It's annoying but I don't care. Hey is that the phone that bends? Yeah good thing I don't wear hipster pants. Then I just keep it moving

Maybe you don't have kids and don't understand. Of course she doesn't evaluate Mobil OS systems and development programs. When the national news tells her many iPhone users can't use their phones she was concerned for me and asked about it.

first of all you didnt address any of my other statements.

what does kids have to do with evaluating mobile software and hardware? your daughter just repeated what was told to her, just like how in older history books that the we won the vietnam war, or that the middle east gangs/terrorists groups hate the US because of freedom.

just because the media says so, doesnt mean its true.

i dont want to knock on the fact that your daughter is kind and is looking out for you, but your statements are just very irrelevant.

perfecting software isn't easy, actually its near impossible. so far i upgraded all my devices to iOS 8 and besides that update blunder, its pretty fine and everyday business for me.

I've never bought a phone at launch until this year with iPhone 6. I've always waited to see reviews and what not after it's been released.

The phone becoming an industry joke. Even my 11 yr old daughter been asking me if my phone is bending and if I have no service because of update.

Seems to me apple really messed this one up. The thin form factor going to lead to a lot of bending especially the 6+. Not well thought out. The ios8 is not stable at all and then the joke of an update they did yesterday was a disaster.

Now I get to go to work and listen to all the android boys break my chops saying I got a cheap device and now the one thing you can always say was good (iOS) is broken.

Personally only issue I've experienced personally is slow wifi from work (my home is excellent).

Any one else feeling a little embarrassed right now for running out and buying an unpolished and seems beta product?

Frankly, you sound like an insecure person. Whatever you'd buy you'll not happy with because people will always find something to put your gadget down.
But "iPhone becoming an industry joke" because of your insecurity? I feel really sad for your 11 yrs old.

WSJ: ‘iPhone 6 Is the Most Durable iPhone Yet’
There. How is that an industry joke?

I just simply cannot fathom being concerned about what other people think about my cell phone.

Millions of phones have been sold and users without problems don't tend to shout that fact from the rooftops. Has your friend connected his phone by USB to iTunes on his computer? The icloud backups don't contain music transferred from a computer, do they?

Yes he hooked it up USB..trying it still..

It's funny no one can fathom what other people think, meanwhile you're all on a forum..if you didn't care, why bother posting or reading forums?

Insecure? Feel bad for my 11 yr old? I live in NJ..anytime you'd like to find out how insecure I am you can PM me and we'll meet somewhere..

We're talking about a phone..and now you call out my parenting skills?

Anytime..Anywhere

I'm not embarrassed for buying the phone, I think the overall experience is top-notch (normally) and I don't regret it.

It is frustrating to feel like I have to defend the company, though. Bending, iOS 8 bugs, iOS killing service, knowing that they knew about the iCloud issue but didn't fix it... Yeah, that's embarrassing, and disappointing. I expect better from Apple.

Not being "able to fathom" your particular point of view is not synonymous with not "caring," I just don't get where you're coming from.

What happens when he connects his phone to iTunes?

As a stockholder, these things make me legitimately worried. I think the 6 is a great device. I preordered it, and I like it a lot. But my wife intentionally wanted to "wait and see", and between the bending, the initial bad screen shatter test, and then the 8.0.1 debacle, she's like, "Oh, I'm so glad I didn't get the phone." Public perception is key. The stock took a hit today, and it will definitely show in sales. Even if it's a 1% difference (changing the mind of 1 person out of 100 who would have bought a new 6 or 6+), 1% would mean a lot to Apple at their volumes.

Ha! No. I spend very little energy thinking about what other people think, and even less energy on people who try to influence my behavior or choices. My phone isn't bent, I never updated to to 8.0.1, and I couldn't care less about any of it. I like my 6+ and it's everything I expected.

What happens when he connects his phone to iTunes?

He has it set to sync all playlists..about 1000 songs..only 200 show up which are ones he actually bought thru the phone.. A lot of his music came from cd's, and other places..it shows up in his itunes on computer..but only syncs the same 200 songs?

