I thought so, cheers for confirming.

On a side note, John Lewis had stock of 5 Gold 7 Plus earlier this evening. Don't know if they had others / more by time I'd seen that, but they all went fairly quickly. Anyone know if they've been getting stock?

See above. I reserved 4 iPhone 7 Plus 128GB Black at the Southampton store yesterday without paying a penny to reserve.

I've put £819 on the old CC, if i turn up tomorrow and they won't refund it and put it through the IUP then I'll just immediately refund it and its back to the drawing board

I believe they will keep it reserved for a few hours, however it may depend on who you speak to. Call the store the pickup is due with and ask them just to be sure, chances are they will pop off the phone and talk to the manager and they'll okay it.

It's worth noting the page sometimes bugs, it's safer to go to your stores page (Google "Apple [store name]"), click the link for the reservation, then there will be a link on the next page. On the final page you'll choose your store from the drop down and the phone you wanna reserve.
I keep getting reservations cannot be made at this time :-/

That's because as far as I'm aware, at nights you can only pay upfront to secure a reservation for the next day, whereas that link and what most of us have been doing is, the reserve and collect from 6am onwards where no upfront payment is required until arriving in store.

Nope. No kind of credit whatsoever.

Therein lies the reason I'm afraid.

Because you have nothing to prove to Barclays Partner Finance you are good at meeting your repayments on time then it's highly probable your rejection is based on that.

Totally up to you but look at getting a credit card based on low credit history e.g. BarclayCard Initial or Capital One.

Run it for six months (just spend £10 on it or something like that) and repay it after the statement has been generated and before the due date.

That'll build you a history and help if you decide to iUP in the future.

Failing that for anyone who has been rejected GiffGaff also have monthly payments for iPhone don't they?

You reserved 4?
Do you have a Chinese dog too?

Yep reserved 4, can show you the reservation emails if you like . You can only BUY a reserved max of two per customer, but I seen there was stock, reserved the two max and then did it again. One for me, my brother, his partner and a friend. Friend got denied finance so one went back in to their stock. RIP.

Guys this isn't a matter of 'fair'. Apple have a significant number of (extremely expensive to own and rent) stores across the country which they NEED to stock. Imagine tescos not having any bread in their supermarkets as they kept it all for people who do their weekly shop online... Ok not exactly the same but.yoy get the point.

Everyone who ordered online got a date they would get their phones, there's nothing unfair about them keeping to those dates. If anyone is not happy and wants their phone sooner then they do like you and scour the stores.

And the point about the USA getting stock first.. Is there really any suprise apple supply their home territory ( and one of, if not the biggest)... Remember it's 'designed in California'
The whole idea of preordering is that if their is a supply constraint you will be prioritised. Fulfilling preorders before walk in customers. Overheads meh, like they didn't cover their overheads for the year in the first 6 minutes of preorders. Next year if they are gonna do the same they should not use the word preorder all over their website, you don't preorder a product to get it after everyone else. Most of the time you preorder a product for either launch day or if supply constraints exist to guarantee you get your product before the average guy on the street who didn't preorder can. My preordered phone had almost a month wait but it's easy enough for anyone I know to place a quick order online and pop upto the store and collect the phone whilst I sit staring at my order hoping maybe I maybe get it a few days earlier than planned. My local store is 20 miles away, literally a 40 minute commute and their is availability, what's even the point of preordering, in that sense it's not preordering it's just online ordering, it's misleading to slap on the term preorder, which they and many networks did.

On a plus note we got our display models delivered to work today so got to play on them, the camera quality is amazing, after having them at work I don't think I would have been able to wait another 3 and a half weeks especially since their just sitting in the stock room turned on, we aren't allowed to put them out for display just yet because we are not expecting stock available for walk in customers for a few weeks because our company wants to honour the mass amount of customers who have 'preordered' the devices first before having devices available for regular walk ins

Exactly the same here-256 plus black bagged for tomorrow but JB due on 04-10th Oct. Decisions!

Just as I looked at the basket I looked at that 3/4 view I've attached... with the previous input on here, I can take my oct order in store, attach it to an upgrade plan and just not worry about micro abrasions between now and an anniversary phone next year.... dumped the matt black... "it was just a momentary fling and never meant anything"

Anything different about the display models? Do they come in the same box?

Just got my dispatch notification and it's coming direct from China as expected, via UPS and according to UPS should be here on Wednesday 21st September. The Apple store is now saying delivery by 27th September but the UPS site should be more accurate.

Hang in there folks! :)

Just to close out my order history, my iPhone 7 plus Jet Black 128GB was delivered this morning by UPS and is gorgeous as expected. Too early to tell if I can live with the plus sized phone but it's actually not as bad as I expected so early signs are good. It fits in my jeans pocket with just the corner poking out and I can get in and out of my car with it in my pocket no problem. That was one of my main worries and it seems fine.

I've not really had much chance to play with it today as I was busy but the screen is lovely, the camera zoom is nice and the touch ID "button" feel fine to me. The Jet Black texture is definitely much grippier than the satin finish which you can confirm by holding each in your hand and then tilting your hand and seeing which slides off first. It's not even close!

That said, the Jet Black acts a bit like the iPhone 4 and 4s in that it almost imperceptively slides when on fabric surfaces (eg. when lying down with the phone on your chest) and eventually will slide off. This used to happen to me with my iPhone 4 when I put it on the arm of my sofa so watch out for that, especially if you have hard floors like we do now.

I've still not decided if I'm going to use the phone 'naked' (the phone, not me!) or if I'll be getting a case for it. I'm leaning towards going caseless (spell checker changed that to 'careless' :( ) as it's just so nice to feel and I can live with a few abrasions and will probably buy Applecare+ to cover anything more serious. I really like being able to swipe edge to edge again which you can't easily do with the leather or silicon cases. I also worry that the cases will themselves cause scratches if taking them on and off as I tend to do fairly often.

So, a big thumbs-up to :apple: once again for making a beautiful product and getting it to me ahead of schedule. My original ship date was 26th Sep to 3rd Oct so arriving on Sep 21st is pretty good considering the high demand etc.

Enjoy your purchases guys and gals!

So your friend got rejected for the Apple upgrade program - do you know why pal?

Man my original ship date is 26 to 3rd and you got it today?! Damn. Where do you live?

He has a LOT of credit debt, but my brothers fiance also got rejected (my brother put two phones on his name in the end) because he has no credit. He and people like him need to get a credit card, buy a few bits and pieces every month and pay it off. At the end of the day you need credit to get credit - if anyone reading this hasn't got credit or are just worried they'll get rejected, just help yourself and get a low limit credit card and pay it off on time, you won't regret it! :)

You're right about the stores needing stock, irrespective of online order wait times

You're also right that apples most precious market is the USA. I'm shocked how us- centric their key notes still are. And they wouldn't dare dramatically raise prices in the US too
True, also apple have the initial online orders placed ready in waiting with payments. There are additional sales to be had by issuing waves of stock into the stores in the meantime.
Unless you are a regular on this forum who who are ready to pounce for an earlier bag of an ip7.
