iPhone 7 and 7 Plus Pre-Order Shipping Estimates Begin Slipping

Theres a few saying they managed to get that model for delivery on the 16th but its only a handful and to be honest they could be trolling?? Most got estimates either 30th September then next early to mid October and now November...Yikes!!

Also in Australia. Refreshing all avenues repeatedly and finally got through online after about 15 mins. Jet Black 256GB delivery 30/9-5/10. Interestingly just before checkout I swapped over to the Apple Store App to see if delivery would be any better and couldn't even get past the we'll be back screen. Checked out online.

I got my Black 128gb 7 on the Upgrade Program, pick up in store Union Square San Francisco on the 16th.

My local store, Monterey, CA. Had no availability, but I was going up to SF anyway next Friday.
 
Happens like this with every iPhone launch. On one side it allows Apple to better control their inventory (demand-supply), so they do not overproduce, as was the case with iPhone 5C, while also creating a scarcity hype, like "Everything is sold, must be really great, so I gotta have one too as soon as the stock is back!". Funny marketing games where we are the puppets. ;)

Same here with a Plus Matte Black 256. 9-23 to 30th through AT&T. I feel lucky I got in the 2nd wave as I got a reservation at 11:56 and ordered at 12:03. Shortly after, dates were hitting November.

I don't know why they'd screw people who upgrade every year by making us wait 2 weeks to order when that pushes shipping dates back MONTHS. There's just no reason for this other than to screw people over like ATT is fond of doing.

Oh and when I started the ordering process I had a September 16th ship date...

couldn't you of paid off your phone a week early so you had the ability to upgrade at launch? Sell your phone on eBay after its paid off

Got in through the app first, added Verizon jet black 128KB to the 'bag' and couldn't figure out how to get a second one 'bagged'. Went to web site, got two in the 'bag' but received a warning saying I couldn't purchase two on the same order (BS?). Deleted both phones and ordered one at a time; the first one on the web site with a Oct 18-31 delivery. Couldn't order a second one on the web site so I switched back to the app. I received a reservation because Apple couldn't get through to Verizon. I then tried again, the order went through and I got a 'November' delivery.

What a pain.

If Apple ships, it's because nobody wants an iPhone. If Apple doesn't ship, it's because Apple is trying to create hype.

If you are not an Apple hater, then if Apple ships, it is because they built enough ahead of time. If Apple doesn't ship, it's because they didn't manage to build enough ahead - trying to create demand by not selling the phone would be about the most stupid thing you could do. Because _you are not selling_. _You are not making money when you are not selling_.

but people shouldn't have to do this. part of the upgrade program is covenience. Personally I don't want to sell on eBay or risk my life on craigslist lol

Yea if I had known this would happen, never in a million years did I think ATT would be so damn dumb that they'd hold us to last years pre-order date. I haven't had time to keep up with any of this stuff, it's just ridiculous that they limit people from ordering for 12 days which sets my ship date by at least two whole months.

By the time I realized what was happening and tried to just buy the damn thing the ship dates were in November so no point.
 
For those who have a 27-29th delivery window and it changes, please let me know.

I'm hoping that, like with AW last year, it changes date.

I ordered the Matte black 7 Plus in 128GB.

Yea, so much for a 12 month upgrade cycle, more like 14-15 months. ATT knew Apple released the phone a week and a half early this year, making us wait another 12 days to order just to be technical is BS.

I just signed up for the IUP today, a decision I may regret come the iPhone 8 release, but I am curious as to whether or not there is a way to make payments on the phone before the automatic date they are charged. Like if I wanted to either pay off the phone early or just randomly one month wanted to pay more than needed because I had extra money laying around.

I got the Jet Black 128 at 12:11am after 12 minutes of trying. I got October 18 to November 1st.(4 to 6 weeks) seems like a lot of time, I have been reading online some rumors about Apple delivering "sooner than expected", nobody says how sooner but I hope I can get it a least in september, I think more than a month itˋs a really long time!
 
Guess I'll have to take a shot at going to the store. Hmm where can I go that's desolate.
 
So, The iPhone Upgrade Program is BS. I bought my iPhone last year with that program because it sounded like a good idea and it came with AppleCare. To my surprise it did a hard check on my Credit. Then Apple tells me its going to do a Hard check each year I upgrade...

This year I go to use it, Pick out my iPhone 7 Plus Jet Back 256GB Verizon, and as soon as the site went live minutes after midnight it tells me they are sold out in every US state. All of them... I do this every year and that is not possible unless they only had 100 for sale, they didn't list any of them in that size and color or they were not being offered to iPhone Upgrade members or at all for the initial release.

At this point the site tells me to come back on the 17th at 8am. No future dates, no waiting for the next batch shipments, just SOL. I do the Apple Chat and after waiting for 40 minutes I get someone who tells me that if I was just signing up for the program for the first time I could have had it shipped, but because I'm already in it and they have no procedure for returning a phone back to them other than that the reservation system, I'm out of luck.

I'm out. Ill sell my current phone, go with Verizon's upgrade plan that doesn't to Hard credit check, and wait to what is now a ship date of October 12th. Thanks Apple, great way to f over a long time supporter because you didn't plan out your program well enough and making such low inventory because you want to have good numbers, your the best....

So using the apple upgrade program you still have to have a carrier to let you order. I'm on t-mobile but wanted to get the Verizon model (to use on t-mobile). Is that not possible?