Again..I did mine and my families a couple days ago..I always just hook up the devices to USB to computer..no problems..

We've tried a bunch of things but nothings working..

Wait . . . what? Is this like a playground, meet me after school kinda thing? Interesting.

If the phone is showing up correctly in iTunes when connected via USB, then it sounds like a settings issue. I know that setting up my new phone from an iCloud backup resulted in only iTunes purchases showing up in music.

How much did you get paid to post this nonsense?

This is simply an example of the media and competition jumping on any flaw that presents itself. The iPhone is an extremely popular product and Apples competition would love to be able to slow sales any way possible. I've had more phones than I can count and there are always problems. They just don't usually get blown out proportion unless it's an iPhone. Not to say the issues mentioned aren't worth talking about, but they are still being presented as more prominent than they actually are.

Then think straight. Breathe and think. This is the biggest iPhone release yet. The competitors are scared. The media's interest is running high. It's pitch fever high. And what the biggest issue they found. Oh, the bigger one bend when you put great force on it.
That's it? That's all they can find? I say that's impressive.
Yes, the OS update yesterday was a blunder but it was an embarrassment at worst. Industry joke? What a laugh!

I'm a big fan but personally I kind of enjoy these "checks" to Apple's ego. If everyone constantly raved on and on about how great they were there wouldn't be much motivation to improve.

Lately Apple has received some big doses of humility. Celebgate, Keynote glitches, pre-order debacle, China delays, iOS8 and 8.0.1, Bendgate. Hopefully this spurs them to work harder and set aside some of the arrogance that comes from success. Hopefully someone has the courage to tell Ive the phone is already too thin and it's time to focus on real world durability and battery life. Hopefully this leads them to QUESTION each decision even more and focus on true quality.

I will continue to buy Apple products and be a fan but part of me is glad they take some heat and can't get complacent in their success.

This is exactly what's happening..only thing showing on phone is "purchased" and "recently added"

Can't figure out how to get the rest of his playlists? Do you remember the setting issue that you got it done with?

The way I have iTunes set up, I have "sync all music" checked under music, and then the option to only sync songs that are check marked (which I think is on the main page of settings).

Now, I did have a problem with iTunes locking up when I would plug my phone in by USB. That's not his issue, right? He is connecting the phone via USB and has all music (or whatever) selected to sync, and has pressed the sync button? (Technically I think this can be done over wifi, but perhaps the first sync needs to be by USB so that iTunes recognizes the new device.) Any iCloud backup will not contain music transferred from a computer, AFAIK.

When you are the industry leader, every one looks for flaws to bring you down. That's the nature of the beast. Apple puts itself above all the rest by saying it is the best. So when you beat your chest, everyone else wants to bring you down a notch. You never hear the major media outlets going after the flaws of Samsung, LG, etc, because people don't care. That is not news. But when someone says there is a flaw in the iPhone, everyone listens. Simply because most people can identify almost immediately an iPhone, but they have no clue what a Samsung, LG, HTC phones or tablets look like. Apple brings it on themselves by touting themselves as the best.

I love how Samsung, HTC and all others always target Apple on their ads to try to get more users and Apple doesn't give a **** about other companies and sells more phones than them still.

Embarrassed because I trusted apple enough to go stand in line day 1 only to get a phone that seems like a beta.

All of us that got our phones at launch basically told our friends/family that we were anxious to get the best new phone on the market and we needed it now. Like it or not this is all over the news and it makes apple look horrible and for whatever reason I feel like a jerk that couldn't wait. Like a child that ran down stairs to open presents to find a huffy instead of a mongoose (dating myself a bit I know)

Last time I buy at launch.

first off I did not tell anyone I was getting the best phone ever. I said I was getting the newest phone that I want. I suspect that you are a younger person that is wrapped up in validation of others. You need to let that go. Did you have a problem with your phone? Is it bent or did you an issue with the update? if not then there is no problem and you are forming your opinions off the opinions of others.

If you are that concerned you still have a week to return it. You have to remember that EVERY company has issues with new products. However, apple is a unique beast in that ANYTHING that they deal with will be amplified 100X in the media. that is something other companies do not deal with.
