As an Apple shareholder, all I can say is keep making me money, Apple. :D

If they discontinue product lines, such as Airport WiFi router products and displays (well, display - I sure as heck ain't gonna buy that ugly thing from LG) and hardly ever update their current products and raise the prices on the products that they, though at least, still make, then I kinda doubt that the money train will have enough steam for the next few ears.

Sure looks like I'll be leaving Apple's products for good, unless their next event will be spectacular, and I'm not holding my breath as the last ones have been extremely lackluster. So yeah, I sure hope Apple keeps making money for you even though I doubt it because it sure seems like there are quite a few here that are really considering leaving Apple (and I've been following this forum and others for a number of years and I don't think I've seen people on Apple forums stating they are looking seriously into buying competitors products - as for me, my next phone will very likely be Samsung Galaxy S8)

Just buy insurance for it. Learned my lesson about buying Samsungs the hard way. Never going back.

I completely agree. In fact, a few months ago (after that horrible MacBook Pro launch) I edited my vision for how their products should be named/organized:
ProposedLineup.jpg

I wish they had a concise layout for their offerings. The laptops and iPads especially keep getting confusing. Which is smaller? The air, or the mini? Wait, the MacBook is smaller than the MacBook air? Is the iPad Air 2 the newest? I keep forgetting. Keep in Mind that the small iPad Pro and iPad air have the same screen size. There is way too much disorganization and overlap! Simplify!

I like your idea when it comes to idevices, because size rather than power is the main differentiating factor between models.

But it doesn't work quite so well with the Mac line, where computing power rather than size represents the main point of differentiation between models. For example, compare the 12 inch MacBook to the 13 inch MacBook Pro.

That's your loss my friend.

In truth, Apple would get heaps of sales if they only changed this to "Limited edition" Apple won't have to worry any more about sales declining.

Such a system wouldn't accurately capture the central difference between a 12 inch MacBook and a 13 inch MacBook Pro.

I'm actually quite impressed with his mock up; this is how it should be - simple. But I would love for the laptops to be 12" (the MacBookMini), 14" (the MacBook) and 16" (the MacBookPlus) - the power should be the same, only the storage should have variations -- just like in the phones ...as it is at least now, god knows if they'll fck it up this September or not

That's exactly what I think they are doing by creating a test bed for new tech and materials that will eventually trickle down to the standard models. Using early adopters/collectors as beta testers is brilliant. This whole Edition thing isn't going away, if they actually implement it of course.:p

The "rumored" name sucks, but if it has support for capturing wide color in 10 bits, AND displaying 10-bit wide color, then it could be a very BIG hit, regardless of the name.

10-bit wide color would enable it to sync-up with 4K UHD TVs, many of which already have DCI-P3 10-bit support ... so, only a relatively-minor color space conversion would be necessary to display your iPhone 8 (Display P3) content on your 4K UHD TV, in all it's vivid colors.

Me too, and I'd also be on board with it if the computing power was the same between models. Unfortunately, that's not the case. The 12 inch MacBook and 13 inch MacBook Pro have very different capabilities.

I'm glad I upgraded to the iPhone 7 instead of waiting. Although these are still just rumors, I'm happy to be skipping this year's shenanigans. And if I were in the market for a phone this year, I'd feel cheated spending $800+ for a 7s when Apple is holding back on the iPhone 8 goodness.

Maybe they put the home button on the side. The touch bar and aWatch are such small surfaces that they may have the technology.
Eh I think its fine where it is. And the home button on the iphone 7 versus all the previous models is, in my opinion, perfect. I love not having a physical button that can break, yet still having that same "button" feel. In my opinion its something apple got very right on the 7 and I hope to see it on this years release.

It's a shame, but I don't get the same feeling when pressing the iphone 7 home button as I did on previous iPhone models.

Where the Magic Trackpad feels so much like a real button that recesses when pressed, the iPhone 7 home button, to me, just feels weird.

I can see that. I get a little bit of what youre describing, but in the opposite way, when I press the home button on my iPad. I wish it had the button the iPhone 7 has haha.

I definitely prefer the button the iPhone 7. It felt weird the first week but now I totally like the haptic feedback. As for the magic trackpad, that I do not like. I have a 2013 Macbook Pro as my personal computer and a 2015 Pro from work, and I just can't get use to the 2015 version. It feels like I need to press very hard to activate a "click" which hurst my finger after prolonged usage. I don't get that from my 2013 Macbook.

Haha, guess it's just a matter of getting used to it. I don't own an iPhone 7, so I'm still very much used to the feel of the previous home button. All for change if it's good though, and from your experience it sounds like it has been!

Ya when I had my 6s plus and even iPhone 4, I was always worried about the home button breaking (it happened on a samsung phone I had later on). I know apple made them to be very reliable, and I know the motivation behind the button on the 7 was for water resistance, but after a few days it starts to feel just...better.

You need to adjust your settings, on the lowest click setting on my 2015 machine I only need to press slightly more than resting my hand on the trackpad (its very sensitive at that setting).

OMG how did I never notice there was a setting for that!?! LOL Well I set it to light "click" and it does feel a bit better. Less strain on the my finger joints for sure. Thanks for the advice!

Yea if it's maxed out it can definitely take quite a bit of pressure, hopefully this resolves it. I have to admit (not having used a 2016 model) these are by far my favorite trackpads.
