As there is no way for me to link my phone to my car and charging too (I do that often as I drive a lot and like to listen to audiobook during), I'm out this Gen, might give Android a try finally
I'm sure the will be an adapter for this which you will leave in your car, plug in and hardly notice.

next year. Your looking at the best iphone ever right here. Next year go just have a new outside body, this year everything is new from that second speaker in the headset to improve water proffing, to added headphone adapter etc etc

But apple has always been proprietary. Lightening/30 pin instead of USB. MagSafe instead of whatever pcs use. DisplayPort/thunderbolt instead of vga/hdmi. You have always had to buy adaptors to link in to the real world with apple. They have always done their own thing and have never suffered because of it.
My PC has both thunderbolt and DisplayPort!

I went to the Note 7 and if course it gets recalled. I really love this phone from a design perspective it puts Apple to shame. The screen, bezels, wireless and quick charging are great features.

Apple on the other hand kills it with the CPU and GPU. I don't play games but I give credit where it is due. I only wish I could use iOS on the Note 7 once the batteries are fixed of course haha.

Whereas Samsung kills you with the booby trapped batteries

There are rumors each year as the next MacBook Pro having some sort of display on the keyboard.

Typically of 10 rumors, only a few happen. I've heard many of these rumors already. Except removing the home button this year. I heard that for 2017. Seeing a post somewhat suggesting all these things will happen this year not just a few is exciting to me.

In general though. Do you think the people that go to the keynotes haven't heard these rumors? Yet each year there is a big applause as confirmation plus explanation of the operation leads to excitation.

That's what I'm saying. People will be excited when they actually see high resolution images of the phone and a walkthrough of the features.

I think it's likely that a lot of the thing in this article will happen.

The 3.5mm jack is a decades old piece of technology that is long past its sell-by date. It's inefficient for the production of audio compared to digital output methods and is holding the industry back from widely adopting high quality input methods, like lighting or usb-c, and from forcing innovators to finally come up with more efficient bluetooth technology. The headphone jack is lazy. Good riddance.
I don't disagree, though admittedly the headphone jack is super convenient.
Despite all the hand wringing, samsung will have at least one model sans headphone jack in 18 months.

Ok, so if this phone looked different then it would be hyped like crazy. Truth be told, if these rumors pan out, this is one of the biggest upgrades we've seen in awhile that hits multiple areas of use. Better screen (if you've seen the new iPad, this is a huge deal), water "resistant" - waterproof for most people's needs, stereo sound (kind of scares me - end a call, sudden max volume music resumes right into your ear), far better storage options than anyone could've hoped, probably the best camera ever in a smart phone depending on your preferences (My Note 5 was the previous winner IMO - just my own thing), and I'm betting by 2018 no smartphone will have a headphone jack

I was extremely lukewarm on this release and was even considering just not upgrading for the first time since iPhone came out. Now I have to set another 3am alarm.

Let it go..... Again I am going to say this over and over...... That 3.5 jack takes up an enormous amount of internal space you do realize that right? Removing it allows for much more internal space for things like battery, speakers, and so on.

I agree, but so does making the phone a few mm thicker.

Which depending on who you speak to, it's the lesser of two evils.

Sounds not enough to upgrade from iPhone 6s plus
Sound, a new color, updated screen to match date of ipad pro, bigger battery, updated camera, no home button (force touch), 2 nd speaker, improved water proffing, A10 chip and new M chip, tru tone, new and improved headphones, more RAM, more Space, OMG the list goes on!

It was only a matter of time when the 3.5mm jack was discontinued. And since Apple is including an adapter I don't see the big deal here.

I agree that the adapter should be included but, come on, if it is, I'd be forced to ask "who are you and what have you done to the real Apple?" - odds are it will be an extra $10.

Having co carry an adapter around on the go isn't the terrible privation that some people make out, but its hardly an upgrade, and it's not clear what you're getting in return. iPad Pro-quality speakers might be nice but, lets be honest, those are only "high quality" relative to what you would expect from such tiny speakers, so they're not going to replace decent external speakers.

Also, as well as investing money in high-quality headphones, people plug phones into home HiFis, cars etc. and often charge them at the same time. So it will be interesting to see if the adapter includes a lightning socket for charging (which will also make it more bulky on-the-go). Or there's the Lightning dock (more $ and not suitable for in-the-car).

Even my Bluetooth headphones have the nice feature that - if they run out of juice or you encounter a Jobsworth flight attendant in the air* - you can plug them in via a 3.5mm cable.

(*the idea that turning on WiFi would cause the plane to fall out of the air seems to have been abandoned now that the airlines have realised they can charge you money for internet access - but the rules seem a bit ambiguous on Bluetooth).

- Dual-lens rear camera on the iPhone 7 Plus, which will increase Apple's costs by about $40 and could make the iPhone 7 Plus more expensive than the iPhone 6s Plus. Both lenses will be 12-megapixel, but one will be a wide-angle camera with larger pixel sizes, a 6P lens, and optical image stabilization, while the second will be a telephoto lens with smaller pixel sizes and a 5P lens.
Oh FFS, come on. I already felt robbed paying $950 when I bought the 6 Plus at 128GB, now it's going to be at $1000? Sorry, that's the point where I have to step back and say 'I'm done'. I'm not doing that. I don't care if it's 256GB. Same reason I didn't go for the Note 7, that's too ridiculous to spend on a phone. The $650 for my S7 was really pushing it but it's a decent value, the same price also gets you a 128GB Nexus 6P and I can only assume the new Pixel phones will be around the same. However, for the iPhone, $650 will only get you a 16GB regular 6S, and this new one I assume will be a regular 7 at 32GB, not upgradable or anything.

There comes a time when you have to step back and say, "Enough."

Yes, everyone that is not of the same opinion as you are certainly trolling :S
For opinion to count it has to have base in fact coupled along with some post history overview of the two it doesn't take 4 scientists to come to conslusion.

A 32GB base model (though at least three years overdue) is probably my favorite news about the iPhone 7. I was originally thinking about waiting and getting a 64GB 6S once the prices dropped but now I may as well go for the base model 7.

For those wondering why there would be two new dark colours, think Apple Watch...

I think the darker black is the same anodised aluminium as the other iPhones, like the Sport Apple Watches. It will come in the same storage tiers and prices as the other new iPhones.

The piano black is the Space Black Apple Watch, maybe made of steel or some liquid metal alloy and covered in the same Diamond-like coating.

It will only come in 256GB and it will be the top of the range with a price tag to match.

Thank you so much for clearing that up, I did not know Apple is allowed to make these kinds of decisions.
No worries, your initial spew indicated that you're confused about Apple's leeway.

Since my posts on this subject consistently receive more likes that other posts on the same subject, I was lulled into a false sense of feeling vindicated, but then as a 5-year old, I am allowed some slack in my opinions.
Absolutely! Perhaps you're also confused about whether these forums (and the number of "likes") in any way reflect the real world of consumer's desires and views?
