So disappointed with the pricing too, the Plus I was going to get is over £150 more and the watch £150. That's messed seriously with my budgeting and for the first time in my life I'm actually looking at alternatives..... £919 for a phone is an absolute joke to be honest!!

And regards to people moaning about the handset never being yours. In a phone contract with network. The phone isn't yours either until it's paid off. Same thing

I mentioned this, but have to tell you that I bought my last 3 iPhones outright... And technically in the UK the phone is yours on Day 1 on a mobile phone contract.

By the way: Is Francis still around...? On days like yesterday and today I am really missing him :D

Not sure about that. They certainly wouldn't want it back if you defaulted. The contract is to provide you with a phone plus airtime. If you breach it they sue your ass, not recover the phone.

My contract with 02 is up tomorrow so I'll be pre-ordering in store. The last time I went to pre-order with 02 I was on the phone for 45 minutes waiting to get through to be told that they wern't taking pre-orders (which was wrong). I was also refreshing their page which kept timing out and waited to get through again after being told incorrect information. In the end I went in to one of their out of the way stores and preordered at half 10 and was the first one to pick one up on launch day.

Last year I pre-ordered with Apple which was a breeze.

....how can you pre-order with O2 when they haven't released their deals yet?

Has anyone heard if you are looking at the upgrade program, can you reserve online on Friday 9th and then go pick it up from the store on the upgrade program on the 16th?

Edit - just read the upgrade page, yes it can be reserved.
http://www.apple.com/uk/shop/iphone/iphone-upgrade-program

Can you reserve, via the upgrade program, and have them send you the phone? I can't go and collect unfortunately!

Can someone explain how the upgrade program actually works?! So for a 32gb iPhone 7, it shows this works out at £33.45 a month with an up front cost of £45. However, you still have to factor in the cost of the sim only contract - which would be at least around £20 a month, which takes the total monthly payments to over £50 a month?! Surely it would be cheaper to just take out a normal contract from a network?

EDIT - Just noticed that the Upgrade Program is Only available in store. :(

I hope Saint Francis is looking down on me tomorrow morning. He provided my Apple Watch and iPhone 6S plus last year. I hope he has not forsaken me this year lol

When do we expect the carriers to release pricing?

Hopefully today.

With the iPhone 6 launch 2 years ago, the majority of carriers released price plans the morning of the launch... leading to a scramble between their websites to try and find the best deal. I think I ended up paying over the odds with Carphone Warehouse and EE. I really hope plans are revealed today so I can make a decision between them and the Apple upgrade plan.

Unfortunately it won't be happening like that carries will only put out their plans once preorders go live at 08:01

That's not correct, other than EE (who keep ownership for the first 6 months of the contract) you do own the handset after signing the contract (i.e. from day 1).

We are the old faithful:D

I look forward to catching up with the regulars, and getting on board the hype train.

Sadly due to work I may not be able to pre order this year. Gutted doesn't even come close.

I'm also torn between jet or normal black. The shiney coating will be a total scratch magnet

That doesn't sound good :/ I heard you say on a previous post that you might be able to do it at work if you have signal, so wishing you all the luck for that! I'm sure you will let us know how it goes ;) and like you I can't choose what black to go for, but I'm leaning towards matte

Thanks mate, yeah I'm thinking of Matt as I can see it being covered in scratches even with a case on it

I was on about tomorrow. They will have deal concerning the how much you pay towards the phone, but I doubt their tariffs will change as people will not be happy and will likely just go elsewhere. The advantage of Apple's trade in programme is that it means that networks can't rip you off anymore and their is now an affordable option direct with Apple for owning an iPhone.

Normally with 24 hours to go I am 100% certain on which model to go for but this year I am really torn.

Definitely going plus model this year and fairly certain on 128Gb over 256Gb (that price point sucks) but really struggling to decide between the two blacks.

Just used envirofone a minute ago ... they lock price for 14 days but towards the end they send an option to add another 7 days. I used the code ENVSEPT5 for an extra 5% :)

thanks for sharing the code / idea - my unlocked iPhone 6 128GB is now priced at £275

looking on eBay I'd have to pay 10% of final sale price, plus £10 to post it, plus 3.4% PayPal fees - so it probably works out about the same either way, with likely a lot less hassle from envirofone. I expect they know that though!

two-years ago I was a bit slow off the mark, so will be on it first thing tomorrow - iPhone 7 Plus 128GB in black black I think this time.

have fun y'all.
