Suppose you have kids, will you let your kids play with Note 7 for long hours now that you know about it?

Sure. It's only happening when it's charging so off the charger I don't think it's going to just blow up. You do realize that you assume some risk with any product that has a Li-ion in it? They all can and do explode. Knowing this will you now let your kids play with a phone?

I'll take that piano black in 128GB. Overall seems like a solid upgrade, I just hope they include Bluetooth air pods.

If the piano black is real, I can't imagine how badly it will scratch. I would never, ever buy anything piano black unless I was wrapping it in something.

It will be 4.2. 5.0 requires a new Chip that will not be ready for volume shipping until early 2017. All the BlueTooth worshippers in here will need to wait for the Apple Phone in 2017. :apple:

What's your source for that? Apple is a member of the BT SIG -- they helped develop BT 5. Why do we think they are not having a custom chip developed for their exclusive use at the launch next week?

Let it go..... Again I am going to say this over and over...... That 3.5 jack takes up an enormous amount of internal space you do realize that right? Removing it allows for much more internal space for things like battery, speakers, and so on. So what difference does it make if apple will be including a lightning to 3.5 adapter? How many people truly use the 3.5 jack AND the lighting port at the same time? Likewise I am sure there will be y adapters out there to allow for charging and 3.5 jack. Even on the android side they are moving away from the 3.5 port and going over to USB-C.... The 3.5 jack is a dying tech standard. The new standard will be USB-C/Bluetooth.

I don't want to be that prick, but I use headphones and charge at the same time while at my desk for about 4 hours everyday. Also, Bluetooth has latency issues. I use my phone for audio recording and the latency of Bluetooth makes it impossible to play guitar or drums through the phone.

Things I'm happy about and looking forward to:
1. New 32GB storage capacity
2. Piano Black color option
3. No headphone jack and EarPods; the 3.5mm adaptor is a bonus and didn't expect apple to offer this in the box
4. Earpiece receiver to become speaker; now I wish they would put a speaker where the headphone jack was and not just put the speaker holes there for cosmetic/symmetric design reasons.
5. Click-less home button- FINALLY!! I'm really looking forward to that one. The same year they introduced the trackpads, they should have done this.
6. The dual cameras, one being wide-angle. Apple it's like you heard my mobile needs.

Sold my 6 plus already and I'm just waiting to pre-order my new iPhone.

Nope, IPX7 only specifies no water ingress at 1M for 30 minutes. It is not inclusive for ratings below 7.

Doesn't really matter cause Apple over-engineers things A LOT in those case.

For example, the Apple Watch is also just IPX7 and I know a lot of people who swim with it regularly for nearly 15 months (even in the ocean) and take showers with them. A phone doesn't even need that level of protection so we can rest assured that it will be AOK for most people's use near water.

How many of you REALLY listen to music and charge at the same time? On a regular basis? Probably not a lot. And if you do, big deal. Just use an adapter and call it a day. Life goes on...
only probably daily when driving home after work. Phones usually on about 10% after a 10 hour work day (i use my phone a fair bit). So for me having the capability to charge while having the comfort of being able to play music rather than listen to FM News whole drive home is quite a nice thing.

Do you believe there will be an adapter which charges AND allows you to output via aux?

Dual lens camera seems to be the leat useful feature ever,it just screams gimmick..

Wow. One of the Most superficial comments I have read so far on this thread. Let me be entirely accurate, you think a dual camera design, which has not even been released yet or confirmed, is a gimmick? How so? Have you seen any results for the dual camera results? Are you aware of any specifications for the dual camera?

Judging and disparaging the dual camera before anyone has even seen it in person? Gotcha.

Okay, so the only thing we have here...

New A10 chip - Almost double the speed of the 6, fine, but great games run fine.. could wait till next year.

Storage Capacities - Doesn't really matter if you like your current storage capacity.

Color Options - Superficial, just color.

Water Resistance - Superficial, I can shower without my phone just fine.

No headphone jack - I'll let early adopters adjust to it for a year, I can wait on that.

earpiece receiver becoming a speaker - Okay, but my iPhone sounds fine now. Can hold out till next year.

Clickless home button - nice, but just a new touch.

Wide color displays - Nice, but am I happy with what I have now? its good enough.

Dual lens rear camera - This is definitely very useful WANT.

Upgraded rear camera flash - Flash, photos look better wtihout it.

Upgraded proximity sensor - Not that big of a deal.

FeliCa NFC - Don't make so many contactless payments.

So in the end, it really boils down to the Camera, new A10 Chip, and better color displays.
Give the iPhone 7 is a new release, any slowness from new apps that push the processor to its limits probably won't have negative on the 6S at least within the 1st year of its launch.

This makes Camera the only thing that I really care about. Given the cost of the iPhone and major redesign coming next year, I think this still justifies the "okay to wait till 2017" stance!

