No, I am saying if you have the opportunity to stick a mirror on here, why wouldn’t you do it? If you are making it for 25- to 40-year-old nerds, you would have put a black thing back here. But we are sitting here going, “Look, it costs nothing. Why don’t we do it because you know what, people actually do need mirrors from time to time.”

Apple tend to make products that only really look good in the promotional images, but then terrible in real life due to finger prints and scratches...which they seem to design products to be magnets for.

The same can be said of any product produced by any company. Example: Have you ever seen a "Big Mac" that looks like the one pictured on the billboards?

Something doesn't add up here. If the phone is predicted to be heavily supply-strained, why make it available in 4 colours from the beginning?

What difference does that make? I mean why not then just make it available to one cell co too?

If Apple limited initial production to, say black and white, then people who wanted gold or mirror would either wait... or just buy what it available. That does nothing to relive the supply restraint if those people don't wait it out in big numbers but does leave Apple with excess inventory if they do wait it out -- inventory that could have been used to make the gold and mirror model those people are waiting for.

But it's 2017. Apple doesn't have to guess on how many of x color to make. It has data to know the best ratio of black to white to gold to mirror phones. Apple doesn't make each phone in equal numbers and does't pull out ramp up numbers of each model out of thin air either.

But a bezel free iPhone looks better in black, at least on the front. I currently own a white iPhone 6s, my iPhone 5 was white but they had big bezels.
They made a mistake with iPhone 5C by using only a black front, even for the white model. A completely white iPhone 5C would have been stunning.

I agree, I will still get black on black but whatever the new new is will get hated on then will sell out faster than any other model. I will have my black iPhone 8 (or whatever) on day one from my local TMO and there will be countless threads about people tracking their "ugly" new phone (as well as people who have to preorder freaking out about their normal colors getting to UPS on time).

I thought the white had a white front, however you got the black one (replacement screen I'm guessing) it looks sick! I would buy a white one in a heart beat if it had no bezels or black front. I love the storm trooper look on just about everything I have!

Because its going to be a "Pro" or "Edition" version, retail for significantly more - so they'll be able to cover the cost and those high paying customers will be expecting this. Same reason high end cars don't just come in one color even though production numbers are low.

If this turns out, even though it'll be a fingerprint magnet, it'll be very successful.

I transferred my complete (space grey) iPhone 6 into a new all white rear body.
