I had the same issue for pick-up options, but when I tried placing another order again, I was able to select pick-up for the launch day. You might want to try again.
 
I forgot to set a reminder so I was an hour late finishing my pre-order. Will be picking up on Saturday instead of Friday. 17 Pro, Blue, 256GB.

I'm eligible for an upgrade on my 15 Pro Max. On AT&T, the difference for me between a 17 PM (256GB) and an Air (256GB) is only $1 a month so that makes this an extremely difficult choice since by all means the Pro Max is the better phone and in a color I really want (Deep Blue) but it's not as "cool" or different as the Air.

The Air is honestly the only iPhone that moved me out the 17's but I was expecting it to be around $5-$10 a month cheaper than a Pro Max and it's not, only a dollar cheaper so money wise I'm not sure it makes sense when for basically the same money I could just get the Pro Max.

I guess it'll come to down to personal preference but I'm on the fence. I really want to see if the Air being titanium like the 15PM I currently have will run warm/hot at times seeing as it doesn't have the cooling feature like the new Pros.
 
First time in years I’m not preordering. This year has been the least exciting year for iPhone and Apple and their lack of AI and other issues has really turned me off from Apple completely.

Exactly the opposite here. I can still get it delivered on 09/19 but not available to pick up at any stores around me. Very weird as I prefer going to the store to get glass screen protector added to my phone.
 
0526 am Ordered a Blue 17 Pro Max 512GB September 19th delivery, & Ordered the wife a Orange 17 Pro Max 256GB at 0537 am for September 19 pickup. Both ordered from the Veterans website side.
 
Let me ask a question that always comes up. I'm on the iPhone upgrade program and upgrade every year. It's my splurge. Every year I say maybe I wait and just pay it off but alas...
There is always a threat of a 13th monthly charge for last year's phone that comes in and feels like I pay two installments in the release month (one for the old and one for the new). Does everyone else experience that?

Also, my wife also got a new phone and since she's using the Apple Card payment plan, only has to pay the tax and not the first monthly payment. She loved that she only had to pay like $42 upfront and I had to pay $145

iUP 256 Pro Silver and 256 Pro Orange checked out at 8:01 says 9/25. I’d imagine it’ll be changed to launch day.

Downgrading from my 16PM. Tired of the weight. Tired of the size. Battery life not a concern.

did the pre-preorder yesterday, got in on the Apple Store app at 8:02EST, got the 256 white Air, and a 9/25 shipping date. 🤷🏼‍♂️ had the same date for my watch (silver 11, GPS) when i preordered it earlier this week and i noticed it updated, yesterday, to a 9/19 shipping date.

Commenting isn’t complaining, Skip, This is an Apple-focused website, so people are going to be more vocal than on a mixed use social media page like Facebook or Twitter.
It’s very weird for shipping to slip from launch the moment pre-orders begin, which is exactly what was going on. For people who pre-order on a regular basis, that oddity stands out and will be commented, discussed and speculated.
I’m not quite sure why you find that offensive, but given your newbie status here perhaps you’re just not accustomed to how discussions work on MR.

I am not sure what people expect. Think about how many people are trying to put their "pre order" in at the SAME TIME. Majority of people got their order in the first five minutes...and yet it wasn't "smooth" or "Apple sucks at delivering online services"

To be fair to Tim and Co these dates aren't cast in stone, my MBP came about 3 weeks earlier than the initial shipping date given and that included various customisations. So fingers crossed my current 29 Sept - 6 Oct is on the pessimistic side.
 
I tired go in to the store early 7am CST with Military discount site came up at 7:12 CST, When i choose pickup in store showed times but at checkout it told me, Not available and Shipping arrives 9/19

I was able to get a 1TB Silver 17 Pro for 9/19 delivery. Got the confirmation and all, but weirdly enough, since I placed an order for a few cases and watch bands in a separate order as I was trying to get through the phone part as fast as possible; I've get to get the confirmation for those, however there is a pending authorization on my card so I know it went through. 🤷‍♂️ Oh well, happy about the phone!

I think they reserved more for in-store pickup this year. Typically Apple would release additional in-store inventory on launch day. Perhaps they want more through pre-orders this year.
 
What a cluster, I`m not upset, just disappointed. first order when Im not showing delivery for launch date, and looking at the store after my order (which was on iphone upgrade program) same phone showed 9/19 delivery... So people that prepreoredered and then preordered on apple iphone upgrade program got screwed ? Of course I couldn't cancel the order and reorder since this is iphone upgrade program.

This is with 2 phones, ProMax and Pro, same thing for both ordered on 2 different phones.
