Ive got a Black 7 128GB being delivered tomorrow but I've changed the way I want to pay for it and would prefer do the monthly payments options. Can I take the phone that is being delivered into a store and they'll swap the payment method over? If I can't do that do I just reserve via the Iup route and then when I'm there I tell I want the monthly payment not the upgrade plan?

Sorry if this has been already answered but I've been away on holiday and can't read through all 300+pages.

Yes. The Store can do an online refund and sell it back to you with IUP.

Well, didn't you say it has two specs of dust and a warm screen? ;)

I'm sure someone will snap it up and be delighted. Well done for not whacking it on eBay for £2k! :)
It does have two tiny specs of dust under the camera lens however, the screen is fine having changed the tone settings. Given the dust I'll just head back to JL next week and see if I can get an instant refund as suggested below.

To add some balance to the Jet Black debate I could not be happier with mine.

I'm not sure what people are doing with them to scratch them so much. So far I've been using it normally: it's been in and out of my pocket, on restaurant tables, in and out of a car dock, all normal things. And it isn't scratched.

I see what Apple means by the micro abrasions. There are a couple very very fine marks, a few millimetres in length, that you can only see in half-light. In normal daylight, or direct artificial light, you can't see them. You have to really strain and get just the right ambient shine to see the marks. It's quite strange.

If Apple never mentioned it this would never even be discussed. People would just notice the fingerprints.

I'd probably disagree with that last point. The world is out to try and find flaws within newly release phones. That's why you see countless videos of drop tests, waterproof tests and scratch tests. Someone would have very quickly realised it and once they did, the news would have spread like wildfire. It's not as bad this year because of Apple's disclaimer of the micro abrasions, so they have already dodged a bullet with that one. Remember, we are talking about the same people who go as far as bending their phones to see if the phone stays in the bent shape afterwards! The discussions of scratches was always inevitable with the announcement of JB, Apple just made it more forgiving by confessing to it before anyone even got the phone.

Having said that, I am very happy to hear that yours is going well :) I checked out the matt black in the Apple store and personally, I instantly knew that I made the right choice (for me). Besides, it's going straight in a case anyways, so whether it's JB or Black, nobody will even know lol.

Very have given me a UPI number alongside my Royal Mail tracking ref. Does anyone know where a UPI number can be used? Apparently they don't have supplier tracking...

I don't see how that would be possible. I guess they could refund the phone, and if not opened and then sell it back to you on iUP. Not sure there processes would allow as the refunded phone might not go back into their stock straight away.

But either way you should be able to reserve that phone easily enough this week for pickup. And just straight return the other one.

I was told over the phone they can do an instant online refund and sell the device back to you.

Ahh good point. It's annoying how every reviewer and YouTuber talks about the Jet Black like it's some fundamentally flawed design that you should avoid at all costs. Not that it seems to be impacting demand...

FYI Belfast, Victoria Square is the only Apple Store in the UK with iPhone 7/7 Plus stock right now. That's so dumb for two days after launch. Where are their shipments???! Unless there'll be huge shipments tomorrow morning...one can only hope!

I think that's more to do with Sunday trading law than stock levels! The other stores' reserve systems have closed for the day. :)

Ah could well be. TBH most stores are likely closed right now. Didn't think about that.

Gosh... I really wish I could see some movement lol! my matte black 256 has been PFD for days now and still not showing in my support profile. I have the 20-22 Sep 'window', but due to the app ignoring my 'preferred delivery' which was set to work, its delivering to home. I have cold, genuinely phoned in sick on Friday and likely will need to tomorrow (Monday)... as much as I want my phone asap, all I truly want right now is a delivery date so I can work out if I can be 'legitimately sick' at home (Mon/Tues), or if I should attempt to book a specific date off work. It's killing me LOL. Knowing my luck it'll be Thursday. Can't risk being *cough* "sick" for too long as a won tix for the Apple Music Festival for Wednesday (One Republic) which I don't really intend on missing if I'm well enough - although to call in sick that day then be seen going out in the evening would be very naughty!
Problems problems...

Yep the only ones normally open now are Regent Street and Belfast.

And Regent Street is being renovated and so is closed permanenty.

Hence only Belfast showing reservations. :)

Good afternoon everyone

Well, I'm going to be one of those really annoying people who changes their mind. My silver 128GB 7+ arrived with me on Friday (on pre-order day there were no matte black available and so I thought, as I already had silver, it would be fine for me) and I love it BUT really can't get the matte black out of my head. I live in the boonies and nowhere near an Apple Store so phoned for advise.
Passing along this info. The person told me that we are quite entitled to change our phone just because of wanting a different colour but, if I can't get to a store they can't do it with release models. All I can do is order another one (2-3 week wait now) and hope it arrives before the end date for me to send the silver back.
The interesting (and potentially helpful) bit was that there are going to be more and more phone available and the lead times should be dropping towards the end of this week so I'd hopefully get it in less than 2-3 weeks. Of course, it maybe rubbish I'll have to wait the full time but just passing it along

I ordered a matte black 128gb model from Carphone Warehouse this morning and got the DPD shipment e-mail shortly before 5pm. Should be here tomorrow as advertised on their website but I think Tuesday is more realistic (hope I'm wrong!). Anyways, because of that I ended up cancelling my Jet Black pre-order for 3-7th Oct delivery.

Hey, I'm interested! Any way you could send me some photos? I work right next to London Bridge. Cheers!

Was that the Plus ?

In two minds about keeping my Black 32GB iPhone 7 +, having had the Gold iPhone 6 and 6S Plus, I was going to go with Gold again this year, but ordered the Black instead. I won't make a decision until the phone arrives, but what would I be best doing if I want a Gold one instead, going into my local Apple Store and exchanging it? Sending it back to Apple Online? Or selling it on the likes of eBay, Gumtree etc.?

Anyone else's iPhone 7+ Jet Black moved from ZhengZhou, China? Mines been stuck at an arrival scan for over two day now.

Mine is similar, but a day later:

ZhengZhou, China 17/09/2016 21:28 Arrival Scan
17/09/2016 21:07 Departure Scan
17/09/2016 17:50 Location Scan
17/09/2016 16:17 Origin Scan
China 17/09/2016 6:49 Order Processed: Ready for UPS

>> In my experience, UPS don't give delivery windows automatically. You may have to sign up to UPS MyChoice for that.

I'll look into that...

I have always bought in store with the exception of the watch last year. Naive question here but f you order online and delivered to your home, can you still exchange or get refunds at a retail store?
