Let me clear your doubt o_O Here is another version of iPhone 7 Plus lying face down on the concrete

And this is supposed to prove what exactly? The first picture you displayed as an iPhone 7 Plus was laying face down on concrete WITHOUT a case. Now these pictures have an iPhone 7 Plus WITH a case laying face down on different concrete. Again, copy/pasting pictures off the internet isn't difficult to do.

I assume you say the same about every new laptop that comes out today as well?

This is still a design change wtf are you expecting?

On another note this story has a 50/50 chance of being correct. Safe bet for MR.
No I think he was implying that this happens every year with the iPhone. They announce it in Sept but supplies are so constrained that it takes months to finally walk into a store and buy one.

Here's what I think:

1. The iPhone 7S, 7S Plus and 8 models are announced on September 5, 2017.
2. iPhone 7S and 7S Plus sales start on September 22, 2017, preloaded with iOS 11.0.
3. iPhone 8 sales start on November 3, 2017, preloaded with iOS 11.1, which adds features specific to the iPhone 8.

No Rush here. I'm waiting on my "10th Anniversary" skin to arrive in the mail and the 7 Plus is more than capable.

My iPhone 7 is so good that I'm only interested in upgrading to OLED. If it comes to pass that it's not available in the smaller size, then I'm not interested. I'll be very disappointed if only the ridiculous Plus model gets the OLED display.

What's a particular point in time? A day? Why not the specific hour, or minute? It's arbitrary. I've already listed multiple examples of instances when an "anniversary" is recognized during an extended period of time. I don't really understand why you're being so particular about it. Do you think that every anniversary edition of a product, film, book, etc. comes out on the exact day of the anniversary? They usually come out any time during the year. No one else is that hung up on it.

OK, enjoy your Anniversary iiPhone

Also, it is not the time frame that makes the phone an anniversary phone, it's the number.

Then the iPhone 7 is already the tenth anniversary iPhone if you count them all. Look I get it. People here think their phone is so important Apple couldn't possibly miss an arbitrary date in history but really it's just wishful thinking on their behalf.

Hit a nerve did I? You do understand that every iphone release comes with gloom and doom on supply contstraints along with the dash of impossible to get one.

Ok, I fed you.

Given it's likely close to a 5 inch form factor I think you will be fine with that

Oh wait, so the "news" has changed again? Hold on a sec please, I've got to find my calendar so I can rub out all the dates you told me the other day... but hang on, how do I know you won't change your mind AGAIN in a week?

Tell ya what, I think I'll just wait until Apple announce the event themselves; seems a lot less bothersome and more sensible.

:p

I was just reading about the 40th anniversary celebration/events that Lucasfilm/Disney are planning for Star Wars this month, even though the film actually came out in late May of '77. Someone better tell them that it's actually the 39th year and 11 month anniversary! ;)

And for the record, I've still never stated that there will or won't be an Anniversary edition of the iPhone. Who knows? I just disagree with your very specific idea of when anniversaries have to be acknowledged.

Okay I expect you to honor your post and wait it out until September before making another iPhone related post. In the mean time MR will continue to be a rumor site. Is it a deal?

I've got to say if the iPhone looks anything like this mock up, then, wow, Cupertino is in a serious design rut.

I also heard that iphone 9 would be sold on September but in 2018. And there is no shipment issues reported (yet).

I heard the iPhone 9s will be released in late September 2019, but in short supply and most likely won't be easily available until sometime in early 2020

It seems like Apple is going to split the screen into two sections. Apps will have access to a 5.1" 16:9 upper portion of the screen that will work pretty much the same way the existing LCD screen does now. The lower 1/2" or so will replace the home button and will be reserved for Apple's system to use for contextual buttons.

I don't think apps will have any direct access to the lower on-screen buttons. Apple is going to ensure at a minimum that area always has the equivalent of a "Home" button and probably a touch ID available at all times. I think the lower buttons will only display Apple system functions and no custom app code will be allowed to run in that sandboxed space.

Sounds good an all, but it doesn't make the content any bigger, so they are technically "not" getting rid of the bezel. They are just putting a customizable bezel or better yet a touch bar like the MBP. Which is fine and all but I still have to go back down to a 5.1" display from my 5.5" 7+. Hopefully this has a + model that goes up to 6.8" display in the same form factor as the 7+, because many people are already willing to carry a device that big.

Whoever designed the mockup, is clearly MKBHD fan.
I am think that Apple will make fully "edge to edge" display iPhone. About OLED, not sure, we hear this "next iPhone will have OLED screen" every year, so I am not convinced.
My next iPhone preorder guarantee checklist:
  • Wireless charging
  • Not iPhone 6/6s/7 chassi design (I am fed up)
  • DAC or other high quality sounds output or Bluetooth 5.0
  • No increase in phone dimensions, I still want to use my phone with one hand or at least reach the top
  • Some extra wow features

Any word on the camera being improved on? Two things I care about, battery life and the camera performance. Everything else is icing on the cake for me.

I'll be waiting for the next iPhone... when Apple deems the rest of us worthy to enjoy an OLED display. I see an OLED display on all of the Samsung S8 phones, not just one. Apple makes me sad lately. :(
