I got my 7+ on launch day. Came with version 10.0 and battery life was great. I set up the phone as new (did not restore from a backup). When I updated to 10.0.1 I experienced significant battery drain while in standby. Overnight i would lose roughly 30-35% at night. I upgraded to 10.0.2 and the drain lessened slightly (would lose only around 30%). I updated to 10.1b1 and now my drain is at 20-25% overnight. Still awful for standby times . Here are the thigns that I have done, none of which seem to help:

1. I have restored it, set it up as a new phone through iTunes.
2. Reset network settings
3. Reset all settings
4. Let the battery drain all the way to to 0% till it shut off, waited for 20 minutes, charged it all the way back up to 100%.
5. Hooked it up to my Mac and used console to see if I could find a process that seemed like it kept running (photo's seemed to be occurring quite a bit).
6. Did a hard reset of that and my Apple Watch (ie held power and volume down till it turned off.

Not sure if there's anything else I can try but I have a Genius Bar appointment set up for tomorrow.

You barely used your phone. Pretty misleading.

Not too thrilled with battery life as I was expecting more out of it considering they said they improved battery life but did not notice a difference.

Not misleading at all. Just under 19 hours of usage is hardly barely using it. Didn't claim to be a heavy user.

Sounds awful. I would wait for 10.1GM. If you look on twitter there are major issues with 10.0.2 and .1 to the apple support account

You guys have very good battery life. Mine is just meh. I just browse and read some books on my iphone 7 plus. This is already the 5th day. I'm gonna return this and replace it with a new one.
I'm with you. This is much worse battery life coming from a 6+.

Not a heavy user, but since i got 7+ on 9/23 i've been trying to learn more about it, and get better battery life. It's ok, so going back to normal use.

The term usage is extremely relative. Usage doesn't mean screen on time. Throwing that out there for those that are new to ios

Usage means nothing without including actual usage time for each app. When posting battery stats please include on screen time for each app.

Hello all.
I got my iPhone 7 Plus on Friday. I love it, huge upgrade from my 6.
Anyway, I was curious to see the battery life of other iPhone 7 Plus users. I know it's only been two full days, but looking to get some input on this. Currently I'm at 23% and have 5hr43min of usage with 11hr7min of standby. I've been doing a lot of different stuff with it, including shooting a minute or so of 4K video to test it out, and using it for a short period of time (couple minutes or so) at full brightness while taking pictures outdoors.
On average, is this about normal for a Plus? This is my first Plus model so I'm just wondering. Coming from an iTunes backup of my 6 which did not do too well in battery, was always low by the end of day, would this affect battery at all? Or is it nothing to be concerned about? Appreciate any input, also post what your 7 Plus battery is like.
woah , that is amazing!

in all honestly , i think the iphone battery life in general is much better than android at least at lower end when comparing the 2 , having owned a iphone 5s i say this, but i deffo think the iphone 7 has an amazing battery life!

the iphone 5s is many years old , btw lol

I've been having excellent battery life. The lowest I've let my battery go is 15%.

Does anyone know what's going on with my Settings app? 12% usage and 1 minute on screen time. Just seems a bit abnormal to me that it's consuming that much. Other than that bit of weirdness, battery seems to be fine with 15+ hours standby and 6-10 hours of usage.

It's definitely an inconvenience. I tried restoring and setting up as a new phone again last night on 10.0.2, didn't pair with my Apple Watch and 10.0.2 is definitely worse than 10.1b1. Back to losing 35% while in standby.

Yeah hoping 10.1GM does it but i have never had a phone that got better battery life after an iOS update or even after all the tricks like restore, DFU etc. it never works, settings do but those are easy to do. The only way is get a new phone usually.

Yeah my guess is I will need to get this swapped out which is a huge pain in the ass cause that means I have to unpair my watch, set everything back up, and re-pair my watch for the 4th time. And I have to buy a new Skinomi skin for my phone again...

If any of you guys having battery trouble are using Gboard keyboard, turn it off and see if it improves. I've noticed whenever I have tried to use it my phone gets and stays warm and the battery drains but nothing shows in battery stats to indicate it's a problem. As soon as I remove it things go back to normal.

Hmmm I will try that. Shouldn't be that big of a drain especially while in standby. my 7 plus was great on battery life on 10.0, but as soon as I went to 10.0.1, 10.0.2, and 10.1, it's been awful.

This really isn't technical since I ever look at the hours of usage or whatever - but I will say on an average wrk day, I use my phone for the same amount of time. By the time I would leave work, my 6+ would be at 20-30%. Now when I leave work, my 7+ is at 60%. That's good enough for me! I don't have to charge my phone until I go to bed.

I'm going to give this a try. Not using Google's Keyboard but Flow instead and saw it's not showing up within Battery Usage.

so this morning, I was using my 7 and Plus equally. 7 dropped 10% in the same amount of usage that the Plus dropped 3%. both were fully charged over night. both in Power Save Mode with only the 7 in Greyscale. this was just in about 30-40 mins' time.

The first picture was done after a fresh re-install of iOS 10.0.2. Wifi was turned off. I didn't even pair my Watch to my phone. The second picture was after no use at all while I was asleep. I should not be losing 28% of my battery while the phone is in standby, with no wifi or Bluetooth. This is beyond ridiculous.
