iPhone 7 to Include Five Colors, IPX7 Water Resistance, Dual 12MP Cameras on Plus Model

Negatives are everywhere Sunny. I call a spade a spade when I see it. Especially if someone is blatantly misquoted or wrong.

And not every Apple loyalist is disappointed. I consider myself positive and looking forward to Apple's iPhone 7. It all depends on what you consider dissapointed.

No disrespect to you, but your one of the most negative Forum members bashing the iPhone 7 for months now. Any one reading your previous posts will see this. It's clear your angry at Apple, which is your prerogative, but even on this thread, your Apple bashing.
Tough!! You seems angry on me :D say whatever you want apple bashing, misquoted, negative and nothing gonna bother me,in the meantime i stay polite and friendly not like :D

You've got to get better BT. I use mine for music all the time and have no problem.

For sure. Cheap, crappy Bluetooth sets have major cutting problems. I have three different Bluetooth headsets.

Jaybird X2s -- Have had these for a while. Very solid set. Never once had cutting issues.

Bose Soundsport Wireless -- Just got my replacement from Bose. Had cutting issues due to a design defect (only cut during intense workouts when they got quite wet). Replaced free of charge from Bose and they gave me a set of the wired Soundsports for free since there was a slight wait for the exchange. Zero cutting issues with the new set.

Beats Studio Wireless 2.0 -- Just got these during Best Buy's 50th sale. Great set for $180 or so. Have not had any issue at all with cutting and I've put them through some multi-hour commutes and sessions. On cheap sets, I've seen cutting issues after long sessions for some reason. Not at all with these.

Sure, but in the end, your current iPhone still has every single feature it came with when you bought it.

Personally my reason to upgrade would be the battery. my 6s just doesn't last as long as it once used to be.
I had the battery replaced in my 5-not-s and it's back to what it used to be. I can't remember what it cost, but it probably cost close to $100 through the Apple Store. Just about worth it to get another year or two of service out of it.

I find it weird how no one complains about the fact that they still stick with the same low screen resolution.
Apple is hopelessly behind all competition in PPI, and they get even more behind now during one year when the competitors improves and Apple stands still, and no one cares, everyone cares about everything else except that.

I'm not angry at you, being you typically respond against Apple in a negative fashion. It's an opinion and an observation of your posts. Nothing more.

I have a Note 7 and the bezel-less sides are not an issue at all. Don't worry the next iPhone will gain a curved screen as well and you'll be fine with it. If not just throw a case on it.

Right.. Tried it, returned... But "Don't worry"... There is a reason Bezels exist, waving your hands doesn't remove this reason.

I've never seen it described this way either, it took me a few seconds to work it out.

I think they were abbreviating or using industry jargon. Remember that Ming-Chi Kuo's reports are using industry sources. These sources may have used this nomenclature when giving him this info.
I'm seeing one mention that the P means "plastic", but I think you're right it's industry jargon. I'm seeing other phones listed as 5P lenses, but I still can't find a source that explains what it means.

The 6s lens is 5 elements. I can't even fathom how they get 5 shaped pieces of optics in a device that is 7mm thick (including sensor and housing).

Well,do you?
how can you be so sure I'm wrong?
I say so because based on what I've read all these months about dual lens and what it provides,it all sounds useless and gimmicky.
I could be wrong, but I'd love to hear your explanation about how it's a useful feature.

So your asking me to explain to you, how the dual camera would be a useful feature, when I have not even seen or confirmed if Apple is executing this? How about I provide you an in detail review once I see the dual camera demo from the Key Note? That seems more reasonable, does it not?

But what I won't do is label the dual camera gimmicky or useless until Apple has the opportunity to present its functions, that is if it even exists. Seems like anecdotal evidence is your point with a knee jerk reaction from
Something you, I and everyone else for that matter knows nothing about. Let's allow Apple to demonstrate its capabilities before you make more fly off the handle comments.

Not weird at all. And you have it right, no one cares. Except those who are into spec race induced "my phone is better than yours, nah nah ni nah, nah." There are many other phone attributes that are far more important to me.

My phone's display is 401 PPI and is great. Samsung could come out with a phone that's 4,001 PPI and I stilll wouldn't give two trucks.

By judging your previous posts you seems deeply frustrated from iPhone 7 haters :D (which is for sure the vital part of this forum)and i seems the victim of your anger and i already told you nothing gonna hurt me so say whatever you want and i am not going anywhere that's what i want to say. see you next time on booring launch day ;)

I'm just sayin', BT audio sucks. If someone wants wireless audio on an iPhone they must sacrifice audio quality.

Agreed. And even if it didn't, it would still be one more device to charge, all so that Apple can "fix" something that wasn't broken in the first place.

