Mines so far today, includes about 30 mins of video and about 25 mins of games. The rest is Snapchat chat and texting.

See, that looks normal. Mine, not so much.
[doublepost=1475263002][/doublepost]So update. Had my Genius Bar appointment. They say there's nothing wrong with the battery, and that the drain looks normal, but they agreed to swap it out for a new phone. Hopefully that will fix it when it gets here.

The first picture was done after a fresh re-install of iOS 10.0.2. Wifi was turned off. I didn't even pair my Watch to my phone. The second picture was after no use at all while I was asleep. I should not be losing 28% of my battery while the phone is in standby, with no wifi or Bluetooth. This is beyond ridiculous.

if you are in airplane mode with everything turned off and in DND, you should be losing zero percent overnight and just ~50 mah. there is definitely something wrong with .2 and many people have reported it.

My battery life has been great on the 7 plus and 10.0.2. It seemed to get much better once I drained to 0%. Before that I was only getting about 10 hours or so.

With the phone in my pocket, not even looking at it, airplane mode, I lose 2% per hour. My wife has the same phone so I had her do that same test. Same result. 2% per hour.
On a break at work, about 20 minutes, I lose 5% minimum. I'm just reading some news app and maybe checking instagram. That's it.

In 4 days I the lock screen used 2,5 hours of battery life. This doesn't look normal. Any suggestions what can be going wrong?

Just adding that the battery life on my 7+ (256 JB) is terrible. I've rebooted, done every battery optimization that I can think of, and it still drains more than it should overnight when in standby and during the day with usage. It's much worse than my 2 year old 6+ was, particularly when the 6+ was brand new. I hope it's an OS thing and not a hardware thing, but who knows. This is pathetic for sure.

I had the same problem. Turned off "Hey Siri" and it's now much better.

I am extremely unsatisfied with how little my 7 Plus lasts! I've done literally everything there is to do to make sure it's not a software issue(I've reset the settings, restored it and set up as new, turned off background refresh, Push mail, brightness down) and I still get horrible battery.

I'm coming from a 6 Plus and that thing used to last me 10 hours(usage, not SOT, I know) without a problem. I honestly don't know what to do as I am sure Apple will say the battery is alright(and there isn't even an Apple Store in my country). I've also checked the battery capacity with a Mac app called iBackupbot and it seems to be OK(3100mAh).

Any clues as to why my 7+ lasts much worse than my 6+ in exactly the same conditions?

Some of you are getting crazy good battery life.
I'm happy with mines but can't imagine having the same battery as some of you.

Would you mind sharing a screenshot with your Usage time? It seems like some people's iPhones are having great battery life, while others atrocious.

I'm still getting around 8 hours of usage on a charge. That includes some video streaming. I think this is good, it's great that for most of the time I can use it all day without having to charge.

Solved my battery drainage issues.

What a lot of people are missing is iCloud and devices associated to your iCloud account. It can put a hit on your battery.

Perform the following:

- Go to Settings - iCloud - select your account (very top selection) - Devices - remove all associated devices to your account. you may even see devices that you no longer use.

- Go Settings - iCloud - disable iCloud Drive, Mail, Safari, Home, Notes, Keychain, and Backup

- Settings - iCloud - Share My Location - Disable Share my Location. Remove all associated devices for share my location as well under 'From' by swiping left and deleting each device

- Settings - Privacy - Location Services - System Services - Disable HomeKit, Location-Based Apple Ads, Location-Based Suggestions, Share My Location, and Disable Frequent Locations. Disable everything in Product Improvement

- Settings - Privacy - Advertising - Enable Limit Ad Tracking

- Settings - Sound & Haptics - Disable System Haptics at the bottom

- Settings - Photos & Camera - disable iCloud Photo Library, and iCloud Photo Sharing

- If you want, go to Settings - General - Background App Refresh and completely disable the feature

Guarantee you will get improvement in battery life after performing all of the above.

Mines are not Bad by any means to my standard and will last me a full day but this is a subject that is SO dependent on cellular connection imo and the settings you have on your phone and what apps and how you use your phone.

I'm very satisfied.

So turn off everything that phone is suppose to do? People shouldn't have to turn off features to get great battery life.

It's to triage your phone. Obviously after you disassociate all your devices you re-login with all the devices tied to your account. this is a known problem and has resolved issues relating to battery drain.

secondly, you DON'T need Share My Location. You DON'T need HomeKit/AppleAds/Frequent Locations. You DON'T need Ad Tracking. You can OPTIONALLY disable background app refresh for the time being to TRIAGE your phone until you determine whats causing the battery drain.

Like I said, nobody does this, but REMOVE your devices from iCloud temporarily and see if the battery drain goes away. Also LOG OFF iCloud for all your other devices and re-login as well.

I've done all that. Wiped the phone. 10.0.1, 10.0.2 and now 10.1, nothing has helped. On my 6s+ I didn't turn off or disable anything and had way better battery life. On my 7+ i've turned off nearly everything and it's still not as good. There's nothing unusual under battery usage at all. It's like there's a runaway system process that we can't disable.
My wife also has an identical phone to mine and the same issues. My daughter has the 7 non plus and her battery life is even worse.

I've already done all of the above but the battery life is still atrocious. I don't know how anybody could use this phone with all of the features enabled. What a joke.

best test is to restore as new and not install any apps and see if you are still getting bad battery life.

Started off poor (got the phone last Monday) but I am assuming after all the indexing, it is finally hit an actual idle state.

TL;DR - I am at 58% after ~25 hrs of standby and 6 hrs of usage.

Look at this battery usage. 24% for less than an hour and a half of having the browser on screen? Compared to Apple's estimate of up to 13 hours on LTE LOL. And the background usage makes no sense because I have all of background refresh disabled. WTF?

I've been using my 7 Plus, mostly, since yesterday. anyway, from 100% on my 7, I lost about 25% in less than 4 hrs. I haven't even activated most my installed apps. I've only been receiving notifications on iMessage, Mail app and Tapatalk. I've also already limited both my Cellular Data for most my activated apps, and limited my Privacy settings. I'll have to take some ss when I get a chance.

edit: also, does anyone notice their 7 taking a bit of a while to boot up? not that my 7 Plus boots up faster, just seems more like the 7 takes that much longer. I can't imagine it's because of the 3GB RAM. my 6s Plus and SE both boot up faster.
