Count me in. Just got the 128 matte black plus. If it uses the same pentolobe as the iPhone 4 I have 1 at home ill try.

All has this problem so far. Don't replace it. I would just return it and wait up if this bothers you.

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone else was having the same problem that I'm having. I have a 7 plus in black and everything about is perfect except whenever the phone is put under any amount of flex (from lifting it up or just holding it with two hands) the phone makes a slight creaking sound that sounds like something is loose (not a bending sound). The smallest amount of flex from everyday use causes the left side to make that sound which is quite audible. Another example is when I'm holding it with two hands, and press the top left and bottom right portions of the screen at the same time, it makes a slight click. Again, I'm not bending it or trying to bend it in any way. It's really annoying... I would love to exchange it for another one, but all of the apples stores within a 50 miles radius of me are completely out of stock.
I played around with my screws a bit. Tightening as much as i could and then untightening just a bit. Seems to have stopped it completely. Be careful about cases. If the case is hard/non-TPU, it may put extra pressure on the phone.

Add me to the list. I noticed the creaking click sound literally less than 60 seconds upon unboxing my AT&T 7Plus 256GB black. Returning it tomorrow.

If you are getting a replacement please let us know if the replacement has the same issue.

I will let you all know but it doesn't sound promising. I am SO tired of build quality issues with Apple. My 7 Plus creaks BAD just holding it to my ear while on a call with the slightest of movement. I'm also not at all liking the muffled dismal sound quality of a phone call through the iPhone 7 plus earpiece....

I hear you. This is my second 7 plus. First one had a rattling speaker, with dented speaker mesh.

I've got a minimal sound that only presents itself in landscape mode. I noticed it playing WGT golf. It sounds like a quiet "tick" type of sound.

It's occasional, and hardly noticeable. Otherwise my phone is great so I won't be pursuing a replacement. If the noise was constant or farther reaching (phone call issues, etc.) I'd feel differently.

I've been having this issue as well (Matte Black). Audible creaks right to the left of the FaceTime camera. From what I've been observing reading various forums, most if not all of the complaints are from the 7+ owners that have either black or jet black models. Haven't observed any complaints from Silver, Gold, nor Rose Gold owners. With that said, I've returned mine and will await a later batch and hopefully Apple can get this issue resolved.

I am having the same issue on my 7. When I tap on the top right hand side of my screen it is not a solid feel. And I can hear it. It is very little but it definitely there and bothering me. I don't know if it's worth it to return it even though I'm still in my 14 day window.
[doublepost=1475035468][/doublepost]It has to be a strong tap for me to hear the clicky noise but still bothers me.

Also just a thought. Maybe the yield problems that were rumored are contributing factors to this issue and why Plus's are so rare to come by right now.

I'm not sure what to do either... Return and wait for a new batch or live with it. It really isn't a huge issue, buy my 6S+ was rock solid.

I've booked a replacement. As they're currently out of stock, I'm hoping the one I receive will be from 'better' stock.

Amazing how these seemingly under-the-radar quality issues with Apple gear appear to stay hidden from the media, eh? I've never suffered from any of the 'gates' (bendgate, hissgate, etc), but I always end up returning at least one of my new devices because it has suffered a manufacturing defect.

Mine has that creak sound as well. It's very annoying.. I think I am going to return mine and wait for a new batch of phones..

Yea I'm returning mine this Friday. Now I also realized that when I shoot a video there is no hiss but there is a very loud static noise that comes from the microphone.

I can get the creaking to happen when removing apple's silicone case. Putting pressure on those corners to pull the case out.

I've been in the same boat as you with every single iOS device, Apple QC is awful!!!!. I just returned my 7+ because of the creaking clicking sound. I will wait a few months but I'm not holding my breath, Apple is WAY too slow to address issues for my liking. I'm using my 6S+ and Note 5 for now.

First post ever.
I have a black iPhone 7 Plus and it also was creaking. I took a screw driver and tightened up the screws at the bottom and it really helped. It will still creak if I really try to put pressure but I haven't heard it with normal use. You guys should try it, it really helpedmine.

Just made an account here simply to address this issue.

iPhone 7 plus purchased 9 days ago, started noticing the creaks when I put on a case on the phone. Creaks are most noticeable if you put the backside of the phone to your ear, and give slight twist from each bezel in opposite directions.

Genius Bar reservation website was acting stupid, so I went into my local Apple Store, where I know the manager. They got me into the Genius Bar just with a 1 hour wait, so I'll window shop.

Manager said "I've had 3-4 people come in with the same issue"

Two different associates who helped me said they heard about it too.

I looked like a madman trying to test all of the display iPhones to see. Primarily MB/JB + phones had the worst problems. Others were hit and miss.

Will update on the results. First and foremost want to tell them that it's an issue, hopefully to get a replacement today
