iPhone 7 Plus Design Drawings Depict Dimensions Identical to iPhone 6s Plus

And they will sell 50 to 100 million.

You probably said that about the 6s and YoY sales are falling though the floor. Nothing is guaranteed.

Don't you realise that this kind of smug arrogance is exactly why so many people hate Apple with a passion.

Why does everyone think iPhone 7 will be the worst upgrade? Let's look at the features shall we?

1.) Waterproof
2.) True tone display/variable refresh rate
3.) Anti reflective display
4.) Smart connector (docks, battery cases)
5.) Much better camera (zoom on the +)
6.) Better battery life (like the SE)
7.) Faster chip/LTE
8.) Possible Apple pencil support
9.) 32/128/256 gb capacities
10.) Lightning headphones (not a +)

Honestly, that looks pretty solid to me. Why is everyone losing it? Just because the design isn't changing dramatically! If I get more than half of that list I made up there (which is very likely at this point) I'm upgrading as usual.
You know what they say about perception and reality.

Don't even waste your time man. The ones whining and complaining the most will be the first ones in the "waiting for my iPhone 7 to ship" threads. It happens every. Single. Year.

Remember this post come September, and you'll know my list is spot on.
What part?

I was simply commenting on the part about people losing it because the design doesn't look different/new enough.

As for the list, hopefully more of it is right than not, and hopefully there's even more to it, but no real way to know much one way or another about it now.

Oh, I thought you were talking about the list. The rumors have repeatedly mentioned those specs, and they look pretty good to me. If there is more, yeah, that's even better.

2016 line up:
iPhone SE
iPhone 7
iPhone 7 Pro

2017: (10 year anniversary) All new iPhones
iPhone mini (4 in.)
iPhone (4.7 in.)
iPhone Pro (5.5)

I can see your logic but recent decisions would seem to indicate another path. I think both iPhone 7 models will get the Pro label this year to try and justify the high selling price. Presumably they will replace the SE in 2017 with a 4'" version of the 6s.

I think mostly because it doesn't follow the Apple trend. Usually an XS --> X would bring in a new look (innovation?) with minor improvements of everything you mentioned. And the fact that Apple took of a huge dive on stock today because of iPhone sales, I doubt people are going to buy the same looking phone (assuming these schematics are real). I guess if you're just a phone user then it does not matter, but if you are a investor, then it matters a lot financially.

If the 6s is selling so badly why would you stick with it for another year? A few cosmetic changes and new features isn't going to stem the downward spiral in sales. They need an all new design this year.
A large percentage of iPhone 6 owners will upgrade to the 7 regardless of the "few cosmetic changes" the new features alone will draw most of them in along with the fact that the 6 will be a bit long in the tooth especially in the camera department. Remember the 6 cycle was enormous and a large majority will upgrade. As for myself I have the 6S plus and my upgrade will be the 10th anniversary iPhone and without a doubt it will be a healthy upgrade much like the 7 will be over the 6.

There will definitely be features that your current phone doesn't have. It will also be faster and have a better camera, just like all the other iPhones before it, who cares what it looks like, it's going to be the most feature rich iPhone ever made and Apple will profit on it like all the others before it as well. I have no doubts!

Well of course! Both those statements are bound to be true, and I wasn't disagreeing with that. Simply adding 1 new feature technically makes it the most feature-rich iPhone, and because it's a new iPhone, there's zero doubt that Apple will make a profit out of it. But if it truly is a "6SS", meaning it looks nearly identical, then it also looks bad for them.

Sure, most of us might not care if the iPhone uses the same body for the next 10 generations. But again, it definitely wouldn't *help* sales to keep the same design for a 3rd year. For many people, you could put all the features in the iPhone that are physically possible. But if it looks exactly the same as your 2-year-old model, they may feel as if they're not truly getting anything new. It's more of a psychological thing than anything.

Perfect timing for Apple to release a very similar-looking phone to the 6s Plus, right? They only lost $40 billion in market cap today ;)

I don't sit on their board of directors but I'm pretty sure the R&D for iPhone 7 is pretty much set in stone. If they're going to do anything "brave" as a result of their earnings, it won't be until the 7s or even 8.

This is not an actual engineering drawing that a manufacturer would use to make anything.

Don't call it something it is not.

The whole reason we got the SE was because they didn't want to redesign a brand new phone model they would only get 6 months out of before it became last years design. The 4" 6s design has sailed at this point. The SE will remain as is as Apple depreciates it over the next 3 years. Instead we'll get a brand new premium 4" 7 at the $599 price point to replace the SE in 3 years.

I am shocked.

Why is everyone so pessimistic on this?

Same dimensions are great, they can probably fit a bigger battery. They shouldn't go thinner or cheap out on the design just for the sake of having something new.

The SE is the 4 inch version of the 6S (A9 chip ect....) the 4.7 inch iPhone 7 will not get the dual camera so how could it be a pro? This year will be a perfect opportunity for Apple to market the plus as the pro model. (Pro shooter). My guess on the 4 inch phone would be that it would get similar design language as the other 2017 10th anniversary iPhones and just lack a couple features like the SE does at this time. In other words it will run the "A10 chip" but not have dual camera or certain software features of the 4.7 or 5.5. I think it's clear that Apple wants the larger phone to be the top of the class in features. That's where the money is. When walking around in the wild I see more phones 5 inches to 5.5 the most.

Looking at some of the comments here, I guess people only judge a book by its cover. If it looks the same, then it's no good. Who cares about the SoC, etc.

Looking back comparing the 6 and 6S, do people still think the 6S is nothing big over the 6, despite the huge advancement of the A9 chip?

It is obvious that Apple would want the 2017 iPhone to be a bang due to it being the 10th anniversary of its money maker. So physical design changes are probably saved for that one.

Still remember my first iPhone - original iPhone 1. What an AMAZING experience.
Almost a religious one. What a revelation.

Now, 10 years later - all the same and more of the same... 10 YEARS!!! :(
Wow, so you've been using your original iPhone till now and it's the same experience as the 6S? Are you a masochist or something?

Because people judge only by looks. I guess it's true what people been saying in the past, people buy iPhone only for the looks. Kinda obvious now when people are bashing the phone because it looks similar to the 6/6S.

Apple has never been one to release an "anniversary" product. If they do this, it will be a major change. They've also typically never held back, but pushed the envelope in terms of design and tech, as soon as possible. Add to that Apple's sales are in the toilet. If they delay launching the best they have just to honor an anniversary, they really deserve all the grief they're going to get with the apparently lackluster 7.

So you can only charge the phone or listen to music, but not both at the same time. I have an older car without bluetooth, so on trips i have stop listening to music to charge my phone? I charge my phone on my desk at the office while I listen to music.. now i have to wait, or always have manage the battery. Unless this thing has wireless charging somehow... i am missing something. Apple please stop working on a car.. u are distracted, Get back to your Core®

The only things Apple could do to excite me and prompt an iPhone 7 purchase is:

Sapphire display
4 gigs of ram
Stereo speakers
Super Amoled display
Ability to use Google Map as default

Geez....maybe I should buy an Android LOL

Why is this such a hard concept for people?

This problem has been solved since they invented electricity. One need look no further than the ends of most Christmas tree lights for the simple solution.

I don't agree. Apple is a company selling a product to it's customer base. With 1 billion customers, there are sure to be varied opinions. If you are going to "hate" apple, then that's where you're at. Nothing more, nothing less.

However, I can't quite call $40B this quarter and $50B last quarter falling through the floor. We don't agree on what "falling through the floor" really means.
