the 4 and even had the original 2g. I've queued for iPhones, I've ordered them online and even been successful with the reservation system for in store collection.

This year feels a little flat. Phone looks great and I've always enjoyed the incremental S models. Maybe I'm just wondering whether I should just wait for the 8, or just stop worrying about having the latest greatest phone as soon as it it launched. I'm thinking of canceling my order and buying a 6 from eBay (essentially going backwards)

If the new phone release leaves you flat and one from eBay solves your problem then go for it !

Thanks for the info. I'm hoping because Apple know this was a major problem for a lot of pre-orders. They're going to do what they can to resolve the issue.

Was told a £1 authorisation was approved whilst on the phone for the new payment method but nothing ever showed up as a pending transaction in my Halifax online banking for it.

I was excited as I saw a £1.50 international charge appear, and I haven't been abroad in a couple of weeks so thought that might be something to do with Apple, turns out just a Bambooti skin I bought for my MacBook Air a couple of days ago.

Were you able to reserve it? (You can always cancel a reservation)

I've checked my data (i'm loading every 60 seconds at the moment) and the stock for every minute is shown as "NONE" (Raw data below).

I'm not sure what's going on. It's possible Apple have different cache servers which are returning different things I guess, but that would be pretty bad as it means people are seeing different stock.

I've changed my code to load every 30 seconds for a few hours and we'll see what happens. Also, I notice there are 2 different possible URLs which you can load the data from (one on cdn-apple.com and one on reserve-gb.apple.com), and it seems like Apple have changed the one they're using for the reservation site for today - I was still loading reserve-gb and they're now using cdn-apple.com, so maybe there's a a discrepancy between the two!

Either way, let's see what happens. Sorry if i've missed any stock that people were hoping for!

I'll be honest, I never actually tried to reserve it. If one pops up again, I'll do so and send a screenshot.

Who's to say there wasn't any stock of it in the UK? Not everyone uses this forum, and even people that do, don't necessarily go into all the threads or make one just to gloat.

Unless Apple come out and say outrightly, we don't definitively know.

Also, Apple did say there would be limited stock. Limited could mean only 3 in the whole country or could mean 200.

I'm travelling a lot for work over the next few weeks- planes trains and automobiles and hiking and working at the same time. The fact it's a 800 quid device is exactly why I'm putting that on it.

I've got a cheapo glass screen protector from eBay on my 7 plus at the moment. It's ok. It cost £1.99. I applied it myself. It's just as good as the one I had on my 6S plus which I paid £30 for including installation in one for those phone repair shops. I'd rather have it on than scratch my screen.

re: yellow/warm screens: Wasn't there some issue with the 5S having a yellow screen on a lot of the first models that then resolved after a few days? Could be the 7 has a similar issue.

My thoughts exactly, there's no chance of replacement stock and it's only two tiny specs of dust. The screen being warmer will take some getting used to.

I picked up my JB 7Plus 128GB from John Lewis Trafford a couple of hours ago. Just finished restoring. Absolutely love it!

Whist I was at Trafford I popped into Apple and had them apply one of the new Belkin Invisiglass Ultra screen protectors (glass is Corning). These are in store only and don't even show up on Apple or Belkin UK websites.

Screen protector is absolutely perfect, very thin so you hardly notice, and Apple Store applied using their special machine thing! Expensive (£24.99) but would highly recommend!!!

I'm intrigued with the screen protector. It sounds very tempting. Mind sharing a photo of how it looks on your iphone?

What a depressing post.

People should be welcome to vent on this community forum without fear of someone like you telling them to shut up.

People are allowed their opinion and your interpretation of Apple's responsibilities is only as valid as the next person's.

What is tiresome is the relentless defence of Apple no matter what they do.

This isn't a court of law. People can and should express suppositions and beliefs in the spirit of friendly debate, even if you think they are wrong or self-indulged.
