The difference would only be $140 more compared to iPhone 7 Plus of either type. That's very reasonable considering the new tech, features, and design the iPhone 8 will have.
Slowly boiling the frog at work here.
Just make people expect high prices soon enough they will get accustomed to it and pay it with a smile on their face.
Like... come on. REASONABLE?
It's not reasonable. These are normal advancements in tech, with your argument you could have made every single new generation of a product more expensive.
And most people that I talk to (I sell phones for a living) absolutely hate it. Its such an inconvenience. I'm sorry but it is. I want to listen to my music or watch Netflix on the plane or something, but I can't do it privately b/c I can't find the stupid apple adapter or don't wanna shell out 160 bucks for overpriced airpods. Me having my GS8 just reminds me how I've missed the headphone jack on the older iPhones. I still say (as a consumer) it was a ridiculous unnecessary decision to remove the headphone jackAre people still talking about the headphone jack. The reality is that wireless head/earphones are the future, since owning the Airpods I haven't used or wanted to go back to the headphone jack. Most people that I've spoke to don't have a problem with it going away.
This is very realistic pricing, it's likely what we'll end up seeing.
Definitely concerning, even with the new MacBook Pros and iPad Pros... With every initial upgrade cycle they seem to be finding ways to drastically increase the prices. And since it's the iPhone people will still buy them like hot-cakes even at those prices, not an optimal trend.

Has to be, Tim has to keep the profits up, so if hey can afford one, or are buying one, everyone else Just pays more. See MacBook Pro pricing, less sold, higher prices. Actually Tim has found ways to increase pricing of all the products. Give the guy credit, smiles and pretends to care so much, and yet it's just profit that matters most . Though apple is doing well $$$.We hear this every single year! I always say the same thing-Its not going to be priced that high.
But airpods sounds like crap even compared to other BT ear buds. I've had them for 2 weeks and really tried to like them but ended up returning them because the sound sucked so bad. Not to mention you look like a total tool with them on.

They sound just like EarPods. Apple has never cared about sound quality. Number one concern is Profit. And whilst the AirPods are way overpriced, they do prove to be excellent headphones for certain scenarios. I absolutely love mine, they are my gym headphone, awesome. If I sit down to listen to music , never would I use them....they sound aweful for the price, not to mention they really don't pair well with other devices outside apple, wired headphones kick thier butt at that price point when you talk SQ. if you want small and convinient, AirPods rock. Don't forget some people don't care about SQ
If you want the best, you have to expect to pay for it. I know I'll be buying on day one whatever the price.
Actually it didn't sell, Apple had to reduce the price and refund early adoptersThe very first iPhone was actually sold for $499-$599 for its first few months without any subsidies.

I don't expect them to be on par with wired headphones but they are not even close to my jaybird x2. And for $160, I actually think they're reasonably priced. Well below my predicted $300+.
I own thousands of dollars of Apple products, but I didn't buy any of them in 2016 or so far in 2017.I mean, I will be paying the price because I am do for an upgrade from my 6+.
Am I happy about it, not really but I have my finances in order where I can afford one. Plus the only other major apple purchase I have made recently was the 2016 rMB m5 at a $300 discount. Only two apple products I own (I forgot about the iPod nano 5th gen that sits in my drawer that never gets used). I talked myself out of an apple watch for now because I don't see the point of dropping $300+ for an extension of my phone. This is comparing to some people on here that have thousands of dollars of apple products (not to call anyone out, it's their life wether it befits them business wise or just as an enthusiast).
Apple could jack up the price even more if they wanted to and people will still pay for it. You are paying for more than just the hardware (software, customer service, etc.).
I've rarely had any issues with apple products over the 11 years I have owned them. When I went to the samsung galaxy s3 on a whim because my 4 got stolen 3 days before a trip, I loved the new feel of something different. Down the line, the phone was sent to the factory TWICE for technical issues and I paid far out the ass to get them taken care of.
Apple just works and it works well. It's a premium product that commands the price they are asking for. Another example for me was when the 2016 rMBP were released. I waited several months holding off from buying a rMB because I wanted to see what they would bring to the table. While the touch bar looked awesome, for me and my uses it didn't justify the $500 up-charge. I went with a 2016 rMB and I love this thing!
I am ready for a new phone and have chimed in to the iPhone and Alternative to iOS forums to see what others had to say. Go with the 7+, s8+, or wait it out. For now, I am waiting it out as my almost 3 year old iPhone 6+ has been excellent with one minor repair (camera pin, which they replaced FOR FREE).
Curious, did you get the iPhone thru BB unlocked or was the discount large enough to cover the carrier unlock fee and still be ahead of Apple's unlocked price ?So if I plan on keeping my iPhone 7 Plus for 3-4 years, how exactly is my paying full retail considered being a sucker? (Actually got a nice discount on it through Best Buy but that's neither here nor there.)
But airpods sounds like crap even compared to other BT ear buds. I've had them for 2 weeks and really tried to like them but ended up returning them because the sound sucked so bad. Not to mention you look like a total tool with them on.
Can't deny the convenience, loved the airpods for that but for me, the sound did not make me enjoy my music the same way my jaybirds did so what was the point of headphones at all? Plus, they hurt over long periods of time compared to jaybirds where I can have them on all day 8+ hrs no problem.I disagree and I'm willing to go beyond your point. Sure, the AirPods don't have the best sound quality available for Bluetooth on the market. But for what they're worth, there certainly not "Crap." Then I question, are the AirPods really boasting sound quality over a convenience factor? Such as five hours of usage, 15 minutes of charging is equivalent to three hours of usage, the portable carrying case and the seamless connectivity. That's where the AirPods really shine. No one is purchasing the AirPods for superior sound. They are purchasing them because of the user experience paired with the iPhone.
And your comment about how they look like a "Tool" with them on is a horrible argument and is completely ridiculous. What's the difference if I'm Wearing The regular wired EarPods, when the Airpods are nothing more with the wires trimmed off? You are essentially saying they look ridiculous because they don't have a wire attached as the regular EarPods would it? You don't have a valid point.
