Morning all, thought I'd sign up after spending enough time reading about most people's frustrations..
I was so close this morning just not quick enough almost reserved a JB 128gb @ Apple Brent Cross, next time perhaps
 
As did I! That was exactly how it was sold to me anyway.

I've always upgraded to the new iPhone each year, using Envirofone to lock in a price the day before the announcement. Each time I'd have enough to pay off my current contract, usually with around £20 profit. Nothing massive, but all I wanted was a way to upgrade without being out of pocket each year.

Signed up to the Refresh contract, knowing there would be no profit as I'd just be handing back the phone to upgrade. This wasn't a concern of mine as all I want is the new model each year.

So I signed up for this Refresh contract, on the most expensive consumer plan at the time, happy in the thought I'd be at the front of the queue next year. The exact opposite has happened.

I don't blame O2 for the lack of supply, I get that's down to Apple. But for me to not even be able to put my name on the list. I have to wait until they are in stock, in store, before I a can start the upgrade process. That means everyone that orders online, my model, is automatically in front of me. And, everyone in the same situation as me will be heading straight to the stores when they're available, making it no doubt even harder to get my hands on one!

Well I'm an o2 customer and I've been in the refresh program since 2013. My impression of it was that it was an easy way to upgrade to the latest and greatest phones because I didn't have to pay off my airtime. Just pay off my device plan which I hand done 3 times so far. However I was never under impression that I was somehow elevated to VIP status and was first in line to get a new phone and I'm on the upgrade after 1 year on us tariff at the moment.

So was at Stratford city earlier. Went to John Lewis and contemplated getting the 7. Took a walk, went to the Apple store. Comparing the 7 and 7 Plus. Was told there was no stock. Observed someone who reserved an iPhone but did not proceed with it. Quickly reached out to the employee holding the phone and asked if I could buy it. Holding a 7 Plus Black 256 GB now.
I'm so glad after the torrid experience you had with CPW. They need to refund your money ASAP!
 
Yes totally noticed the dotted lines from the start. I thought it was just from the manufacturing. Wondering is this normal on all Jet Blacks? Matt black didn't have this

It's not normal. I had a JB 128 (with dust under the cam lenses and an uneven screen) and it didn't have it. It's not even intense lighting, in my bedroom I can clearly see it by just holding it.

Not sure what to do really. The Mattes don't have this. Don't really want to put it in a case, that's the whole point of having the JB.

What about a black permanent marker?

I totally agree, in no way do I think I should be at the front of the line. I'd purely like the same opportunity to join the line as others who aren't on the Refresh contract.
 
Hi all does anyone know whether the '3-4' week estimate for the pluson the apple site is about right or have some people had theirs delivered earlier?

Just out of curiosity do o2 even do non refresh contracts anymore which are not sim free? Everytime I upgrade it seems like I only have the option to go on a refresh tariff.

lol, you would prefer to colour it in than use a case? That's some dedication to going caseless.

Well now that I've recovered from my fainting spell after reading that. I really hope you were kidding ;)

If it's really bad, I mean in a, this is clearly not what was advertised kind of way. Why not get a replacement? No point shelling out the kind of money we are for these things to have them not up to scratch. Obviously it won't stay pristine for ever, but out of the box I'd expect damn near perfection.

Any plan where you get 20GB of data per month or more is automatically a Refresh contract.

It despatched 8th. Site now shows delivery 19th October. But it's in Amsterdam now so hoping I'll get it next week.

Pot luck it would seem. I ordered on the 18th of September and despite the website then and my status still now both saying 3-4 weeks, my actual delivery estimate is the 24th-31st October. Which unless my fingers and toes lie to me, is 5-6 weeks :(

Unfortunately the DHL site is down for maintenance, nor do they answer calls on Sunday so we can't check the progression.

The last I heard (by phone with Amsterdam yesterday) was your pallet was due to be shipped with mine today but that is heading to Leeds airport.
I have notifications active with DHL but nothing has come through (email & SMS) as of yet.

I ordered a Black 128GB Plus on 28th September with 27th-3rd Nov delivery. Still processing.

DHL just updated to say customs cleared. (Date shows Sept 10th I assume they miskeyed it)

Mine for some reason got sent to a sorting facility in Germany lol

Since mine got cleared for customs it hasn't updated on that tracking page but has been updated on this one