So, you down played every new feature possible for an upgrade, thinking its 'Just another 6s?' Fortunately, not everyone shares your lack there of features who agree this is a decent upgrade. This is an upgrade which will better your current device in a lot of respects. Try not to downplay the iPhone 7 before it's released, as if you have actually had the opportunity to use it.

You won't enjoy your hands-free time simply because you won't have any left, spending your life pairing your BT prosthesis with all of the above.
Anyway I was just trying to support Calzon65 post vs. Mansu944 answer, see the quotes links

I have a half dozen BT speakers in my house and in all of my vehicles, including rental cars which I use regularly. Never had a pairing issue. No one in my family does.
Ming-Kuo Needs to give it a rest? He apparently has inside connections with manufacturers and suppliers. He is fairly accurate, not perfect, but He is a regular source for Macrumors and other various sites.

And for those who make the cheap, shoddy Apple comments are hating for their own personal reasons. That can't be controlled one way or the other.

Sarcasm Relentless. Sarcasm

Wow. You would really have quite a point; if that were actually the actual reason, or even if someone had actually said that was the reason. But the only one who has said that was the reason is you.
And the funniest part about the whole thing is; That's not the reason.

- No headphone jack, with Apple providing both Lightning EarPods and a Lightning to 3.5 mm jack adapter in the box. Removal of the headphone jack will allow for an upgraded speaker and a new sensor for improved Force Touch.
- Earpiece receiver to become a speaker with the addition of a new audio amplifier. Rather than putting a second speaker at the bottom in place of the headphone jack, Apple is said to be upgrading the earpiece receiver at the top of the device to become a full speaker. The change would provide enough separation to allow for stereo sound when the device is held in landscape orientation.

I guess I linked the dots there?

You've got to get better BT. I use mine for music all the time and have no problem.

Depends on who you are and what you're upgrading from. I'm still using a 5-not-s, so it's just a question of when to pull the trigger. The iPad Pro display is beautiful, so that counts for a lot. 256GB would be fantastic so I don't need to downsample my library so heavily. I've never had a problem with water, but if you see how many warranty repairs are denied because of water damage, you can see the value here. I've got mixed feelings on the headphone jack-- I just picked up a pair of BT headphones that I'm quite happy with, but use the 1/8" jack to connect when I rent a car so I'll kind of miss it. If the adapter is easy enough to use, and comes in the box, then I'm good. If you live in Japan, FeliCa is invaluable, but I don't live in Japan so it's a push. Wish they included it in all phones though to facilitate travelers.

My main reason for wanting to get my 5-not-s to make it another year is the rumors of an all glass housing. I loved the 4 series with glass front and back. That said though, there's enough on this list that if I'm forced to upgrade this year I won't mind-- there's enough benefit over the 6s that I won't wish I'd done it a year earlier and I'm not an OLED fetishist...

Well,do you?
how can you be so sure I'm wrong?
I say so because based on what I've read all these months about dual lens and what it provides,it all sounds useless and gimmicky.
I could be wrong, but I'd love to hear your explanation about how it's a useful feature.

The dual camera is only way I may buy it. Otherwise I will stick to my 6s plus. But I hate that there aren't two year contracts. It would be more pricey to sell mine 6s plus 128gb and buy a new one flat out.

Sure, but in the end, your current iPhone still has every single feature it came with when you bought it.

Personally my reason to upgrade would be the battery. my 6s just doesn't last as long as it once used to be.

I doubt it is an excuse, I doubt they need an excuse.
Rather I presume it is pointing the way towards a wireless future.
A device with no ports and no cables.
Which sounds like a good idea to me.
I recall having to plug so many things into computers in earlier times.
Printers, scanners, cameras, backup disks, ethernet cables, loudspeakers, headphones, microphones,
For me: Good riddance to those days.

The wireless technology is not ready at the moment though...
The improvement since my first pair of stereo Bluetooth headset from 2007 up til 2016 (about 20 pairs of them at last count) is too minimal and nowhere close to a pair of wired headphones. And I am not talking about high end wired headphones.

The amount of flaming on this thread..

All so passionate about Apple, and being right, the community turns against itself.

Let's all be one big Apple Family, and respect each others opinions.

Less flame, more love :apple:

Being this particular article will draw the ultimate response to those who choose to support the iPhone 7 and those who will shun it, you will see a lot of mixed responses. This has been a challenging decision for some with the respect of the 3.5 Jack being deleted. On the contrary, I have read a lot of posts where customers are excited to upgrade. But the negative posts are expected and in some respects, tolerable.

I don't see it where this particular thread is turning against each other. Some of the positive and negative posts have made some very compelling arguments. The Community needs both to see opposing views, which provides a further understanding.