The worst part is that it is so completely unnecessary. Samsung's recent hardware manages to have much better waterproofing (IP68) than the rumored iPhone 7 WITHOUT removing the headphone jack.

I mean IPX7? Give me a break. IPX7 basically means if you splash it slightly and dry it off quickly enough, it probably won't die. That's really not significantly better than the iPhone 6S, other than the fact that it is officially rated now.

If this is really the best Apple can do even after removing the headphone jack, then I have to seriously wonder if Tesla really is stealing all their good engineers. I would have expected IP69K from Apple by now, or at least for them to catch up with the competition and ship IP68. Instead, they failed epically to keep up, and in a desperate attempt to not fall even further behind, were forced to remove hardware that a sizable percentage of its users depend upon on a daily basis, thus forcing users to buy unnecessary dongles that can break off in the lightning port and render your $800 phone worthless.

Seriously? This is what passes for "innovation" at Apple now? Sad. Just sad.

It's not only a spec race. I can clearly see the difference.

Why then do they not recall every product that has a Li-ion in it?

Did you just rationalize Samsung's faulty battery cells?

Go on YouTube and search for exploding iPhones. It does happen even to your "beloved zero defects in every phone ever made Jesus phone."

No to rationalize it would be to say only a few phones were effected so they shouldn't recall them all. Samsung isn't perfect, but they moved quickly on this matter. When it comes to acknowledging defects and fixing them is one area Asian companies are generally superior to American companies. I drive a Ford F-150 and I like it, but I'd put my faith in an Asian automaker ahead of an American one when it comes to standing behind the safety of their product.

This is the reason most people reading this probably chose an Asian car over an American one. The reason I point this out has to do with culture. Samsung will get this right and will ensure that the people or company that made the mistake are severely punished for it.

Please stop making yourself a victim. I never said anything to you that would be inconsiderate. I simply stated you Apple bash, which others in this exact thread have pointed out to you. It's not a secret Sunny.

Deeply frustrated by the iPhone 7 haters? I already explained myself to you on this, again, I reiterate, if I see something which is incorrect or misquoted, I say something. That has nothing to do with iPhone 7 haters. As a matter of fact, most have commended on a specific feature they like or dislike, which does not qualify an 'iPhone 7' hater.

Lastly, not only are you negative regarding the iPhone 7, now your reflecting your negativity towards to the KeyNote. I, for one, am looking forward to this, as are many others. Again, you exhibit someone who is bitter, just to be bitter.

Let's move on from this post, it's evident you are not understanding me.

Which is why your negativity is nothing more than an opinion at best. A lot of Forum members have commented on how they are looking forward to upgrade, including myself.

There is nothing exciting? Says who? You? I disagree. Why does everything have to be exciting or have the latest and greatest? iPhone's just work and their are plenty of new features their Adding. I feel this is solid upgrade in terms of internal enhancements.

Your comment on the dual camera set up is evident that no one knows how the dual camera Operates as of yet. Or were you going to say this is not exciting either?

The only positive thing in your post is the SE, which is a great phone.

Yeah, yeah yeah. Lot of people in this forum also agrees with me that iPhone 7 is just other boring upgrade which has no innovation at all.

Regardless if you agree or not. The fact is that iPhone is falling so far behind from competitors, only new colours and lame processor upgrade.

It is just basically iPhone 6S with more powerful processor. Tim Cook also a genius money grabber by removing 3.5mm so he can sell you an adaptor. Oh look, you need spend more money on that.

Regarding to dual camera. HTC tried it, Huawei tried it. Dual camera is not new thing. There is nothing excited about it. So far, I have yet seem any dual camera setup will drastically increase photo quality. I doubt Apple will do anything different.

So what? iPhone 7 is just a other regular upgrade with features that makes you pay more and borrowing some ideas fr competitors.

How is this crappy thing exciting? I will not watch Apple's event and I will not buy iPhone 7.

P.S. If you are looking for excitement from tech world. Look no further than Microsoft or Google's developer conference. I got super excited regarding to Holo Lens and Surface Book. The idea of transferring your smartphone to desktop PC is mind blowing. Google's investment on VR world etc. There is nothing exciting from Applw in recent years.

There have been numerous articles posted over the past few months talking about the rumor of Apple removing the 3.5mm jack. If you look back at those articles, the numbers of responses are astounding and the vast majority of responses are from people furious about the potential (probably imminent) 3.5mm jack removal.

The 3.5mm jack is a universal standard across laptops, automobiles, desktops, music players, stereos, mobile phones, tablets, even in-seat audio jacks on most passenger airlines. Removing this standard is a complete slap in the face to millions of consumers who have spent a lot of money on high quality headphones, earbuds, speakers, etc. that all use the 3.5mm standard.

