What would really be the point of stereo speakers in a device that is less than 6 inches wide? Holding the phone two feet from you would your ears really be able to distinguish between the sound coming from the left side versus the right side? And how many times do you sit down with your iPhone to watch a video of some sort or listen to music in which you haven't plugged in headphones or are streaming to bluetooth? Now a louder speaker would be helpful and maybe having two small speakers is an easy way to get louder sound. But I don't think the fact that the sound is in stereo or not on a phone sized device is really going to make a difference.

This is my first post.

Personally, I think the iPhone 7 will have a basic redesign without antenna bands and maybe glass on the back.

I am also confident the iPhone 7 will be waterproof in the same way as the Galaxy S7 is.

I don't really mind if the Display is LCD or AMOLED as long as the screen definition becomes better.

iPhone 7 will be :

Design similar to the iPhone 6 and glass back
4.7'' 5.5'' and 5.5'' Pro will dual camera.
Waterproof.
Without headphone jack.

Please let me know what you think.

Let's hope that these (false) leaks are actually being sent out by Apple strategically in an effort to lower our expectations, and then when the iPhone 7 comes out this year, it's either:

a) completely different
or
b) exactly like what we thought the 2017 iPhone was going to be.

I know this is almost definitely not the case, but a man can dream, right?
All newbies to this forum say the same thing as you. And every year the rumors and parts leaks match the final result... Like clockwork.

Yeah, many of the rumors for iPhone 5 totally were even close to the final result...

That's because the physical feeling of the 'S' models is not different. The 'S' models offer mainly internal upgrades (I.e. Processor, 3D Touch, ect). If you were seeking a physical difference between your iPhone 6 to 6s, then you only achieved a stronger 7000 series Aluminum. And the 6s models were slightly thicker I believe. Hopefully the 'iPhone 8' will change that.

Not noticeably thicker, but the 6s is noticeably heavier, which is a negative. The difference is slight but it is still there. The 6 design is my least favorite design so far. But I buy the phone for the OS, the ecosystem, and build quality. The design of the 4 and 5 were a nice added bonus (especially the 4). But only on the margin for me.

I've realized probably $100,000 or more in gains buying and selling Apple stock over the past 10 years. I'm happy with my choices overall, and none of us gets out of this alive at the end.

I'm with you with this for sure. I started in in 2005, I've played every Apple is doomed cycle. Never lost a penny. Your money is safe and the way to make it grow is to play off the fears and rumors just like the big boys do.

Yeah, just like Vegas and my aunt's weekly Bingo outing... EVERYONE's a winner.

Okay, the one time and those rumors of that false iPhone 5 design started leaking in Jan/Feb of that year. The real leaks start later in March/April.

I'm on Apple's subscription plan now so I'm no longer faced with the should I or shouldn't I upgrade dilemma... I'm definitely getting this next iPhone.

The dual camera sounds really cool but I'm not lugging around the plus just for that. While I'm still excited about the new iPhone/iOS, I'm actually more excited about the rumored wireless earbuds and Apple Watch 2.

So... should we call this one iPhone 6.5s Plus?

The dual camera one will be Professional Plus, like MS Office.

I like the design a lot. No reason why they shouldn't use it for a third year if they refine it a bit (antenna lines etc.). This design is a classic. I'm hoping for a pitchblack version like the black HTC 10.

There is a rumour that Apple may release a Matt black version

I believe the whole "teardrop" design thing was around for quite much closer to the actual announcement of the phone.

I was really hoping that they would shrink the bezels this year. That being said, I look at my iPad Pro 9.7 that just came out and I realize that Apple is still selling devices with huge bezels, and selling them in droves.

But as others have stated, the OS and ecosystem is the only thing that really matters. I tried the S6, Note 5, and S7 and every time, I was happy to be back with the huge bezels of the iPhone. Design only goes so far. Just like a Surface Pro 4. Great looking device with a crappy OS.

It doesn't matter what the device looks like. If it has iOS, it will sell, period.

If Apple drops gimped MacBooks at WWDC and follows up later in the year with a lame iPhone 7, well...

[Actually, what will this new phone be called? iPhone 6.5s?]

Is ANYONE on this thread remembering that this is a RUMORS site?
Have you followed the rumors for the past 4 years? Leaks coming out this far out (relatively speaking of course) turn out to be true 99% of the time, with slight twists and variations in the final product. Do you remember the iPhone 5 case leak in mid May 2012. Basically turned out to be the real thing. In March 2014, schematics and a case of iPhone 6 leaked. Turned out to be 100% legit. Of course, let's not forget the whole lost iPhone 4 scandal in 2010. All of those leaks occurred just around this time of the year and turned out to be pretty reliable. This is likely our 2016 iPhone.

You watch a TV show/short movie perhaps on your phone and hold it 2 feet away? Wow!!!!

I have 2 front facing stereo speakers on my phone and it's so amazing to finally have this, I honestly hate the idea of every upgrading (downgrading) to a phone that does not have this.

2 speakers facing the user. It's not rocket science, and should be like this as standard.

Everyone that bought into the every-year plan are going to ensure a lot of upgrades. However, I think that the lack of a headphone jack is going to be a bigger deterrent than everyone expects.
