Good. I might be buying a new phone this year, and some early info would be nice.

What is the attraction with curved edges again? It's a curve away from you. I see it on some Samsung screen and I really don't like it. I don't see the point, what is the point, anyone know?

You don't see a point, until Apple releases an iPhone with one and then BOOM, its the best thing ever and Apple innovates. There are many usages for a curved edge. Samsung uses it to display notifications, controls, etc. Apple may do the same or have some other use for it or not have it at all. If you have not used it or do not find a use for it, does not make it not useful to others. :)

There is something beautiful when a screens edge just disappears into its environment, rather then seeing a bezel. When you hold it, it feels like you are holding the internet. ;)

For its Anniversary phone Apple is going to release a 3.5" iPhone. BOOM crowd goes wild, riots on the streets, Tim is hailed as a king. Best iPhone released evva and comes with a Lightening to 30pin and Audio Jack Dongle. ;):p:D:eek:

Though I'm almost certain it won't, I really do want the 3.5mm audio jack to come back. It will be missed. :(

As the rumours show, you might get both: an iPhone 7s and an iPhone 8.

If Apple went this route, I could see them doing something like they did with the Apple Watch Series 2 and original/Series 1. Release a new iteration and revamp the old iteration at the same time, resulting in the new iPhone 8 and a 7s with upgraded internals. Would be weird though.

It was for a new toy to a degree. I'm a cyclist and I wanted to be able to listen to music quietly on those 100km rides without a cord in the way! And for when I'm doing web work. I'm pretty excited for them to show up.

I use them daily while doing web design and yes, they are perfect for that. . .I've not really had any problems hearing others' conversations. One thing I have noticed. . If you use them for phone calls or FaceTime, the battery life is not nearly as long as it is with music only.

MacRumors quote:

"Rumors suggest the iPhone 8 will include an edge-to-edge OLED display, perhaps with curved edges, with a glass backing, a deviation from the aluminum body used since the iPhone 4s. It's said to look like a single sheet of glass, with a Touch ID Home button built directly into the display."

Uh oh. Looks different from your predictions @Sunnysunnysingh. Time for a refesh.

Not sure why Apple just does not adopt the year of release and call it iPhone 2016, iPhone 2017, iPhone 2018, etc. Maybe rethink the whole Plus thing as well. iPhone 11, iPhone 11S, iPhone 99.

Apple did an "unintentional" bend, Samsung is doing an "intentional" bend. ;):D

Samsung S8 FLX, got to sound cool. :)

If Apple was innovative they would release an iPhone that when unfolded it turns into an iPad. Sickest product to be released. Who am I kidding, that will never happen as we may have better luck them releasing a new dongle.

If Samsung releases the rumoured bending/unfolding phone the iPhone will look outdated the day it is announced. This is coming from a long time Apple users 20+ years.

Apple needs to seriously leapfrog the industry and spark some excitement. Apple the company that has #simmereddownnow.

If Samsung replaces the Note line with a Galaxy S8 foldable phone, that will take away from the Apple excitement pretty fast. You can either have a chocolate bar phone or a foldable phone that may turn into a tablet.

Really? A foldable phone? I thought foldable phones are for 80 year olds :p

Posts like this is why so many people get disappointed in September. Rumors based on nothing that it will be a "radical redesign".

Android is awful to use. Set up many Android based phones for family and friend but rather have iOS any day regardless of any perceived limitations.

All of these iPhone 8 rumors seem too good to be true. A iPhone 7S this year just seems more likely. I really hope I'm wrong though.

I would like to believe that Apple did not release an iPhone "6SS" last year just so it can release an "6SSS" this year. It kept same design for the last 3 years to save the major design change for the anniversary. I hope I am right but I could also be wrong.

I do think Apple will release a new redesigned iPhone for the 10th anniversary, however I don't get this obsession people have with always wanting something that looks different, the iPhone 7 is a great looking phone.

2017 is an iPhone 7S, 2018 is iPhone 8

You obviously haven't kept up with the news. Normally however you would be right, but with this year being the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, rumours and analysts are saying that Apple will skip the 7s and go straight to the 8.

I love all the spec hounds posting how "outdated" the iPhone is. Bigger numbers or "newer" does not always mean it is more fit for purpose. More megapixels does not mean better photos. 4K on a 5" display is absolutely overkill and would only chew up resources. OLED is "newer" and unquestionably great for televisions used indoors and displaying constant moving video. OLED is not more efficient when displaying mostly white, it gets burn-in and color shifts, and daylight performance is less than LED. No bezels means good luck holding it and edge to edge screen... goodbye selfies and good luck hearing phone calls.

Which is probably why Apple held off on doing those things, if they are indeed adding them into the iPhone 8 (or whatever they decide to call it) they will have probably found a way to solve the issues. Just because Apple has people screaming at them "put OLED in your phones" or whatever, doesn't mean they should. Steve Jobs himself said "people don't know what they want until we give it to them"

I'm 'super excited' at what will be the best iPhone ever, I wonder what courageous act the designers will make for it?

Kinda like iPhone 7 was iPhone 6S. S. 6SS. They can't stretch out iPhone 6 design for another year, no way. Also, its 10th anni of iPhone.

I don't think i wanna even know what that looks like.. .. an Android phone?

Edge-to-edge.....that's would mean Apple can now make smaller phones at the same size at larger ones almost.

The aluminum body has not been "used since the 4s." The 4s had a glass back.
Yeah, my grammar has never been great, but I think with this usage it is inclusive so should have read since the 5. I guess since is one of those ambiguous words where whether it is inclusive or not depends on what you are talking about.

This could be Apple's chance to reinvent the phone (again) and make the market exciting. Groundbreaking innovations have started to become less frequent and its the main reason why I'm still content with an iPhone 6, whereas I used to lust each new iteration.

Honestly, the last iPhone that truly blew me away was the iPhone 5. Most changes since then bar for the bigger screens have seemed more iterative.