I know people love to compare removing the 3.5mm jack to eliminating the old floppy or CD, but those were upgrades to new standards embraced by the entire computer industry as a move forward in technology and convenience.

If removed, Apple will have taken away a reliable open standard, replacing it with their proprietary standard, and I'm confident virtually no other equipment manufacture will ever embrace Lightning (I'm not talking about headset/earbud manufactures, I'm talking about other desktop, laptop, tablet, stereo, phone, automobile, music player, and aircraft manufactures). You are never going to see widespread acceptance of Lightning on other devices.

With this potential bonehead decision Apple does not move us forward, they lock us into a standard they control/own and move us away from the mainstream into a segregated solution that is not even available on Apple’s own computer line ... which coincidently uses the 3.5mm audio jack.

So what might Apple give us in return, maybe they shave a faction of a millimeter (bid deal) from the phone's thickness, and/or maybe we get a second (or better) speaker because they want us to believe we need some kind of so-called “stereo sound”. It’s pathetic!

Give us back the 3.5mm jack and keep your second/improved speaker. We don’t need a so-called stereo in our pockets.

It's with people like you that the world will never move forwards.

Did you just rationalize Samsung's faulty battery cells?

They're not Samsung's cells. They're cells from whatever manufacturer builds their batteries—probably one of the same manufacturers that Apple uses, incidentally—there aren't very many battery makers that are able to achieve state-of-the-art energy densities.

The Samsung battery issue could literally have happened to any company. In fact, it has happened to Apple on multiple occasions in the past.

Usually the first sign of failure is that the battery puffs up, indicating that there's hydrogen and/or hydrogen fluoride gas building up inside the cell. Eventually, if something punctures that cell (usually caused by it expanding beyond the limits of the case), the hydrogen reacts with oxygen in the air and it catches fire.

Over the years, I've had the following Apple batteries reach that puffed up stage:

* MacBook (2, IIRC)
* MacBook Pro (1)
* iPhone 5 (1), and no, mine was not in the recall range

That's out of a total of only about 9 or 10 Apple-branded Lithium polymer packs that I've owned or used at work. So more than a third of them reached a state where they were considered dangerous and had to be disposed of at a battery recycling center to avoid the risk of fire. Would they have eventually caught fire? It's hard to say. The point is that LiPo batteries are to some extent risky by their very nature.

Sweet! You'll just have to wait a bit longer than me, since deliveries will start on the West Coast and gradually work eastward! :p
I don't mind waiting. I'm relocating at the end of 2017, and it would be more convenient for me to take delivery after I'm settled in my new place. 2018 delivery will suit me fine.

It's with people like you that the world will never move forwards.

How does removing the headphone jack move the world forwards? Moving forwards means replacing old tech with something that is clearly better. This isn't doing that.

On the Lightning side, it is replacing a standard connector with a proprietary connector. That's moving the world backwards by any reasonable measure. Further, the Lightning connector is clearly inferior strength-wise to the 3.5mm mini plug, and because there's only one, if you damage it, your phone is unchargeable. In relative terms, that's one step forwards and about ten steps back.

And Bluetooth means no more wires, but comes at a cost of having to charge the batteries in your headphones pretty much every single day. At best, that's a wash, and a lot of people really don't like the idea of having a radio transmitter in their ears, so really Bluetooth is a step backwards, too, even if they manage to increase the battery life to a week per charge, make it low-latency, and prevent dropouts completely. Until then, it is several steps backwards.

Just because something has been around for four decades doesn't mean that it is out of date. If anything, the fact that it has been around for four decades usually means that it is a really good design that serves a particular need better than anything else. The sweet spot for innovation is between 5 and 15 years. If it hasn't been around for 5 years, it probably isn't crufty enough to replace yet. If it has been around for more than 15 years, there's probably a really good reason not to replace it.

I had the battery replaced in my 5-not-s and it's back to what it used to be. I can't remember what it cost, but it probably cost close to $100 through the Apple Store. Just about worth it to get another year or two of service out of it.

How bad was your battery when it was being replaced, just out of curiosity? Most of my iPhone batteries would drastically decrease its performance around it's first anniversary mark, I'd assume it's my usage? IDK.....

Oh well, it's always another excuse for me to upgrade too, instead if spending 100 or so on an one year old device, I could just drop another 100 and get a new gen :D sadly not anymore with ATT getting rid of the 2 year contract thing though.

Wanna know a secret? I have owned every iPhone model released aside from the original - and I've never used Bluetooth for anything. Not even one single time. And I'm quite pissed that I will be forced to if these rumors are true. Or, carry around a stupid dongle piece that I'm sure I will lose. Or if not lose, will need to replace over time.

PLEASE stop defending this ridiculously anti-consumer decision. Even the Woz hates it.
