I'm going to sell my 1 day old 128 jet black plus and keep my matte. In central London, any suggestions on where to sell?

Just checked my status and my Silver 256 Plus is still on PFD. It should start to move tomorrow or Tuesday.

The U.S are definitely getting priory as my SS42 AW2 is still stuck in processing for the 30th September and the Americans are reporting that their October deliveries are now PFD

I was lucky. I preordered my Apple Watch Series 2 Stainless Steel 42MM right after my iPhone on the 9th as soon as preorders went after 8AM and my watch was delivered on Friday. I'm glad that happened as I went straight ot pairing the new watch with the new phone as opposed to pairing the old one temporarily and then having to unpair it when the new one showed up. Now I need to decide what to do with the old watch.

Yeah it's such a mixed bag in my experience. Though Touchwood, Solihull is by far and away the worst Apple Store I've ever experienced. Several Genius visits over several years all went badly.

Meanwhile the London stores are great and Highcross follows closely behind in my experience.

I've had a really terrible experience with the L1 genius bar, with the manager being witty/cocky in my face. The Trafford Centre store though are incredible. Essentially got a 6S Plus replacement due to water damage, just because they felt bad for me because the insurance company f*cked up the repair, incredible customer service

I had a crack appear on my 6 screen, strangely it did appear out of nowhere I heard an odd noise and looked at my phone and it had a diagonal crack. They replaced the screen free of charge and said they do that if it's just one crack rather than a shatter.

This is why I would rather wait until October for my new 7+ and get it direct from Apple than buy from John Lewis etc.

I didn't tell them I'd dropped it on the wooden floor half an hour before the crack appeared though!

My battery on my 6 seems to be failing according to the Battery Life app it's dropped from 1500/1751 mAh (86%) on Wednesday to 1150/1751 mAh (66%) today. On the phone to Apple yesterday and they ran a diagnostic and said it's not the hardware?? But to take in for the genius appointment anyway. My AppleCare expires today but as I reported the issue before that they will honour it if they do agree it needs a new battery.

It doesn't matter if you buy from a third party retailer like John Lewis. Your first years warranty is with both John Lewis as the retailer and Apple as the manufacturer. So during the first year you can still take it to Apple for service.

I'd be happy to make 5% to cover express shipping costs etc . Saves returning to JL and waiting 2 weeks for a refund.

Sure someone on here will have it then. If you were looking to make a profit don't suspect people would be too chuffed at missing out on it for it to be resold after a day.

Sure it'll brighten someone's day up :)

I'm not a fan of making a profit on things like this and I don't really need to so rather than it go back to a warehouse and possible back to Apple. I'd be happy to make someone la day. It's flawless and I live near London Bridge.

Well, didn't you say it has two specs of dust and a warm screen? ;)

I'm sure someone will snap it up and be delighted. Well done for not whacking it on eBay for £2k! :)

Then how come the other ones didn't have a single scratch on them?

People denying that the Jet Black is a terrible decision? When I went to Highcross their two Jet Black display units were a right old mess, they'd been out for less than 7 hours and already looked a year old. Such a bad, bad decision. Matte black all the way.

To each their own.

Highcross only had one display model on Friday and it was fine at 3PM.

Saw this on /r/apple , wish we could convert Gladdy's page into something like this haha.

Someone on one of the other UK thread said they'd created an automated notification/email system. But it was late at night when I saw it and I don't know who posted it now or which thread.

Oh, thought I'd seen two. Maybe they put a new unit out aha, looked bad when I was there but I never actually saw it up close.

Just came back from the Apple store in White City Westfield, and played around with the jet black phone. Firstly, I love the home button. I was skeptical about it, but I can definitely warm to it. Secondly, I am so glad i didn't go for the JB. Nothing but minor scuffs, ridiculous amounts of prints that just couldn't be wiped without a cloth, and one or two major scratches. I don't care if they are demo units, it has been there for two days only and the types of scuffs on the phone were clearly from just putting it on the table and picking it back up. Whoever decides to sell their JB phones one, two, three years down the line will not get a grade A evaluation.

I'm not sure the Genius service in London is that great but I've had limited experience of the service - thankfully.

I had the graphics issue affecting MacBook Pros. Despite the online chat first and me documenting all the details in the reservation form, the Genius was still unsure what the problem was or about the replacement program. I even showed them what happens when you switch the graphics off (it works fine because it's the inbuilt graphics card that is the issue) but they kept having to pop off to get more information. In the end they agreed to change the logic board but it took over two weeks to do it. I had to chase them to get my MacBook back. They replaced the logic board and all was fine except my trackpad now clicks only on one side (and gets stuck) and they left a screw sticking out (I assume they've put the screws back incorrectly). I took it back to the store to get them to sort out the trackpad issue and the response I got was 'It's ok, we didn't replace the trackpad'.

I was there for over an hour on both occasions and watched what was going on around me. There were quite a few arguments but I'm not sure if that is unreasonable customers or poor service.

Also, getting an appointment with a Genius is difficult too - at least a week a way most of the time. Lots of people turned away who try to see someone immediately.

That's weird. I had a totally different experience with the logic board replacement program, at my local store. They replaced the logic board with a brand new one, because they happened to have one in stock. I mentioned I had the screen ghosting issue and he said he'd replace my clamshell under the same program, for free. Over £700 of out of warranty repairs free. He said it might take a couple days but called me the same evening saying it was ready to pick up whenever I was.

So it definitely seems to be a case of 'good' and 'bad' Genius Bars and it's a lottery which you get at your local. My local, Highcross, is an excellent Apple Store and the staff in there are great, on the whole.

A grade A valuation one, two years down the line with a JB would be impossible. I can see the resell value falling greatly at places that are picky about condition.

I ordered at 8.20 because i was trying to do a reserve in store for both and when that failed i did an online order for my phone and then a separate order for the watch. Still in processing at the moment but i am hoping for a status change by friday.
