I'm pretty rose gold/gold will make a return.

From the sound of it they're having trouble manufacturing enough units to meet demand so it makes sense to just offer silver and black until production can keep up.

Wasn't the iPhone 4s in white introduced several months after the official debut of the iPhone 4s?

That would make sense, kind of like how Samsung has a mid cycle relaunch with new colors.
I'm not sure about the white 4s being released later than the black 4s.

I wouldn’t call it a flop, but there is not a strong incentive to upgrade to the 8 if you have a 7/7plus.

Personally, I am going to get the X. If I miss a delivery window within a month, I will just get an 8 or 8plus. I bet a lot of people are doing the same.

Also there are tons of people on upgrade plans. Whether through Apple or their carrier. The price difference to upgrade to the X isn’t that different from an 8plus.

Agreed. I had the 6s+ and I almost didn't upgrade - actually planned not to. Since it only cost me $119 to do so with the IUP plan, I broke down and ordered the 8+. If I had the 7+, definitely wouldn't have gotten the 8+.

Why do people assume a phone upgrade is only good if the previous year phone owners chose to upgrade? What about all the 6 and 6S owners? Most people don’t get a new phone every year.

I'm on 6S+ And definitely be getting the 8+ in a couple of months after I get a good battery case for it.

I would argue most people are getting phones every year now. Very few people buy phones outright. If you are paying the phone off over 24 months, you are better off using the upgrade programs.

You pay off your phone after 24 months and are ready for a new one. The second hand market is trash for 2 year old phones. Just upgrade every year and it cost nearly the same.

I prefer to keep all of my old Apple devices. Also the upgrades in smartphones year over year aren't that great anymore anyway.

I have a two year old 6S - deciding between a 7+ and 8+ this year on AT&T Next. I'll upgrade to the new X next year

People here don't think like the average consumer, which is who companies like Apple actually cater to since they are the large majority. In my opinion it's almost never worth it to upgrade a phone after only one year. It's pretty much just going to do the same thing as your current phone, only a bit faster and maybe with one new gimmick. Any phone that was any good in the first place should be good for at least 2 or 3 years.

That depends what country you are in. Where I live a 24 month contract is by far the most common method of owning a mobile phone. The upgrade programs are very expensive and I'm yet to meet anybody that uses them. The iPhone 8 on the Apple upgrade program is £50p/m and that's before a sim contract is added. Compare that to £30p/m on a 24 month contract and you can see why people are reluctant. The upgrade program doubles the price of the average contract whereas most contracts now give you a 25% discount if you pay off early.

A day after preorder and you can still easily reserve for launch day pickup in most stores.

Demand doesn’t seem so strong. Wireless charging doesn’t make the 8 Plus worth $1000, when you could just spend $9-20 and get a qi case and call it a day. Considering most are going to put a case anyway.

That is a good point. Generally speaking contracts are dead in the US, so it’s buy outright, pay over 24 months, or be on an upgrade plan. I use to buy outright when phones were $650 and resale value was strong. The 256gb X price just doesn’t make sense to buy outright.

Don't know what size your hands are but .3 of an inch won't prohibit me from using it with one hand.
Hold your iPhone 6,6S, or 7 like normal. Swipe down from the top like normal.

Now do the same action but 2mm higher than your top speaker all one handed.

Wireless charging is kind of BS, but fast charging is much more important, and what ultimately made me go for the 8 over the 7
