I see a pattern that suggests you need an eye examination. iPhone 4 and 5 didn't look the same at all. iPhone 6 and 7 do. We all know the S variants share the same design as their predecessor

"You don't have the same viewpoint as I do so you are wrong!"

"...But you're right about the overall point... I'm just too maddened to see it!"

...uh huh....

There is a redesign ppl. It's right in the article, OLED, glass, edge to edge etc. I would love to have the upgraded aluminum phone be an option along with whatever new phone Jony is cooking up in his lab. If the rumors play out to be true, IMO I am not excited about wireless charging and the glass back already gives me anxiety over possibly breaking it.

The glass back is not there just for looks (although I'm sure it will help in the looks department). To do the type of wireless charging that Apple is trying to pull off, the glass back is essential for properly wireless transparency.

"Oh good Apple is going to release another boring iPhone! Let's quickly get this new phone out to market!
No no, don't worry about that! let's not nit pick things! Just get it out the door!!
We can finally beat Apple!"

Any rumors for the SE replacement? Since I don't have complaints about my 6S just yet, if I'm buying a new iPhone, it would be the the cheaper SE price point.

I'm all for more color option. The gold and rose gold options are getting stale as every Chinese phones are doing the same color option.
And please color match the stupid antenna bands. Seriously. Apple can color match them for the black and jet black, so why leave ugly thick white lines for the rest?

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah…

Every time I read these so-called "reports."

One person's attempting to call out fanboism is another person's making a point.

But we will see. The "cure" according to some might be worse than the "disease".

When you buy a car and this years model is similar to last years model, do you walk out the door? Or do you find out it's a new engine, new brake design etc?

Neither, I do my research online and wouldn't buy a car that looks almost identical to my current car.

What point were you attempting to make about about iPhone sales/the direction of Apple by making a snarky remark about Samsung phones? Sorry I missed it.

The car analogy doesn't really work either. People dont turn over cars at anything like the same rate as a smartphone. If people only bought a new phone every 6 years (average length of ownership in the US) Apple would have more to worry about that the minute internal upgrades they're put in the latest model.

A six year old iPhone would be as good as useless at this point.

Perhaps I jumped to conclusions. It may not be a vision problem, but the voices in your head... Who are you quoting?

did you bother to actually read the article? "If this report is accurate, it could signify Apple's plans to release a completely overhauled glass-backed iPhonewith a curved, bezel-free OLED display and wireless charging at the high end of its 2017 smartphone lineup, while making only incremental upgrades to its traditional 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhones with LCD displays."

it makes a lot of sense to update the 7 and introduce a new higher end model. It's what they did with the apple watch to much success. it allows them to introduce a more expensive iPhone but still offer one that's got the latest processor in it at a lower price.

Exactly. Well said.

The SE and the 7plus are awesome phones. You won't be disappointed with a SE replacement or a 7s.

Who knows if this rumor is correct or not, but it makes more sense than them doing a complete redesign on the S cycle. I'm sure if we give it a few more months we will start getting more reliable rumors.

"We have the strongest pipeline that we've ever had and we're really confident about the things in it, but as usual we're not going to talk about what's in it."

"Our aim was to create an all-enveloping magical experience that celebrates our enormous respect for tradition while recognizing our excitement about the future and things to come."

I hope that you enjoy your new iPhone 6sss — it’s a fantastic phone! :)

Honestly it isn't even a surprise at this stage. What has Cooks response been to every other market that has experienced slowing/falling sales? Increase the cost thus squeezing out extra margin or separate the features across the line up in an attempt to make the more expensive model sell more thus increasing the average selling price.

They've been doing this on the iPhone for years putting the higher end features (Optical Image Stabilization/ Dual Camera) on the bigger more expensive phone.

Fully expect this to come alongside newer redesigned models which will be priced higher than the current phone.

And it's paying off. Sales of the 7 Plus are huge. Smart business.

It would almost certainly be the final nail for Cook. He NEEDS to go. The guy is a moron.
A moron CEO who's primary job is to bring in as much money as possible. I could've sworn Apple has had record profits under that moron. How dare he do his job so well, who does this guy think he is?

As Predicted. 4.7" 7s LCD A11. 5.5" 7s LCD A11. 5.7" OLED, Wireless Charge, All new Design (Either iPhone Pro, or 10th ann.) BIG $$$
No OLED across the line until 2018.

Tim's departure just can't come soon enough. Pathetic leadership, QC, and just plain greed. :apple:

Or with Apple getting on board the OLED train, supplies of OLED screens will be seriously tight in 2017. Other Samsung, the rest of the panel manufacturers won't be able to meet Apple's supply needs until 2018

http://www.patentlyapple.com/patent...ne-will-have-a-curved-display-as-rumored.html

"People familiar with the matter said Apple will likely rely on Samsung for most of its initial OLED needs but it wants LG Display, Japan Display and Sharp to ramp up production to have supplies ready for 2018."

The point, since you admit you missed it, are these phones are expensive. The entire lot of them, and Samsung produces devices that essentially look like one another and they sell.

And cars sell even though many popular models are similar to previous years.

But many people do. My friends 2016 MB looked very much like his 2015 MB. Typical buyer? I can't say.

...and actually this wouldn't necessarily completely debunk the Kuo guessing, as he only said that the body of the two other phones would change from aluminum to ceramic. So a possible 7s would be a further refinement of he awesome iPhone 7 allowing for wireless charging. Which might have been the original case for the 7 but wasn't ready yet in which it didn't a 3.5 jack as wireless charging might have been originally expected as a feature.

The odds of an OLED phone next year are looking less and less likely as supply issues haven't been solved yet. That's why I feel the complete redesign for the 8 won't happen until the following year.
Better to wait until the tech is ready tan rushing something out in a panic over competition.
Again, Samsung taught us this much.

"The odds of an OLED phone next year are looking less and less likely as supply issues haven't been solved yet."

Exactly. People don't seem to understand that. Especially when you consider that Apple makes over 200 million iPhones a year.

So many people complaining and saying they won't buy because of no redesign. Yet you see these same users posting "got my new iPhone" threads every year...

Please tell me they are joking? Please... if there's no major update after THREE years of the same design then I'm pretty sure this company wants to commit suicide.

there will be a new design, but these phones will be sold alongside the new design.

He's not right for Apple. I didn't say he was bad at his job. He's just the wrong man for this specific job. He is totally boring and if Apple continue to play it safe, they will start struggling to maintain momentum.
